I don’t give 5 stars often but I don’t know what could be better than AA. The staff is helpful, they have most of what you could want and have great hours and prices. This is an inexpensive sport one you spend $ 200-​$ 1000 on your gear. Great for kids and groups. We are going to have a bday party here in a few months.

This place is AWESOME for an older child birthday party. We had 5 kids plus my two and it was the perfect amount. A pretty comprehensive lesson by a great, patient guy – Brandon. I can’t recommend a birthday party place more for a unique experience. You do need to bring some stuff to decorate, but they also put up streamers and a birthday sign. I’ve never planned an easier party

Went in to find some info on my first bow. This place was outstanding! I worked with Bob the whole time and he set up a model for me to try knowing i couldn’t by that day. He worked to make sure it was properly sighted and fit to me. I’m sold! I know exactly what I want and I’m buying it there. If the other employees are anything like Bob, it’s no wonder this place has been around for 30 some odd years.

The employees are great, but Jim is a cheap piece of shit, he sold me a defective peep sight which caused my string to snap slamming the cam into the top limb and breaking it. He will take no responsibility for selling defective products. It’s disgusting behavior from a business owner. Don’t trust him with anything.

I was here for a work event and had a good time. Everyone is really helpful on the phone while scheduling the event as well as on the day of. They had a groupon going on and the current deal is decent too. Would recommend it to any group of people who wants to try something new when the weather is not the best outdoors.

This place is great! Took the whole family here for a private lesson. Bob was really cool and we really enjoyed the class. We used the range after the class and had a great time. We plan on coming back for sure! Excellent service.

I went in over the holidays to get my husband a recurve bow as a surprise gift. The lady that helped me knew exactly what she was doing. I was in a hurry, but she helped me find the right bow for my husband the gear that he needed to get started. He was surprised, and I can’t thank them enough. The store is a little cramped, and would do well to move into a larger space. If you are looking for archery supplies, this is the place. They even have lessons and a shooting range.

I went here today for a Groupon class, and as a worker in the service industry I know how dreaded Groupon is for workers.
First off the class was amazing! the guy that instructed us was funny, knowledgeable, and although you could tell he has taught this class so many times that he was on auto pilot however, he remained genuine. In fact, it was so much fun I was about to go buy a bow from them.
What made me not buy a bow from them was the lady that was working the counter. This lady was so ungodly rude to me when I checked in.
When I showed up and told her that I had a Groupon for the class her face made a scowl asked for my name and when I turned to ask my girlfriend about something yelled that she needed the Groupon. Afterwards she didn’t say any parting words, no «The class will be starting soon!» or «The instructor will be with you!» just another scowl while she turned around.
So instead of buying a bow from them I spent $ 250 online for a set up. I like supporting local but if she acts like on the daily then I assume she is the owner and I would rather support an online store then a local one.

After waiting longer to get an ordered bow than a custom bow from another shop, the staff (that bothered to ask if we needed help) wasn’t much help. They did a sloppy job setting up the bow, after doing it wrong the first time and trying to keep parts that we had paid for. Didn’t bother tuning the bow to the shooter (my mom) and just all around didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing. The shop itself has a poor, cramped layout with no organization whatsoever. The shooting range is just raw hay bales where if you hit between them you can say goodbye to your arrow. Not worth it even if they are cheaper.

My favorite day of the week is my archery lesson here with my daughter. The staff and instructors are excellent!

5 of us (3 adults, 2 teens) came in for a 30 minute lesson. Had a GREAT time. We were greeted as soon as we came in, had a young male instructor who was attentive, instructive, and fun. With his help we honed are skills in the private class room upstairs for 30 minutes then went downstairs to play on the indoor range.
We were told we could break for lunch, which we did for an hour, then came back and shot some more arrows for another hour.
Really appreciated the laid back attitude and we will definitely come back again with more friends.

Went in last week looking for a new bow. I was greeted pretty quickly when I came in and was set up with a bow, arrows and the shown the lanes. The now was in my price range an shot pretty well, I asked what else they had and Jim told me that was the best for the price range but set me up with another bow. I liked that one enough to buy it. This place gets up and down reviews and my only advise would be to be patient if they are busy an ask questions. If you don’t act or ask for hand holding you won’t get it. For me I felt the service was perfect.

It was kinda hard to find this place but I did. Got most of my Archery Gear and have come back for supplies time and again. They have almost everything you need. Great deals. Archery Clubs and a Couple Indoor Ranges. Don’t bother looking at the wwweb site yet as like most Archery Web Sites, It Sucks! Cool pics though.

Wow this place is a joke! Passed by three employees and they didn’t even ask a question or offer any help. I have managed retail stores for ten years and this place may not care or have experience to operate a business. I won’t be spending my $ 1500.00 there!

Everyone was rude asked for service twice and kept getting ignored I will never never come back to these ass holes again

Two days ago I sighted my bow in for over an hour and the only thing I wanted to change was my peep. I went in to Archer’s yesterday and after 3 compressions in their press to change different peeps the bow flew apart in my hand. Archers refuses to accept any responsibility even though my bow was fine the day before and offered to help me out with a $ 40 discount on their $ 200+ mistake. I’ve since had two shops who are helping me fix my bow look at the damage and everyone but Archers is in agreement that the misaligned cables rolled the edge over on the cam tracks resulting in the damage.
Lesson learned — Make sure you trust your bow mechanic and the shop you choose has enough integrity to stand behind their work, good or bad!

The beginning archery class is better than nothing, although not taught in an instinctive way. The shop however is like one of those dysfunctional businesses featured on «Tattoo Rescue» — that is, very crowded, dark and poorly laid out, with indifferent staff lounging about who cannot be bothered to do much more than nod in the general direction where merchandise might be found — but isn’t. Very bow-​hunting-​oriented, this outfit has got to be among the least desirable local options for traditional archery. Suggest you check out one of the other archery shops in the metro area (hint: including across the river) if that is your interest.

Went in with a «30-​minute lesson for 4» Groupon and were very happy with the experience! The young lady walked us through bow safety and gave us some basic tips on stance, body position, bow grip, etc. None of us had ever used a bow/​arrow before (unless you count as kids some 30 years ago) but within 15 – 20 minutes she had us launching with surprising consistency at the targets 10 yards away. Then we were allowed to shoot to our hearts content until our shoulders/​backs/​wrists got tired (which happened for the adults much quicker than for the 10– and 12-​year-​old. Later on, for a challenge, we backed up and launched from 15+ yards.
We had such an amazing time we’re strongly considering a multi-​visit punchcard or maybe even a family pass for a year of shooting (if I understood that correctly). We definitely plan on being back!
It’s definitely a no-​frills sort of place, as somebody else mentioned; but if that keeps the prices reasonable, it works for me. I’m there for the archery, not for feeling like I’m in Macy’s.

After my coworker raved about how fun archery was, I decided to get the Groupon for a group of 4 lesson. There were 5 of us though, one last minute addition who was willing to pay extra. But he didn’t blink an eye and led us as a group to their upstairs area. It’s a small studio that we had for ourselves. It’s was a quiet & nice environment to learn archery. Teacher was really good, teaching us the good forms and correcting us as necessary. I was shooting arrows in no time! Then we were let loose in the main area, shooting as long as we wanted. It was a lot of fun!
It’s really easy to pick up archery — you can just come by, they have day passes and bow/​arrow rentals. There are plenty of bows to choose from, so you can try out different weights before deciding on the one that’s good for you. Everyone is very helpful and eager to teach newbies to the sport.
They also sell hunting/​archery stuff, with a separate smaller range to try out the gear in a more intimate setting. That and all the camo, how can’t you fall in love with archery? :)
PS: the place is a bit hidden, you need to go to the back of the strip mall to see the store front.

Thank you for making archery cool for girls AND boys. We started visiting Archers Afield about a year ago for time on the range. But my most recent (and best) experience was hosting a birthday party there. Talk about easy…
It is hidden in the lower level of a strip mall just a few blocks off 217 and Highway 99. To adequately set your expectations, this is what I consider a no frills venue. As the mother of boys, they really aren’t terribly interested in amenities, so it was perfect. But, as the host, you really need to bring everything with you to make it festive (food, drinks, decorations, cake, etc.). Although they do have some drinks and a freezer full of novelty ice cream treats.
The party space is a private range with six targets and a long table and chairs. This was great for kids because the space was entirely ours (we didn’t worry about bothering other customers on the main range with the noise) and the targets were much closer. Because it was a birthday party, the staff added small balloons to the standard shooting targets.
It was easy to reserve the space and no deposit was required. Overall, I found the prices to be very reasonable, especially in comparison with some of the other venues I’ve chosen in the past (Sky High, Lasertag, Bullwinkles, etc.). The party package included rental of the bows and arrows, some instruction and 2-​hours of private range time.
A few ways to make your party even better:
1) Customize targets. They were receptive to us bringing in our own (within reason, I’m sure).
2) Decorations. Space is very utilitarian, so you could really have some fun theming it out.
3) Food. Unlike the vast majority of other venues, you can bring in outside food. This was so refreshing. There is also a pizza place nearby, so they can include this in your party if you want them to take care of it for you.
4) Freezer. They do have a small freezer, so having an ice cream cake was no problem. We had a child with a nut allergy that I wasn’t aware of ahead of time, so he got to choose one of their ice cream treats instead. Problem solved.
I thought the instruction was good and she found a nice balance of surpervising our group of older kids and then letting us manage the process. For kids, you do need some parental/​adult supervision depending on the age and ability of your guests. It wouldn’t have been nearly as relaxing for me if this was a party of 8-​year olds whose parents did the drop and run.
We also visited Broken Arrow in Milwaukie as an alternate venue. A whole different beast. And while they may have excellent products, they really aren’t set up to host parties (one range, long targets, more expensive). We are considering purchasing a bow for our son and the entry point for a compound bow was around $ 500 there. We are more interested in a used starter bow, and found better options at Archers Afield. They also have all the related materials including camo bikinis. Katniss would not approve.
