A quaint little sandwich shop that has a great variety of specialty sandwiches. The coffee is much better than you will ever find at any Starbucks. The atmosphere is great, my daughter loves the games they have available to play while you eat. My only complaint is the hours and the prices. There has been quiet a few times on the weekends you will find them randomly closed. Like one reviewer said, this is not a place to study and there is a seating problem sometimes. Overall, it is good choice in the very small town of Portales.

The food and service is top notch! Fresh and friendly! The prices are great and I never leave hungry. The new cinnamon-brown sugar ice cream is perfect on their German chocolate cake!

Always great sandwiches, my wife and I go quite a bit and have always had good things to say about the food and service. Having fresh sweet tea available doesn’t hurt things either! This is my favorite restaurant in the area!

This is my favorite restaurant in Portales. The staff is always friendly, the prices are reasonable, the coffee menu is diverse and excellent, and the same can be said for their sandwiches. Very fresh, absolutely stuffed at the seams, and every time I’ve gone there I haven’t been disappointed. When they were at their old location, they used to have live bands come in a lot– that was when I first ate there. I’ve been hooked ever since. Their new location is very homey– there’s a giant fireplace in middle of what I can only call the lounge, with a coffee bar at the back. They even have board games, puzzles, and books for families with kids. My favorite sandwich is the Green Monster– turkey, avocado, green chile… I haven’t tried many of their other sandwiches, but I haven’t been let down with the ones I have. If you’re passing through Portales and need a good place to eat, you won’t find anything better. Do Drop Inn is, in my opinion, the absolute best Portales has to offer.

I love the people and coffee here. The food is also delicious. Do know that it gets really packed. I’ve had problems with getting seating at times. Also, know that even though it’s a coffee house, it is not a place for studying or conducting any type of work. Weird weekend hours.

Had the«Fat Albert» sandwich, a large Frito Pie to go and a Chocolate Soda! Chocolate soda was made at my request, but they have a bunch of other soda flavors. Sandwich was made of turkey, ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato and strawberries on a bagel bun. No way! Fantastic and I must go back ASAP! My coworkers didn’t even want to leave because it was so comfy in there. Just a relax and eat spot. Nothing fancy.

We love to go here for sandwiches. My daughter loves the frito pies. Their new location really works! They have a great selection of teas and other drinks. The owners are often there and make you feel right at home. Also great to stop by for a dipped ice cream cone, pie, or other delicious desserts. They even have hot chocolate, games, and a cozy fire when the weather ouside is frightful.

Don’t mind if I Do Drop Inn! This place is so quaintly decorated! In the middle of downtown Portales, right off the main street, it’s a pretty ideal place to get coffee in the morning. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the Mother and Son duo who run the place. The son was really friendly and through our conversation I found out that he went to culinary school in Atlanta, Georgia! How cool is that? I didn’t have a chance to try any of his creations but I did have a chance to try the coffee. Just so you know… the coffee menu is extensive and they even have several pages of different combinations of flavors that they are«experimenting» with. Let me just tell you… I looked at this«experimental» drink list and thought it was a list for baked pastries, sweet treats, and all that other yummy goodness that your trainer says you’re not supposed to eat. For example, they had an Almond mocha latte, milky way coffee, buttered rum… something…(I forget), but it looked divine! I later realized that unfortunately, these were NOT cupcakes and ended up placing an order for a soy Milky Way coffee. I had the option of having chocolate sauce or chocolate syrup pumped into my coffee and I chose the chocolate sauce(I’m not much of a fan of that flavored syrup)… The coffee tasted just right. Most of the time, drinks at other coffee shops are too sweet, but Do Drop Inn’s coffee was just the right amount of sweetness balanced with the acidity/bitterness of espresso. It was the perfect«pick-me-up» on this chilly morning and I’ll definitely be making my way back around for some more of this delicious coffee… oh and did I mention that they have free wifi? That’s the perfect addition to this café for the busy, sleep-deprived college student. I’ll definitely be back!

The Grand Re-Opening of the Do Drop Inn hasn’t precipitated many changes in the establishment. For the most part the menu is the same, the décor is the same, and the overall quaintness is the same. I couldn’t be happier. I was very glad to see that the new owners kept my favorite sandwiches, and even more glad to see them use the outside dining space for musical entertainment during July. Whether you want a place to hang out on a weekend evening, or just want a sandwich from a great local eatery, the Do Drop is probably right up your alley.
