I was quite pleasantly surprised to find this shop. I’ve been to Port Townsend many times, but not in a couple of years(and I only took up knitting in the last couple years). I did not find the shop dark at all, in contrast with another reviewer. The lady who was there(I didn’t get her name) was very friendly and we chatted a bit about my project and why I thought I needed to start over with heavier yarn. The yarn selection was quite extensive and rewards some exploring as there is a long entry hallway with yarn in addition to the stock in the store proper. Prices were fair, even a bit nice given the location right on Water Street(the main tourist drag in town). I was particularly excited to find an extensive selection of Malabrigo yarn which I have been using for several small projects. I love the rich colors and the feel of their yarn and Diva Yarn had lots of it. I went in out of curiosity and walked out with 3 skeins and a definite intention to come back.

I visited many different yarn place across the country, and this store made an impression: great priced for a mom and pop business and very friendly people. I dragged my fiancé window shopping when we were in Port Townsend on a day visit; he sat outside the store on a little bench playing on his iphone while I wandered all over the store. I didn’t need more yarn but could not pass the great deal on 100% wool yarn ball. Fiancé is getting a new beanie. I disagree with the other reviewers: the staff was friendly and the place was not dark at all. The place is small but they do have a wonderful selection of yarns.

Great selection of well priced yarns. Fabulous sale bin and display. Knowledgeable staff and warm and friendly people. The store is small but packed with all kinds of fiber goodies! they also have an in store line of patterns for knitting and crochet written by Cathy in the store. Very cool.

I’ve gotten lovely yarns from Diva. The prices are pretty good, and there is a wide selection. If you are lucky enough to get there when Theresa is there, she has wonderful advice. Also, she’s very laid-back and friendly, not pushy at all.

After three visits to this shop I have yet to be acknowledged in any way by the staff. Not a greeting, nod or smile. The yarn selection is decent but the store is cramped and dark. Just greet your customers people!
