History

Established in 1987.

Rich Aanrich started our center as «A Positive Change» in the late 1980’s when he arrived in Portland. Building the business on reputation and honor was the way he chose to introduce NLP, Hypnosis and Counseling. In 2001, Cat Wilson joined the team and using all their skills, abilities and imagination they recreated the ongoing center to Apositiva, which is about defining and supporting a positive change. We have grown to support private sessions, training classes for the public and professionals.

Meet the Business Owner

Cat W.

Business Owner

Cat Wilson learned about hypnosis in the 1970’s. After years of work in business and an education in art, communication, business, and education, she joined Rich. They frequently share the training floor with fun and flair.

Cat is a mother of three grown children, and many grandchildren. She enjoys time to sketch, write, read, walk in nature, and celebrate with friends and family. Café Characters, her artwork, has been featured in Starbucks.

An Interesting story is that Cat was quite shy as a child. She took it on as a challenge to overcome her fear of speaking and did sales. As a «Thank you to Life» she created a program called «A Voice for Kids» and spent 12 years in elementary schools working with children of learning disabilities. This Pro-bono program taught children to experience confidence in expressing their ideas and Cat led them on to a cable access tv station after eight weeks, where they gave a show with their speeches. Cat listens with heart.
