All I can say is: WOW! I’m blown away by the Authentic Cuban Food cart I recently stumbled upon in downtown Portland! This is a food establishment that pushes out the best Cuban food this side of Habana (Abuela)!! The couple that runs the food cart are Duniesky and Yanexis are some of the two sweetest and hardworking people in the food scene. They came from Cuba not too long ago and worked their way up to open their own food cart, making ropa veija, lechon, yuca & plantanos! Also they make their own pastelitos, which look mouthwatering! I’m a Cuban girl that lived in Miami for a long time and I can say they safely cover the Cuban staples! I am also happy that they accommodate my vegan lifestyle without hesitation.

FINALLY REAL CUBANS IN PORTLAND! These guys rocked our world today! Alicia and I lived in Miami for 20 – 25 years and have not been able to find PERFECT and AUTHENTIC Cuban Food since we’d left… NOT a West Coast wannabe… this cute couple just arrived here from Cuba 6 months ago! They stopped in Miami fort a couple of weeks, took jobs here for 6 months, and saved up enough to open up their own cart. These guys are AWESOME!
I had the beautiful pork Lechon, served with perfect black beans and rice, sweet plantains, tostones, a small green salad, and yucca in garlic sauce. It took me right back to the hot streets of Calle Ocho in Miami… back to our old home in the sweaty sun! the chef came out and gave me a taste of his Ropa Vieja — shredded saucy beef with peas and carrots… INSANELY GREAT!
Don’t think twice Portland… Go here and give these guys a try. A REAL TREAT addition to the downtown and Portland proper food scene!
