I met David when we were looking for a new accountant four years ago, when he was still in California. He met us downstairs, because I’m in a wheelchair and was unable to get up to their office (no elevator). He has been our accountant since then. He helped with my business, handles my Dad’s trust and our personal taxes all from Ohio! That first time meeting him was the last personal meeting. All our filings are done by talking on the phone of necessary and through the secure portal. I feel very secure having him handle everything, he is the best and we trust him.

I had a quick (and rather urgent) question about a W-​9 form I was filling out for my newly formed LLC, so left a voicemail for David saying I’d like to come in and chat about it. He got back to me very quickly, but instead of scheduling an appointment, he walked through my problem with me over the phone. No charge. Great customer service, and I wasn’t even a customer yet!
I’m definitely a customer now. I’d been looking for a good local CPA anyway, for my LLC stuff and also for my family’s personal tax needs and so on. As far as I’m concerned, David has my business for as long as he wants it.

David Bartolme is a godsend for small business owners. I met him at a networking event, and was first drawn to him when I heard him talking about how he had just moved to Portland because he wanted to live in a place that values community and humanity, instead of the very money-​centric culture he’d been in while working in CA.
Once I got to talking with him, it was immediately clear that he is also INCREDIBLY knowledgeable about accounting and tax issues. I’ve never felt more confident that the person I’m dealing with really understands the intricate details of the law, and the implications of how accounting and tax filing are managed.
