Aimee J’Adore

Aimee did my hair and makeup for my wedding, as well as hair and makeup for my mom and for my bridesmaids. She did a great job of making us all look our best and helping us feel relaxed and pampered on my big day. I love that she does lash extensions as I am allergic to mascara and so wanted an option to still make my eyes stand out on the big day and the lashes did just that. She is professional and warm and does a great job!

Aimee did my hair and makeup for my May 3^rd 2015 wedding and she was such a joyful, calming energy on such a high volume, busy day! She was so accommodating to my hectic schedule for our trial and even squeezed me in for it days before the wedding! She was open to my novice suggestions and made me feel very comfortable through the entire process. She gave me such piece of mind that I would not only look beautiful the day of my wedding but that I would look like me. I would recommend Aimee to anyone considering hiring someone to do their hair and/​or makeup! Thank you again Aimee and I can’t wait to come in and see you again!

I made my appointment with Aimee to get my hair dyed about a month ago and day of my appointment I get to her salon and I guess she forgot about my appointment? I drove out of my way an hour to find that her salon was locked up and closed. No offer for rescheduling or anything. Pretty bummed.

I had two perfectly good last experiences with Aimee. The third was a disaster. The first day I felt lashes pulling at each other. I looked in the mirror and tried to comb out my lashes as advised. The each fake lash should each be attached on one of my own lash only, making it easy to comb through my lashes, My brush would be stuck into a clump of 3 – 5 lashes all glued together. The pulling sensation was a lash from millimeters away being stuck to another down the line, pulling my skin as I blinked. So painful! Each eye had many clumps like this. I tried to sleep that night but all I felt was the pulling. The second day I applied coconut oil to my lashes and gently massaged them as I remember being told that oil breaks down the glue and makes them not stick as long. Some came out but there was so many more painful lashes, I had to keep going to get relief. It was a horrible experience. Aimee contacted me quite a few days to a week later regarding the situation as she told me she was sick. She would not refund, only replace. I had barely any lashes to adhere to so a replacement wasn’t a good consolation. I won’t be going back to lash extensions any time soon.

Aimee did my makeup this past summer for my wedding. She and her team of girls did a fantastic job on the bridesmaids, but I was disappointed with her approach and job on me. I went in for my initial trial with ideas and pictures that she ended up disregarding. She just went right into it. This isn’t necessarily bad, but I tried to convey to her my preferences and makeup styles that I don’t feel work for me. It’s as if she didn’t hear me, which was frustrating since the trial was $ 75 and I didn’t love it.
Because makeup artists were getting booked up quickly for summer, I felt pressured into committing. I understand that this is my fault, because our personalities did not click. But she told me to think about what I liked/didn’t like before the wedding, and she would incorporate my changes.
The day of the wedding was a bit frustrating. Again, she and her partners did a beautiful job on the bridesmaids. But after discussing my trial and what I wanted differently, she applied my make up and I wasn’t any happier than I had been at trial. I asked her to adjust my make up several times, while asking for input from my mom and auntie. Aimee was visibly irritated that I kept asking for my mother and aunt’s opinion, which I very much did not appreciate.
Overall, my bridesmaids looked beautiful. I looked good conventionally, but not how I envisioned I would look on my wedding day. Despite Aimee’s talent, I feel that I am too particular with my own make up that I should have just done it myself. Our communication was not comfortable, and I was not made to feel comfortable politely critiquing her art.
Despite my experience, I would still recommend her as a makeup artist in general, but not for someone who is extremely particular like me.

I can’t say enough great things about Aimee. Not only does she make my eyelashes look fabulous, she is so fast and very affordable. She is kind and fun and always works hard to get me in when she is booked up. And I love her shop — cozy and sweet. She is so friendly ad helpful. I am so glad I found her.

Love Her. I had another makeup artist booked months before my wedding, and then ran into some issues and had to scramble to find someone else with less than a month before my date. I contacted several vendors and they were all booked. I am SO GLAD that I ended up finding Aimee, and that she miraculously had an opening for me on my wedding day! I was so stressed with this situation, but the moment I listened to Aimee’s voice mail telling me that she could work with me, my stress started to melt away. Aimee is awesome, so so sweet and she made me look amazing. Also she is fun to be around, and the whole experience was relaxing and just wonderful. I had a trial run, and I was really pleased with the results. I let her know about the few minor changes that I wanted, and so on my wedding day everything was perfect! To be honest, at the beginning of wedding planning I wasn’t sure if getting professional makeup was worth the money. It absolutely was. Not only did it look great, but everything stayed in place ALL DAY, so I didn’t have to worry about my hair or makeup getting messed up during the wedding. Don’t worry about it and just HIRE AIMEE!

Aimee recently did my hair and makeup for my wedding at Edgefield. She was amazing. She did my makeup and hair as well as two of my bridesmaids. She was quick and efficent. Super easy to talk to you and made you feel comfortable and relaxed. It was the most relaxing part of my day! Everyone loved my hair.

Amiee is very good at putting on eyelashes! I was looking around for someone who would get three of us in for a birthday treat to the birthday girl in our party, and Amiee was the best. She got us all in and got our eyelashes on and out the door in no time flat. She is very efficient, professional and easy to work with. Aimee also sat us all down and carefully showed us our options in eyelashes and explined the whole process to us throughly. I highly recommend her!

My sister was getting married so we all decided to get eyelash extensions done. Aimee did an amazing job on all 4 of us. Customizing each of our lashes. She did such a great job and so quickly. We looked awesome! Aimee was super friendly and the salon was beautiful. I wish I could give 6 stars. :)

Aimee is awesome. She is so much fun and she did a great job. My 2 sisters and my Mom and I all got lash extensions for my wedding. Aimee scheduled all four of us consecutively and opened up specially for us. She greeted us warmly, gave us the ‘orientation’ and did a quick and painless application (customized, of course) for all of our lashes. Aimee is a total lash pro, which is nice since none of us had ever gotten this done before. We felt comfortable with her and just had a good time in general. The salon is beautiful and clean… if I were in Portland for longer, I would have tried out other services offered there. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to try out lash extensions!!!

After weeks of searching for the perfect hair and makeup stylist for my April 2013 wedding, I came across Aimee J’Adore. I’m so glad I did! She was so sweet over the phone before meeting, and I instantly liked her and felt at home. I was looking for someone who would make me and my sister (my maid of honor) look natural but who would also be able to create the styles my sister and I wanted.
I went in for my trial and loved that Aimee made suggestions as to what she thought would look good but was willing to go in a different direction without trying to convince me otherwise if I wanted something else (different shape of eye liner, eye shadow color). She also tried out different hairstyles during the trial 2 – 3 times to make sure I was happy with the style. My makeup looked so natural, and the foundation and powder weren’t cakey at all (my fear!)
We went in on the morning of the wedding, and it really was a great way to start the day. The salon was quiet, had lots of natural light, and Aimee was chipper while still being calm. A great presence when the bride is tired, cranky, and nervous! She even let me sleep on the massage table in the back room while my sister got her hair and makeup one so I could rest before it was my turn. She got everything done in a timely manner without feeling rushed, which was so helpful as we had so many things coming up the rest of the day we couldn’t be late for.

Aimee was an absolute delight PERIOD. I live in Seattle and had my wedding in Portland and she provided me and my party the utmost flexibility and show-​stopping results. I appreicated her kind nature, her professional hand, her access to assistants who helped out the day of. She added extensions for fullness to my hair (worn down) and make-​up to touch up throughout the day (lipstick & powder, b/​c everything else she did stayed to perfection all, day, long).
Two of my ladies opted for up-​dos and they were young and fresh; my friend with short hair was styled with the cutest curls, and the girls with their hair down – all had beautiful wavy curls that any VS model would envy.
Aimee’s knack for foundation matching leaves you with baby perfect skin you’ve always longed for; her delicate touch and placement makes your falsies appears as if they were yours, and her amazing spirit makes you feel at ease and as if you’ve known her for years.
Aimee is the real deal. Do not go to some cheap-​o salon. It’s not worth it.

I recently used Aimee’s hair and makeup styling services for my wedding. Aimee styled my hair & makeup, my mom’s hair & makeup, and hair for our officiant, a bridesmaid and flower girl. I absolutely LOVED my hair (intricate yet subtle braided up-​do) and makeup, and the others loved their styles, as well.
Aimee was very open to feedback and was responsive to different requests. For example, I wanted to wear a specific eye shadow shade I have that I love, and she worked it in. Also, my darling flower girl wanted a specific style («two braids on the side that come together in the back with curls» and that’s exactly what she got! She encouraged me to be open with my preferences and feedback, both during the trial run appointment and the actual day-​of. She took photos and very good notes during the trial run and was thus very prepared to re-​create my look. She was prompt and worked quickly yet did an amazing, detailed job for each style.
Personally, Aimee is very sweet and has a fun, easy-​going demeanor. I know she works with tons of brides every year, but definitely made me like she was focused on me individually, and focused on making me the most beautiful bride ever (and that’s definitely how I felt!)
I have already recommended Aimee to my future sister-​in-​law and highly recommend her to any bride!

I’m a guy who, until recently, was going to Supercuts for haircuts. Every time I went, I’d imagine myself getting a really talented stylist who would give me a beautiful haircut that people would compliment. It never happened.
I’ve started going to Janelle EXCLUSIVELY for my hair, and now my wish has come true: people DO stop and say how much they like my hair. I always feel great about how I look after a visit.

Janelle is great. I get great compliments when she cuts my hair. My wife is going to her now.
My wife was concerned that with her very curly hair she would not be able to find a stylist that can really give her a good cut. Janelle is a professional, willing and able to do wonderful modern haircuts for me and my wife.

My beloved hairstylist, Janelle Winter, has just moved to Aimee J’Adore – my first appointment at her new location was today. The salon is pretty, welcoming, and spotlessly clean!
Janelle was magnificent as always (yes, I followed her from her last location! She’s more than worth it). I always feel about ten years younger (and a whole lot happier) after she gets her hands on my hair, and today was no exception! She also did beautiful cuts for my daughter (16) and my mom (80) – three generations of women left extremely happy.
So, I’ll continue to drive down from Seattle to get my hair done for as long as Janelle will have me! :)

Most days of the week I’m lucky if I put makeup on. I’m usually running around between work and workouts looking flush, hair tied back, and pretty much not so glam. Since I have about 15 minutes to shower and get super model gorgeous between workouts and work, or hike and going out with the hubby and friends, I decided I needed a little help from a pro to make my minimal beauty regimen go a little further.
Lash extensions — Figured I’d give them a whirl. Baby doll eyes with or without makeup. I’ll take that! Aimee put these on yesterday and so far they’ve survived sleep and a morning workout. You’d be surprised at how great you can look overall even when your lashes are the only thing that isn’t a hot mess. They don’t feel heavy and they didn’t get in my way. I am a little nervous to wipe my face but I’m sure I’ll get used to them soon. I’ll get a touch up next week before my vacation so she can check to see if I’ve done any damage during my «get to know you» stage with these new flirty lashes of mine.
Hair color — Aimee’s a pro. I really just wanted her to make me look better. She did. She has a great eye for color and what will look good on someone. I trusted her expertise and I am not disappointed.
Brazilian Blow Out– Dude. I am so going to try this next week. I’ve heard about it but I never thought about doing it. I don’t know why. My hair is a monster that takes a ton of work to tame. When I workout it frizzes. When I visit my in-​laws in the south it frizzes — even after flat ironing. Any style I create in the morning can be destroyed by weather or sweat. Well, I shall let you all know how it turns out. I’m excited! Less work on a daily basis to look beautiful? You are speaking my language!

Aimee is doing a fantastic job, with great personality and utmost professional. Will definitely use her service for my future photography need.

Praise the good Lord I finally was able to book an appointment somewhere for eyelash extensions for a wedding. Do you know how hard it is to get a hold of one of these places for an appointment??? Some people hardly even get back to you unless you leave multiple messages like a stalker and call on their supposed CLOSED days and they answer the phone finally. I caught ya! I’m looking at you… (a Chicago based eyelash place). I also couldn’t land an appointment in Chicago because everybody was booked on days and times I was available to skip on over for a session. It’s wedding season people! I guess I shoulda known to book months in advance not weeks. No sarcasm there. Soooo I resorted to trying to book in Portland instead. I just wanted to do something fun and extra for my brother’s wedding. And when mama wants something, mama gets it!
I was considering Aimee for hair and makeup actually but saw on her site that she also does lash extensions. (my hair and makeup ended up being done elsewhere because of time restrictions) Please have an opening, please. And she did, calling me back promptly to try and fit me in somewhere. Love it. She was super sweet to deal with over the phone and in person. I told her that just in case I have to babysit my little 7 year old brother that afternoon if it’d be okay if I bring him along and that he can be quiet if need be and is really well behaved cuz my parents spank him. Just kidding my parents don’t do that. They’re getting old and only want him to have nice memories of them so says my dad :-D Aimee was totally cool with that. I was happy with the end result.
