12:01 Computer Repair

These guys are great! My computer had been dead for years with all of my photos stuck on it. When I walked in, I was warmly greeted and given a price range along with the offer of a phone call if they needed to go over the quoted range. The only call I received was to tell me that my photos were safe on a USB drive and that it was the lowest price quoted.

Fast, friendly and they fixed my Mac quickly without making me feel like an idiot (which many techies do). They are amaaaaazing!

After five years and an interim upgrade, it was time for a new PC. I needed something fast with a lot of RAM, as my work requires significant multitasking. And, all the attractive Black Friday deals seemed geared to gamers and video watching, which isn’t what I need.
After talking with four different shops about a custom build, I made the decision to go with 12:01. And, was it ever the right choice! Kyle listened closely as I explained my work requirements, asked several on point questions & emailed me two quotes at different price points later that day. After a bit more discussion, I went with the higher priced & more powerful machine.
A week later, I’m now working on a super fast & quiet new PC that seems to be exactly what I need. All of my essential data was transferred over, and there was ample space to even install the hard drive from the old Dell for extra storage.
Five stars seem too few for these guys — They’re that amazing!

I’ve been trying to fix my custom-​built PC for over a year and had given up completely. I called up some shops around town and they quoted pretty high prices just for labor. I found 1201 online and the reviews were great, and now that my computer is back, I can say confidently that these guys exceeded my high expectations. The charges were reasonable, I was not talked down to, they were extremely friendly, and my computer is all fixed! Both the motherboard and graphics card were faulty, and they got me a replacement motherboard and then actually UPGRADED my graphics card for FREE! Now that is awesome. I will recommend this place highly to anyone who needs their PC fixed up quickly and painlessly.

Very professional! Everyone I spoke with was courteous and engaged.
When your computer is not working and you can’t get to your data it’s nerve racking. They all made me feel safe with leaving my computer with them to be repaired.
They worked fast and were great at communicating with me. It was all very straight forward. I also felt that it was affordable.

I just got my computer back from these people and I’m DELIGHTED. Four years ago, the track-​pad clicker on my then-​new MacBook Pro went bad. The Apple store quoted me a few hundred dollars to replace it, so I decided to do without. (The trackpad has a touch-​tap functionality option that makes the clicker unnecessary.) A year ago, a taxi driver dropped my computer (inside of a bag) and broke the screen. The local Mac store quoted $ 875 to fix that… which is way to much to spend on a five-​year-​old computer, so I decided to just live with that, too. But at the recommendation of a friend, I just had BOTH problems fixed for $ 390. WOW. Thanks, guys! Plus, they’re all really nice and clear in their communication. Wish I had known about them sooner.

I freaking love these guys. They saved the day when my husband’s work computer was royal f’ed up by another computer repair place and then gave us a great deal on a video card issue for my daughter’s computer. We’ve had nothing but good experiences with 12:01 and will continue going back.

Man, they are the bomb. Great friendly service. Found and repaired my desktop performance issue, and even added ram for just the standard labor charge. It now runs beautifly. These people are pros. Will definitely return next time I have any computer needs.

These guys are the shit. There is no comparison to any other computer repair shop I’ve ever been to. They don’t hustle you or treat you like an idiot, they don’t up-​sell you and the prices are fair.
I had an issue with a computer and they fixed it. I got home and a different issue popped up. I took the computer back to see if the two things were related. It didn’t seem that they were: a mere coincidence.
It turned out the second problem was tough to fix. The tech at 1201 put a huge amount of effort into getting it fixed.
When I picked the computer back up the charge was: $ 0.
The Tech said «We can’t be totally sure we didn’t cause this, so it’s on the house.»
That’s the sort of thing that keeps you coming back.
Oh yeah, I had them build me a game rig, and I am not disappointed!

During intake the friendly staffer diagnosed my problem and fixed it without charge. I very much appreciate the honesty and integrity of such a shop!
I have also left a computer with them for delousing from my son’s Minecraft binge. Not only was the original problem fixed, but the machine was optimized to run better.

Great advice on software and maintenance and prices were lower than all the places I checked out. The world would be a much better place if all businesses were run this well, and were so pleasant to deal with.

I broke my laptop screen because I didn’t pack it well enough for a cross-​country move. They gave me a good price and were honest about the possibility of it being dead for good or that I might lose all the data. Well, neither of those things happened and it’s so nice to have my laptop back.

Yet again these guys rock !
I brought my computer in because it was running slow and it was blinking and other bad stuff was happening.
12:01 found that I had a pretty nasty virus and needed a root canal.
Again, these guys got it done overnight and it wasn’t at all expensive.

I just had 12:01 Computer Repair build me a new desk top system
My 10 year old Dell 510 finally flamed out and I thought it better to have 12:01 do all of the work, build, transfer files, install software etc.
Why go to a big box store ?? I always buy & support local and independents.
Blake designed and built a super fast desk top for me within the estimated 1 week timeline
PLUS I was honored to be the first to use their new laptop loaner so I wasn’t completely cut off from the world. Essential for a 63 year old control freak like me.
Blake also patiently helped me set up the loaner to work at home w/​my wi fi.

After a few days use, today Eddie upgraded my old Dell keyboard and mouse to a wireless set up because the old peripherals were just not reliable.
100% after the sale support. Impressive

The Newtonian law of universal gravitation should be expanded from simply two objects attracting one another to also include that water is attracted to fragile electronics, most notably mine when air drumming becomes too frantic.
A splash of water that had clearly undergone years of ninja training for just this moment spilled onto the keyboard of my 2-​year-​old MacBook Pro, shorting some connections on its logic board and number keys. The folks at Apple, after trying a few things, said I should buy a new computer rather than attempt to have it repaired. Apple’s estimate for the repair if I left it with them was between $ 500 and $ 700, with a lead-​time of 2 to 4 weeks.
I decided to see if anyone else in the Portland area could do better, and I’m glad I did! (Thanks, fellow Unilocalers, for the reviews of 12:01). The good folks at 12:01 were very friendly, helpful, and upfront every step of the way, from the initial email, to dropping off my computer, to picking it up. The repairs cost only around $ 200 and took just over a week, meaning 12:01 saved me hundreds of bucks and weeks of waiting compared to Apple — and I didn’t need to buy a new computer. Eddie at 12:01 took care of some miscellaneous repairs while he worked on my logic board and keyboard, so my computer is now better than it was even before the spill.
The Genius Bar might be okay for simple software issues and diagnoses, but remember their job is to balance customer loyalty with getting some people to buy new computers too soon. If I ever know someone who spills something on their computer, I’ll tell them to skip Apple and go straight to 12:01. I’ve also been recommending them to my friends who have had to sit through my story of my computer’s Phoenix-​like rebirth as a fully functional devourer of my precious time. And now I’m recommending 12:01 to you, anonymous Unilocal reader who is likely freaking out about your recently broken computer. (Side note: if you want to graduate from anonymous Unilocal reader to my friend, I can be plied with ale.)
Anyway, I don’t want to understate how enjoyable Eddie and Blake at 12:01 were to deal with. I thought these guys offered great service and workmanship. They brought my laptop back to life by installing a new harddrive. I had been running in safe mood for the last few months and I just kept putting off this difficult chore.
How do I find someone I trust to check out my laptop and provide solutions to registry errors, or blue screen? I had a techie friend look at it, but he was stymied.
The fellas at 12:01 were concise, informed, and easy to talk to. The job was completed in a timely manner and I was not in a hurry.
$ 250 for a new harddrive and all my items saved. Glad I tried them out and I would recommend. So far, so good.

I found it when I was looking on Unilocal for a hard drive repair place. They fixed my problem and were very friendly and very knowledgable. I just today got back my Mac book that I shorted out the keyboard with alcohol. They replaced my toasted touch pad and key board as well as the replaced the battery that was bulging and barely worked.
Thanks to 12:01, I have new life in my machine. I will bring them more business soon, as I have other repairs on other machines to do.

I took my 2008 Macbook to these guys, and I’m super impressed with the results. My computer is old and acted like it. It ran *very* slowly and the battery was shot. I was about to throw in the towel and drop major dinero on a new Mac, but I decided to give these guys a try.
I just got my computer back, and it’s running like a charm! They seriously resurrected my baby. They also did it quickly and kept me super informed about the price and how long it would take. I have a great computer again for a fraction of what a new Mac would cost. These guys are the best, have no qualms about it.
