Specialties

If Monks lived in Portland, this would be their watering hole. Full service bar bringing centuries of Belgian inspired beer and food under one roof plus a premium liquor selection. Explore with a nationally recognized Bier-Cocktail or simply sip on a glass of wine or whiskey.

As a Euro-theme establishment we embrace bringing community together through sports. Watch every local team (Blazers, Ducks, Timbers) on our 114″ HDTV.

Named Top 100 Beer Bars in America by DRAFT Magazine (2014, 2015) and Top 10 Portland Beer Bars by the Oregonian (2014)

History

Established in 2011.

Bazi Bierbrasserie resides in a 1925 building. We remodeled a cavernous space and brought a piece of Belgium to Portland.

Just like some of the European bars we’ve visited, we wanted Bazi to become a destination point for bringing community together through local sports all while enjoying unique craft beer. Today, we feature 17 rotating taps, bottles, a premium liquor selection as well as wine. Our brasserie style food menu provides the ability to choose from a varied selection of dishes influenced by the French, Dutch, and Spanish.

Meet the Business Owner

Hilda S.

Business Owner

After 15 years in the high tech industry, I was blessed with a layoff. Blessed you say? Yes, because I always wanted to open my own bar after working in the service industry through my college years. The idea of having to make so many sacrifices and the high risk of failing kept me from moving forward with it.

Growing up in a blue collar, migrant and entrepreneurial family the philosophy has always been to follow your dreams by working hard, knowing that if all fails, family is there to help you bounce back on track. And so, I cashed out all my retirement, took all the lessons learned from my previous experiences and travels abroad, dusted that business plan that I started in graduate school and with the guidance of friends and industry folks, Bazi was born.

This bar is about celebrating life and the sacrifices, the ups and downs and everything in between. Enjoy great beer, whether local or imported, and surround yourself by people that will inspire you to be great in all you do!
