Real nice clean hotel. I really enjoyed the facility. I will highly recommend this hotel

Many things were wrong with this hotel. (Our account as experienced during our stay On January 9^th, 2016).
1. Although there was only one family ahead of us when we first arrived, the Man at the front desk forced us to wait for 45 min while he checked in 3 other families as they arrived (these families seemed to all be there together; however, we were there before other families in their party had arrived-​each with their own separate reservation needs-​and we should not have been forced to wait as the man allowed every family in the entire party pass us up even though they arrived after us). Then it took 20 minutes to check us in. Just way WAY to long to make us stand there and wait.
2. I paid for the hotel through
and because the hotel was having issues being reimbursed by the site (an issue which they had been well aware of for several weeks before I had even made my reservation-​yet they continued to use the site), they made me pay for the room a second time to ensure they would receive full payment. They also told me that I would have to call bookit myself to get my refund through them, and that the Hotel was not going to help us get our money back. So I had to be on the phone for an hour with Bookit, after having already waited an hour to be checked in if I didn’t want to end up double paying for this experience.
3. They require you to sign a paper saying you will use no alcohol or tobacco during your stay, or they will terminate your reservation. Although Indoor tobacco use is commonly prohibited, restriction of alcoholic beverages is not common, and is quite ridiculous.
4. The beds were horrible and super lumpy. The hotel itself has a very retrofitted hospital/​industrial feel and was not at all warm or inviting.

Yes, it’s a converted hospital, but that’s not why I’m only giving them 2 stars. Rooms are not only small, they are not very clean and the bathroom is tiny. No smoking, and NO ALCOHOL allowed on the premises (the sign-​in process has you agree to this, or else…). Rates are at least $ 30 cheaper than anywhere else, but when we couldn’t lock our room door when we left for dinner, that was the last straw. Never again.

I have been working with The Forum or a few months now and they have been reliable and fair to work with. I’d recommend considering them for your South Florida venue needs.

A stop over place — pretty clean and it always seems safe. Old hospital that now serves as a Christian-​inspired hotel. Note: «you can’t drink or smoke, so what do you do?» I only use this hotel as a quick stop over while on my way to Key West, FL. Nothing fancy, but you probably won’t get rolled on-​site. Check-​in was clumsy this time — took 20 minutes even after I showed the front desk staff my KAYAK reservation confirmation e-​mail on my iPhone. Again nothing fancy — just sleep and a place for nooky.

I was tricked into staying here by Orbitz. I booked my flight, hotel and car with them over the phone and I looked at the pictures of the room which looked nice but the failed to mention NO ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO ALLOWED. Also there was no mention that it’s a CHRISTIAN LODGING! My gf and I made sure to sin as much as possible. We smuggled a bottle of red wine in with the intention of stain we were holding a mass in our room if we got caught.
Also they were doing some kind of system reboot and our key fobs weren’t working so they had to let us in our room with a key for a whole day.
Pay the extra money and stay on the beach somewhere.

Price is great, and it’s clean… but it is definitely an old hospital. From outside or in the lobby you would not be able to tell, but once you get in the elevators… you start to get the feeling. Once you are on your floor, it’s very apparent that it was a hospital at some point. The rooms are like hospital rooms, and feel a bit creepy.
The people that work at the hotel are very nice and they have great customer service. Unfortunately, for us we ended up checking out because we had our family with us and was on vacation. We didn’t feel very vacation like in a hotel that felt like a hospital.

The room was very clean & updated.
The King size bed was super comfortable!
Parking was available & the wi fi had a strong signal working fast speed.
Price was very reasonable.
Why 3 stars you ask?
Doors were slamming loudly both nights until midnight then again at 0700.
Loud music almost had me calling desk but I fell asleep to the beats 10 min later.
The hotel is in a shifty neighborhood next to nothing worth leaving the hotel for on foot.
No alcohol is permitted on the premises.
The Free Breakfast was cereal, stale muffins, watered down coffee, & frozen pancakes.

My mate and I were looking for an overnight hotel to stop at, on our way to Miami, heading for a cruise. All hotels in Miami were ranging at about $ 300/​nightly. I found this hotel for $ 89/​night and booked it.
My mate read up on this hotel and asked, did you know this was formerly a hospital? I said, I didn’t know, but the price was right, especially since we’d only be staying there for a brief overnight. As a retired nurse, it didn’t bother me.
Check in was not very welcoming and it did look like a former hospital. I joked that we would be in a lock-​down unit, the clerk chuckled, and guess what, we were. I didn’t mind. Our room was spacious and a flat screen TV and king sized bed were in the room.
The much written about small bathroom was the truth, and I barely fit in, being 5’4″, my elbows hit the walls as I showered, but I managed. The room was so quiet, no kids running up and down the halls, slamming doors. It was peaceful. The bed was clean and comfortable and WIFI was available. We left early in the morning to continue our trip, with no complaints about our nights sleep.
Tip: I would not recommend this for a vacation stop, but as an inexpensive overnight, it was just perfect.

This place looks really nice on the outside. The service was really friendly. Inside, it is huge. Thus, it is very creepy to not run into a single person while staying here – even with a good amount of the parking lot filled.
It used to be a hospital. You can tell by the tile floors, the bathroom, the layout of the rooms, and the locked doors from one area to another. The light from the common are shines through the bottom of our door quite a bit. Adding to the creepiness, sometimes there’s a random smell of what seems like cigarette. Did I mention there were no shampoo?
Breakfast includes pancakes, bagels, cereal, and muffins. The fridge in the room wasn’t very cold. It took almost 24hrs to freeze.
I probably wouldn’t stay here again. It is cheap.

We stayed for one night on a pass through to Key West. Even though the place is clean and there are no bed bug reports on registry, I give this place 3 stars. For this bare bones place (no bells and whistles at all), the 85 $ plus tax a night is too much. Secondly, as another person reported this place is just plain creepy. It is definitely an old hospital that is calling itself a hotel. If they would spend some money on creative renovations it wouldn’t be so bad. However, you feel like you are staying in a hospital room. This place is safe, clean, and fine to stay for one night but think twice if you need to stay a few days. The sterile hospital feel may get to you as it did me for one night…

Used to be a hospital I think. No alcohol policy which is weird. Not much nearby to walk to. And they didn’t provide any toiletries like shampoo.

Not a very good place to stay, although it was not expensive and was quiet. The room was large, but the closet space was tiny, the chairs were hard wood with no padding, the lighting was poor and the bed /​pillows were substandard. The small bathroom was terrible, including a tiny shower with only lukewarm water and bad pressure, no counter space, and a tiny sink. The room had an odd disinfectant smell.
The hotel is in a former hospital and serves as a mission for child services, so the atmosphere is kind of creepy.
The free breakfast was absolutely bare bones in a stark cafeteria setting.
Aside from the price, I see no reason why anyone would want to stay here.

Great stay for the price even though it was (in my opinion) a hospital at one point in time. Shower is small, but it was clean. Stepping out of the elevator gave me that American Horror Story feel at first, but then it went away. There was only one computer in our area and the printer didn’t work. There weren’t many restaurants around the area, but the one we found was good for the night. The complimentary breakfast could have been a little better especially if this place was a former hospital, then there should have been a better cafeteria area! Work on that please!

My boyfriend and I happened to take a trip to the area and after researching and comparing multiple hotels in the Fort. Lauderdale/​Miami area we decided to go with The Forum Hotel. The reviews seemed to be mediocre, the distance to ocean/​beach wasn’t too far (approximately 3 miles), the bed looked comfy and the primary reason that sold us was the total price for 5 nights also included a car rental.
However now having seen the premises I would not recommend The Forum Hotel, unless your sole objectives were price and clean room.
Yes the room was clean however is located in what looked to be a vacant hospital which was a bit freaky and personally made me uncomfortable. Once you get to the floor you are staying on, there are literally push doors are in a hospital, a gathering area as you see in many convalescent hospital settings and the room layout looked entirely like an inpatient hospital room. It definitely wasn’t warm and welcoming. On some other notes;
* The bed wasn’t anything like the big red one shown in the photos when booking online
* They did not offer toiletries (lotion, shampoo, conditioner, etc) in the restroom as most hotels do
* When checking in, I needed to sign a form noting that I will not partake in smoking or alcohol beverages on the premises (I am not a smoker, however do feel guests should at least be provided a designated outdoor smoking area and be permitted to drink within their unit if desired and of age).
* Cable consisted of approximately 30 very basic channels. (Did not include channels such as TLC, HBO, Lifetime, History Channel, Travel Channel, etc; as most chains offer).
* There isn’t much around, so if you go out looking for food later in the night, if you happen to find a fast food spot, it was most likely closed.
* Wi-​fi was free however I was never able to connect my iPad due to a low signal.
* The hotel is located about 10 – 15 minutes north of Fort. Lauderdale and about 45 –1 hour north of Miami area. It isn’t as close as some reviews indicated.
Overall the room was clean, we received new towels daily, the staff was friendly, they offered continental breakfast (small selection) and bundled with the car rental for 5 days the price of $ 672 was attractive. If I would have known about the hospital setting and the basic cable, I would have rather paid more to avoid these items and stayed somewhere nicer and closer to the beach.

I had a great experience with The Forum. I purchased the suite with a king size bed, kitchen, living room, couch, comfy reading seat… all for under sixty dollars!!! I happened to stay for a month due to work and I never had an issue getting in or getting good service. Plus for the mobile workers among us is the WiFi is free and there are data drops all around the room, sweeeet. They do have a dry policy, but if you want to drink the beach bars are 10 minutes away and you can always take a taxi back.
Overall, I would highly recommend The Forum for those looking for a great amenities at a low rate and great service.

This is a pretty good place to stay if you’re doing Florida on a budget.
1. The room was really nice and clean and they have WiFi in the rooms.
2. Although they don’t have an in-​hotel restaurant, many restaurants
around the area deliver to your room.
3. They have a nice lounge area on each floor where you can just sit and hang out with friends if you want to.
4. Complimentary breakfast. It’s not the greatest selection but it’s not bad.
The only problem with this place is that it’s located in the middle of a bunch of freeways. So if you’re a pedestrian trying to take public transport with luggage (like me) — beware! crossing the street is perilous.
Other than the location, this place is great and worth staying at.

A great reasonably priced place to stay in the Fort Lauderdale area.
Absolutely no complaints, nice room, nice people, great accomodations.
