Specialties
We offer Behavior Modification — specializing in Timid/Fearful dogs and dogs who are Reactive (aggressive) when on leash. We also help with potty training, jumping, digging, barking, separation anxiety and other behavior issues you may be experiencing.
We also offer a variety of obedience packages. Our most popular obedience plan is our Puppy Package which includes a 2-hour in-home consultation to discuss all things Puppy along with 8 one-hour in-home private training sessions to teach basic house manners, public manners and prevent behavior issues before they arise.
For those who are too busy to train, or not comfortable being responsible for laying the foundation of training, we offer a 6-week Day Training package which includes three 30-minute sessions per week with the trainer and dog (no owners present), plus a 1-hour skills transfer session each week so the owners can begin using the newly taught skills. This package includes weekly video of the trainer working with your dog so you can see how the dog is learning and how we help the dog succeed when he has difficulty.
History
Established in 2009.
Nutz About Mutz! began life as Good Dog! Dog Training. We recently changed our name, but our philosophy and owner/trainer are the same. We hold to scientifically proven, non-aversive learning theory methods to train happy dogs who are eager to work with the owner, rather than who obey out of fear of consequences.
Meet the Business Owner
Jody E.
Business Owner
Jody Epstein, CPDT-KA, APDT has a graduate education in
experimental psychology with a focus in animal behavior and
learning. She has owned dogs all of her life.
Jody approaches all dog behaviors from a psychological/
motivational perspective, allowing her to explore the motivations
behind the behavior. If we understand why the behavior is
occurring, we can then effectively modify the behavior to one that
is more socially acceptable. Using a variety of force free methods
such as Counter Conditioning, Behavior Adjustment Training (BAT),
Look At That (LAT) and Click-to-Calm, Jody teaches owners how to set their dog up for success, allowing the dog’s confidence to improve as well as the relationship, trust and bond between pet and person.
