Meet the Business Owner

Dusti D.

Business Owner

Originally, an East Texas girl, Dusti move to Colorado and raised three children while working full time for a public utility. Along the way, Dusti has explored cross stitch, hand weaving, stamping, and paper crafts. All have answered her need to create and to express her artistry. But beading became her true love; she’s been doing it for over 30 years. And for over 20 years, Dusti dreamed of her own bead store, where she could offer the best products, the ones she’d discovered through personal experience.

Dusti brought that dream with her to Portland in 1996, and «Beads At Dusti Creek» became a reality in 2005.

The goal of BDC is to offer the best beads available, at the best possible prices, in an atmosphere that encourages experimentation and expression. Knowing what bead artists want, need, and desire is easy when one has faced the same challenges. And creating a welcoming environment for the new beader helps them learn, and find the joy of a successful beading project.
