Malkmes Florists & Greenhouses

I’ve used this florist for 30 years. As a child and all throughout my life into adulthood. They were always our go to spot for long lasting flowers and very friendly service. The last two times I attempted to use them the service was horrible. The woman who I spoke to on the phone both times was so dismissive, rude and un interested that I actually ended up canceling the order and using another florist. I thought the first negative encounter may have been a fluke but when it happened a second time I realized that this is just no longer the small friendly community florist it once was. It’s sad actually. I used to refer many people.

Our wedding in Long Island was last September, and we live in Philly so arranging vendors was a pain. We had a very nice local florist lined up… who retired three weeks before the event. So we were in a hurry.
Our photographer recommended Malkmes, but our photographer has weird tastes sometimes, so we talked with two other florists too. Malkmes was the cheapest by quite a lot, $ 600 vs $ 870 and $ 910 according to my spreadsheet, so that’s who we went with.
They were pretty amazing. Carrie and Sueann were super-​nice when we came by to pay and drop off some vases and wrappings we wanted to use. They didn’t blink when we needed some things delivered early to the parents’ house for pictures, and other things to the venue; I don’t think they even charged extra. The flowers were huge and gorgeous and exactly what we’d hoped for. We couldn’t have been happier.

Nice arrangement and excellent service. I ordered a funeral arrangement and was very happy with the results. Easy to call them and describe what I was looking for. Flowers were delivered promptly for the memorial service. The bouquet was lovely, the flowers looked absolutely fresh. Very happy and will be calling them again the next time I need something in the Pt. Jeff area.
