Specialties
Aqui Es Santa Fe is a different kind of Colombian food. Made with all natural ingredients we promote the healthier more gourmet side of colombian food. We have Steak, Grilled Chicken, Shrimp, Salmon and Tilapia all made fresh. All the dishes come with either an Arepa or Toston.
An Arepa is like a tortilla just thicker made out of white corn with slat, butter and cheese, while a Toston is a green plantain flatted out and fried.
History
Established in 2008.
Aqui Es Santa Fe was established by Olga Santos. This cozy café across from the Metro-North serves up excellent arepas (circular white corn flatbreads with myriad toppings); frothy fresh fruit drinks (guava, papaya, pineapple, passion fruit); and other traditional Colombian fare. Main dishes to try include sautéed salmon with fried banana and avocado and grilled chicken in a mushroom sauce. For dessert: warm homemade chocolate muffins with ice cream. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday to Saturday and for lunch and dinner only on Sunday.
Meet the Business Owner
Olga and Carlos S.
Business Owner
Olga Santos, originally from Colombia, is the youngest in a family of business owners, mainly clothing manufacturers and retailers. Since she was a young girl, Santos dreamed of owning her own restaurant. The restaurant would be well-known, with the most delectable food around and with the most loyal clientele. These days, it appears her dreams have been answered. Santos and her son Carlos have become the proprietors of Aqui Es Santa Fe in Port Chester, New York. The restaurant is now 8 years old, and has become one the counties best dining experiences. The restaurant earned stellar reviews on Yelp, the New York Times, Westchester Magazine and has been featured on CNN.
