Meet the Business Owner
VJ Kittyrox L.
Business Owner
VJ Kittyrox started her DJ career in 1986, making her first 80s mix tape at age nine. A short time later, she fell deeply in love with Adam Curry and remained glued to MTV during the channel’s greatest era. She continued her mix tape/MTV obsession through the 90s when she became a college DJ for KUGS in Bellingham, Washington. She relocated to Portland and started DJ’ing at a local bar playing an eclectic mix of music. However, she could never get those songs from that original tape out of her head – Word Up, Walk Like an Egyptian, and Into the Groove were still the ultimate dance songs and she set out on a path to spread the 80s word to Portland. In 2005, VJ Kittyrox started her own exclusively 80s dance night with accompanying videos and 80s Video Dance Attack was born.
Over the course of the last 10+ years her weekly event has grown from a small gathering of regulars to a Portland phenomenon.
