I went in on Sunday to have brake pads replaced, which I was told by a different auto service chain needed to happen, PRONTO. The way my brake pad condition had been described at the other company… I was driving a virtual death trap, and the only thing separating me from certain death was a paper thin brake pad, ready to fail at any second. I was skeptical, but figured I at least had a week to have a ‘second opinion’, and at a lower price.
When I took the car in to have my brake pads of death replaced, Pep Boys said they would give me a free assessment before doing anything. OK, that was nice — but I had been laboring under the illusion I was driving around on borrowed brake pad time, so was just relieved I was able to get it done at a reasonable price.
I received a call an hour later — there was nothing wrong with my brake pads, and they didn’t recommend I get them replaced. What a wha? You mean to tell me that I – a ready customer willing to spend money at your shop… didn’t need the service I was requesting, and there was no problem? Oh… and the assessment was STILL free?
Yowsa! Way to gain a customer, Pep Boys! You did just that… you had every opportunity to take advantage of the situation, and didn’t. You dealt with me honestly, quickly, and it is greatly appreciated. I WILL be back for my next service, guaranteed.

Terrible service with terrible techs or what pepboys considers «techs». They destroyed my rim, they destroyed my key starter and the whole staff you can see is from the ghetto lack of a high school diploma. Bunch of low class, «lives» and no value dirt bags. I will not only sue them, take them to court but will also make sure they personally pay for damages.

Went to this location as a new customer for a patch in my tire, was told it would take 30 – 60 minutes. In 30 minutes I saw my car come around the corner and a man bring my keys to the counter. I thought maybe there was some paperwork to do so I sat and waited to be called, finally after 30 minutes more of waiting I went to the counter and asked if my car was done. He looked and said and oh yeah! Here you go. Had it not been for the amazing price I would have been upset, the easiest part is telling me I’m all done! Still unsure as to whether or not I will return to this location again.

Went here to have my rear brakes checked, because there was obviously a problem with the brakes making a squealing noise when stopping, after going in reverse. Took the car here and they couldn’t find anything wrong. Took the car to another shop, and I was told my brakes are «gone», which I had suspected. Brakes were replaced and they work wonderfully now. Obviously, an employee (or employees) at this Pep Boys weren’t interested in doing the work. That’s the last time I set foot in that business.

bought 4 new tires in NH a year ago. During a drive to Florida I got a flat. Stopped into this Pep Boys and the honored my roadside hazard, got me all fixed up quickly and friendly. Thanks Texus, great service.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I came in to swap out a Bosch battery and, according to their website, they offer free battery installation. Maybe everybody here is just too lazy to do it, because nobody did. When I brought it up, they said it cost $ 10. I guess they have never been to their own website to see that they offer free installation. So, I had to do it myself.
My battery was just installed July 2012, and is still under full warranty because there’s a manufactures three-​year warranty. However they only cover batteries if you bought it from their store. I spoke to Dave the salesman and he couldn’t care less about the warranty, all he wanted was the sale. The manager just kind of shrugged it off as if to say, oh well too bad. Never even look me in the eye. Standards are really lacking in the store, apparently they hire anybody. I guess they’re good enough to sell the product but not good enough to warranty it out. I own a retail store and even if somebody comes in with the product they didn’t purchase from my store, if I sell the same product, I warrantee it out and deal with the manufacturer to get compensated. That’s what customer service is all about, and that’s how you retain your customers. Maybe Pep Boys should take a class and customer retention and customer service, because your store is severely lacking in both. This is got to be the worst store I have ever been in. I can promise you they lost a customer after this transaction. I will never return to the store as long as I live. I will be sure to tell everybody about the service at this location. This is Fort Lauderdale, parts stores are a dime a dozen, so it’s not like you’re the only game in town.

Horrible, horrible place! Easily the worst and most unprofessional mechanic shop I’ve ever been to. I came here in late August because my brake light was coming on. I wound up spending $ 600 for a new master cylinder and related parts. Over a month later my brake light came on again. When I went back I was told the proportion valve was no good and they tried to charge me over $ 200 for to replace the part yet again, even though I was obviously still under the warranty. When I physically showed the service tech the paperwork he looked at me sheepishly and dismissed the entire matter, like he was upset that he got caught trying to pull a fast one on me. Two and a half months later now my brake light has come on yet again. I go back to the place today and the service technicians were their usual apathetic selves. When I arrived at 9:30 AM I was told the car would be ready at 12pm. It took them that long to even pull the car into the bay, where it just sat there for the next 3 hours after that until they were finally able to track down the mechanic who was working on it, after I had to stay on top of them to find out why I was still waiting there hours after the promised finished time. Finally, I was told that once again it was the master cylinder proportion valve. When I asked them why they couldn’t get this problem fixed the first two times, the mechanic responded he had no idea why. Furthermore, I was then told by the service manager that they wouldn’t be able to get the part that day, and for me to try calling back the following morning to see if it arrived. This after a 5 ½ hour wait for a problem which couldn’t get fixed after the first two visits, and which they had me wait all day the third time for nothing. This evening I called the corporate office to file a complaint and the woman who answered the phone tried giving me the brush off, stating that I had to speak to the store manager about the situation. After I objected, she agreed to take down what my complaint was and told me that it would be followed up on, and to call them back in 48 hours if the store hasn’t contacted me by then. My next stop after this is to bring Pep Boys to small claims court over this matter if I can’t get any satisfaction.

I brought my truck for an oil change it was done they, called me I came from work an picked up. They have what I want and did what I needed. Simple

I came in recently for an oil change and was very impressed with the service I received from the minute I walked into the door. Jose was very assistive and honest, which is hard to find when dealing with your car. It made me feel very welcome and comfortable. I’ll be back !!!

Brought my jeep in for a brake job, I wasn’t expecting much because I’ve had pretty lame experiences with Pep Boys in the past. I didn’t make an appointment, just walked up to the service counter. David L. was manning the counter that day and he did a wonderful job. He told me that it would about 30 min to inspect my Jeep, he was right. He brought me into the shop and showed me what we were dealing with before doing any service. He explained everything to me and was very professional, again, I’m not used to such good service at a Pep Boys! The icing on the cake: he honered a discount for the brakes even though I didn’t have my coupon with me and signed me up for a rewards card. Sweet!
I’ll be back here to get my tires installed.
