Bron’s Beach Carts

Had a decent experience renting a golf cart for 2 days. We bargained on a price and were told they would not charge sales tax (because we mentioned an ad we saw) and also they would not charge for gas (tank was half full already). After a mutual verbal agreement on price, our card was charged a different amount after we returned the cart. They DID charge sales tax. Perhaps a written agreement would be best next time. I’ll be checking around other places during our next trip. There are TONS of other beach cart places.

The rates are questionable. First 130 $ then talked to someone else it was 90 $ then 102 $. Seemed like They make it up as they go. There is no set rate. The cart itself was super fun to drive, and reliable. If you go to Port A in the off season get a cart!

Really great place they show you how to use the cart, you don’t have to refill the gas. The cart was brand new and really fast! They are so nice there friendly! They offer pick up and delivery too!

Good customer service, but terrible carts. I don’t know if Bron’s is having some maintenance issues, but this was our experience. Cart #1: It kept dying at inopportune moments so we traded it in for a new one. Cart #2: The oil light came on and it wouldn’t start after the first couple of hours. Fortunately, it was in our driveway, and we’re only a few blocks away so we walked back. They gave us a new one and said they’d swing by our address to pick it up. Cart #3: Ran fine the rest of the day, but the next morning it wouldn’t shift into forward. It backed out of the driveway fine, but when we tried to go forward it refused to budge. Which was bad, because it happened on a busy street with oncoming cars. We pushed it back up into the drive and got #2 (which hadn’t been picked up yet) started again. We drove back to the office to turn this one in and report the problem with #3. As a coda, a few days later, a random driver with a Bron’s cart broke down in front of our house and had to be towed away.
So why not one star? Because the young woman who took care of us at the end was unremittingly cheerful, friendly, and helpful despite being faced with two very clearly irate customers. She gave us a very fair discount based on our what we had been through and did everything she could to make us feel better about the experience.
I doubt I will rent from Bron’s again, but if they can bring their cart quality up to the level of their staff quality they deserve a second look.

Terrible service. Even worse language. The young chicks here curse like sailors & don’t know what the rates are from a hole in the sand.
When I walked up to the sales office there was no one there to greet me. There was no one anywhere to be found.
Two very young girls were washing carts in the background but they were the only ones there. No adults present. The one young pretty blonde told me &@$% was cheap now & that I could get a great #€%€ING rate now that it’s winter. That was the average language of this 15ish year old girl :((
I inquired about the rates for my Xmas holiday & got a totally different rate from when I asked over the phone 5 days prior. I have yet to get a call about the monthly rates from the owner. I guess he’s too busy for my inquiry & business.
I guess I will be renting my beach carts somewhere else in the near future where they actually can string two proper words together without it sounding like someone who just got out of prison.

Highly recommend renting a beach cart from Bron’s. Their carts seem much nicer than the other rental companies. The staff was super nice. The beach cart made our vacation a blast. Once we had our cart we never drove our car again. Renting a beach cart is a Port A must and worth every penny. There is also a bar on site that you can actually order drinks to go. We got a party pack with a gallon of frozen margaritas. We took it to the beach — perfect! The margaritas were great.

Bron is the nicest person I’ve met in Port A. to date. Honest and friendly and SUPER DUPER helpful.

We reserved and cart and when we got there 20 mins early our cart was all ready to good! Love that kind of service. Will rent here again for sure.

Ok people. This is the Gulf Coast. Things rust but these guys have service and are friendly. Run by a bunch of young adults with good attitudes and remember our names. When we had cart trouble they replaced with a better one in 30 minutes. They have us a discount when we mentioned where we were stating. There is also a coupon in the local paper. We uses ours to tour the beach, since it had a beach permit and to go to the jetties and to dinner in town. All Texas laws for vehicles apply even seatbelts. Thanks Bron’s!

We scored here! Per the advice of the awesome lady at our lodge, we walked down to Bron’s to rent a cart for some fun in the sun. Sweet employee gave us a discount, and had us in our cart in less than 5 minutes. No crazy talk, no jacked rates, no hardcore time restraints.
Love it! I will be back.

This is the place to go when you want to rent a beach cart. Very friendly and easy to rent. We rented a 6 person cart and it was our mode of transportation for three days. I highly recommend using Brons.

Our first time renting a beach cart from Port Aransas, we decided to check out Brons because it seemed like most of the beach carts rented from tourists were from Brons. We called several cart places and Brons was definitely the cheapest. We rented a 6 passenger cart from Brons for 24-​hours for $ 150, definitely a great deal compared to other places. The service was really nice and Bron was even there introducing himself. Apparently they’re open 24/​7, which is also a good bonus. I definitely recommend!

We LOVE renting our beach carts here!!! We come down almost every weekend during the summer and will never rent anywhere else! They are so friendly and always make us feel welcome. Great prices and service! They just got some new carts in! Check them out for sure!!!
