Ocean Honda of Port Richey

Nothing but a waste of time. Totally inattentive. I was looking for a 2016 civic with a manual. Good luck. The salesman sent quotes and info sheets for all automatics. This after saying several times I want a manual. Goes along three days and no call. Called and left a voice mail. No returned call. Found a civic in Tampa with precisely what I was looking for, but I wanted to support local businesses; so I called and left another message. No return call. Days later an email with more AUTOMATICS. Complete waste of time and breath trying to talk to the salesman here. They only care about selling what’s on their lot and not about the customer needs. Then tried getting me into a fit because they had those in manual. Again it’s not a civic or what I was looking for! Save yourself the hassle if you’re looking for something they don’t have.

The service advisor is not a problem here. It is the management and the operation not attending to your car as promised. I had an scheduled appointment at 9:30am for oil change and tire rotation. The time frame is around 1 – 1 ½ hour. As 11am came, I decided to check in with my service advisor to find out if my car was ready. I saw it in the service bay, and asked if my car was ready. My service advisor was puzzled because he didn’t get the paperwork for the job done. He went to check, and saw it wasn’t even brought in. He took care of it quickly, and did the job in 20 minutes. I was surprised on how fast it took him to do all it compare to all my visits I came in. Now, I know it is the management and operations not taking care of their customers well. They don’t value customers’ time who bring in for service or repairs. This is not the first time it has happened to me. So if you value your time, go somewhere else.

Brought my Honda in for an oil change. Was told price for the oil change was $ 19.99. Where I come from, that includes the oil, filter, «disc» fluid check and topping off, as well as a tire check and fill if needed. When I went to pay the bill (an hour later), I was told the $ 19.99 was for the «oil change». The added parts were more and the fluids and tires were never checked.

After going to this Honda dealer for service, I realized I’m going a little further to the one in Palm Harbor. They’re better in every way. This one overcharged me for a part I got for half the price at courtesy Honda in Palm harbor. Also, when I took my car in for maintenance, this one in New port Richey didn’t do ALL the required maintenance. Just the basic oil change. The one in P.H. was more thorough and checked everything. They did all the required maintenance, not just oil change.

Nice vehicles. However, talking bad about another dealers business practice is distasteful. It was a big turn-​off! They quoted us 6,000 less on trade, and stated the reason why we were provided with a much higher quote from a different dealer was because they sell domestic cars and they inflate to make it appear to be a better deal and not provide the customer with higher rebates. The truth is, they gave us the maximum of rebates allowed, and then some. There are many other reasons why I will not visit this store again, which I’ll leave out. Beware, and do your research, pay attention to your gut feeling.

I traded in my used car and told I would get 2000 $ for it. After a full day of looking at cars and getting financing I was signing all of the papers for the loan. Lucky for me I read these things. I was given 500 $ for my trade in. The man who was producing there’s papers for me could not explain why. And by this time my sales person had moved on to a new customer It has been more than a week. I figured I would receive a call asking how every thing was with the car. Nothing. Take the money and run. Be careful and read the papers. They will rip you off.

HORRIBLE! After purchasing a new 2012 CRZ two years ago we have sent family and friends resulting in an additional four car sales. Then I purchased a 2014 Honda CRV end of November. First thing was the Monroney sticker was not with the car (illegal) and it took me four weeks and Honda Corporate to get the dealer to do anything. Also, went with a question regarding excessive brake dust and on the phone they said to bring the vehicle in and they would look at it and then clean it to make sure it looked great. It took the service department 30 minutes to even acknowledge I was there and additional 90 minutes for them to say it was normal and that my vehicle was clean and ready. They did not even wash the car or even clean the rims. I went to Autoway Honda in Clearwater and they stated there was a bulletin regarding that and gave me all of the information I could have asked for. When I mentioned this to the sales person and Sales Manager (Abraham and Peter) they said that is not good we will take care of you and make it right. After 10 days I had not heard from them and called again. They stated we fired the girl that was the lead on service. How did that make it right with me when she obviously had bad training. Never received a call from the Sales manager or General Manger as they said they would. They called me a VIP customer due to all of the sales sent. If that is VIP I would hate to see how the handle a «normal» customer. Will not be back and will never send anyone there EVER!!!

This is the worst dealer I have ever dealt with. Every time I go for service, they try to upsell. When I told them I only wanted the service called for in the manual, they did not do any of the routine checking of the car called for. Last time I was there, one of the service people downloaded rap music on my hard drive. I asked the service advisor to tell the service guys not to do that and she said, no one could have done that. I guess it got there on its own. The dealer sent coupons via e-​mail, but the service advisor did not want to honor them. These people need to take a class in customer service. Yesterday was the last time I will go there. I will drive the half hour to get to a different dealer. Maybe the owner should go back to California.

Great Experience. I worked with Tony Farinella. He was both professional and straight with me. I received a great price on the CR-​V and the best offer on my trade-​in. Extremely refreshing after several visits to other dealerships in the Tampa Bay area who tried to screw me on my trade-​in Thanks Tony!

Ocean Honda claims on tv commercials that there are no dealer fees and that they will give you up to 125% of black book value for your trade. Obviously this is nothing more then a sales tactic to reel you in to going to the dealer. I went to the dealer to look at a used car. I was giving a very low ball offer for my trade in (and even told them I was offered more elsewhere) and because I had some negative equity on my current loan I was told that they wouldn’t finance me even though they also claim everyone will be approved. The salesman also said I would have to keep my car and run it into the ground because no one would finance me.
I was also told even if they could finance me my payments would be high and I was given a very high amount.
I left and they couldn’t have cared less. I went elsewhere, easily got financed and walked out with a used car for much less then the salesman said I wouldnt get elsewhere. I also got $ 3,000 more for my trade in.
A relative of mine went to this dealer 2 years ago when they were just Port Richey Honda and I thought from the stories he’s told me about them they would have changed since they became Ocean Honda, but I guess not. He went to get a new Civic. Was also low balled on his trade in, they wouldn’t haggle with the cost of the car and the salesman told him that he wouldn’t get the car cheaper elsewhere. He walked out and they couldn’t have cared less. Again they were wrong because he went elsewhere and walked out with a new Civic for $ 6,000 less then what Ocean Honda wanted and got $ 2,000 more for his trade in. The salesman also makes up false claims about the cars and Honda just to try and get a sale in. How these people stay in business is beyond me and I wonder if Honda corporate is ok with them turning away business and providing customers with false claims.
Stay clear of this dealer unless you want lies, headaches, and pay more then you should have to. There are a lot of Honda dealers in the Tampa area so shop around.

A Very polite & helpful staff … but 2.5 hours for oil change, tire rotation, and wash is too much.
Make sure you get dropped off and you won’t be disappointed.

The dealership has gone through a lot of changes with the multitude of owners… The core staff seems to be good, but the atmosphere is a little heavy. Started looking at a new Pilot, but got no followup from the person I spoke with. The jury is still out on this one.

Only an inherently BAD dealership can take a potentially good experience and turn it around into a negative one. Not only did they make off with a Class 3 hitch on our trade-​in but that was not enough for them to get for free. Now someone has been using our Sun Pass transponder that according to «Richard» is impossible b/​c «we remove all stickers from the vehicles we re-​sell.» Obviously NOT, Richard! Now this low-​life has put it in the negative balance and I have to pay their tolls to de-​activate it! What a bunch of scumbags. This reveals the heart of the organization and demonstrates total disregard for their customers! They deserve to go out of business and I hope this helps that process!!! My advice if you still choose to buy here is: involve someone just as shady in any dealings you have with Ocean Honda of Port Richey!

Best I have ever been treated at a dealership, and I did not even buy my cars there. Price for service was more than fair, I was treated like a princess! (And I am no princess) Thank you, JR, in Service Dept., you are great! And Anthoney in sales – I would buy a car from you! I went to this dealership before it became Ocean, and swore I would never set foot there again. I will go back until I have a reason not to. Very pleased!
