Ben & Jerry’s

When you compare this one to the one on Hawthorne, this one his just about as good. The ice cream is amazing as usual, it brings out the spirit of Vermont more, and definitely bring out this amazing energy that no other ice cream place has.

I wanted to try this place to compare it to salt and straw and store bought ice cream. I found it to be reasonably priced. I had the coffee flavor (always do) except this one had chunks of chocolate on a waffle cone, I feel it was too sweet as were the others I tried. Otherwise the service was excellent and we got to try a few before we actually chose what to purchase.

Soft, creamy, very flavored ice cream intertwined with dark chocolate chucks… poetry inside your mouth! Yummy!

Not much to say. It’s Ben & Jerry’s ice cream so 5 stars for that. The customer service was dreadful. The folks behind the counter were slow and rude. They acted like we were an inconvenience asking for ice cream. The pints sold in the store were way more than that at the grocery store.

Stopped in for a scoop and went with Peanut Butter Banana. Definitely my favorite flavor to date.
If they only sold this flavor as pints in stores near me, the World would be a better place!

First off… why didn’t I reward that coveted 5^th star of perfection? Well because dammit I really had my heart set on «Chubby Hubby» and while they had a lot of great flavors to choose from they just did not have that one flavor that I was craving ever so badly. I don’t eat B&J’s too often because I’d blow up like Violet Beauregard, but a couple of times a year I will most definitely indulge in some «Chubby Hubby.»
For those not necessarily in the know this flavor consists of: Vanilla Malt Ice Cream with Peanutty Fudge-​covered pretzels with Fudge & Peanut Buttery Swirls… my heart is a flutter just thinking about it, but alas with them not having it then all I can do is continue to dream… dream like those geniuses Ben & Jerry!

and as you can see I went with Phish Food which is: Chocolate Ice Cream with Gooey Marshmallow Swirls, Caramel Swirls & Fudge Fish. The whole thing was most delicious and really reminded me of Rocky Road. I don’t remember seeing or feeling the Fudge Fish at all, but oh well… I was still in creamy heaven.
The kid working was very nice and informative.
It wasn’t very busy so there was still plenty of seating available. I think maybe despite the fact that the weather was a bit on the warmer side that maybe Ice Cream shops are still not that popular… I don’t know. Décor was vibrant, clean, and welcoming.
Parking can be found on the nearby streets or garages.

After leaving the Teardrop Lounge, we decided the best treat would next be some good ol’ Ben and Jerry’s. We were going to split one, so I let him choose.
I checked in and it upgraded us to a Waffle Cone. Now those are those great little check-​in deals that make the whole situation a little sweeter.
He chose the «Late NIght Snack», which was great. I even managed to get a couple bites in… lol.

its B&J, im fairly certain everyone is aware of their quality product and off the wall flavors by now. The only way I would rate this place higher is if it had more space, that way peoples asses are not in my face while I try to enjoy some ice cream. Also, some rainbow sherbert wouldnt hurt either… my absolute fav.

On a diet? Like tiny scoops of ice cream? Then Ben & Jerry’s in the Pearl is for you.
I have been to this location several times since I do like their ice cream. Unfortunately, you get no bang for your buck. Maybe it’s me, and my experience as an American with our large portions but still B&J’s seems like they are really skimping on the ice cream goodness. Something is very wrong when two tiny scoops cost more than a pint of the SAME ice cream at the grocery store. To Ben & Jerry’s employees/​owners, ice cream scoops are supposed to be big, round, and plentiful, not sad and dinky.

Every Monday to Friday from 3PM-​6PM, you can get $ 1 off on any sundae. Ben & Jerry’s ice cream is always solid. It’s not gourmet ice cream, (Salt & Straw) but it’s packed with flavour and make you feel like a kid again.

Free Cone Day was April 3, 2012, 12p — 8p. Did you get yours? I got mine and it totally made my day. Around 7pm my roommate and I decided to mozy on over to Ben and Jerry’s. From 2 blocks away I could see a line. Oh no! Panic!!! Will there be ice cream for us??? That line moved so quickly! An employee was passing out flavor menus to everybody waiting. There was plenty of ice cream. In fact, I don’t think they were out of any flavor. Did I mention how quickly that line moved??? In one door, out the other door. So convenient.
It’s a small shop, well lit, clean, conveniently located. Friendly, smiling employees.

Oh Ben & Jerry’s…why must you be so delicious. Do you not know you go straight to my butt? Do you giggle when I devour your creamy goodness and want seconds? We are such a love/​hate relationship. However, you always seem to win every argument. Then… I drown my sorrows in your half-​baked, cherry garcia, deliciousness.
It may be a little pricey, but they do indeed sell several flavors you cannot find in the grocery store. For this, I always make a stop. It is just too darn good to pass up. And when you are around the corner from a cupcake store… I mean COME ON… my inner fat kid comes alive and before I know it I’m knee deep in some odd concoction of flavors that’s so good it makes me say AMEN!

Be aware– this location has a minimum credit card purchase requirement, which, besides being somewhat inconvenient, is in violation of credit card merchant agreements. I think they may be doing it just to sell more ice cream. One scoop of ice cream in a regular cone comes out to $ 2.95, only a few cents less than the minimum purchase amount. The girl behind the counter said she could put another scoop on it to make it $ 3.95. Since I never carry cash, I guess I that would have been my only option had I been on my own (although passing it back with the bite I’d already taken out of it crossed my mind too). Thankfully my hubby had the cash to cover it.
All things considered, Ben & Jerry’s is delicious but overpriced. Save yourself a couple bucks and just buy a pint at Safeway.

Fishfood ice cream is amazing and always worth a wait. I always enjoy the staff at any of the Ben and Jerry’s they are always fun to talk with and are always smiling. If I sold ice cream all day I would be jolly also.

You can’t get too detailed when reviewing a chain store. But there are a few things that make this Ben & Jerry’s unique.
It’s in the Pearl and the windows open up in a way so that it’s like an entire wall was removed. (If that even makes any sense) Trust me, it adds to the feel good, summer feel that ice cream shops live for.
Also, this is a solar-​powered Ben & Jerry’s. They even have a tv monitor showing just how much energy is being saved/​consumed. Pretty rad. But hey, this is Portland and a progressive company like Ben & Jerry’s so maybe I shouldn’t be THAT surprised.
I sampled some Bonnaroo-​inspired ice cream with a whiskey aftertaste. Wasn’t my style so I went with the Cran-​Pineapple smoothie. Sure, Ben & Jerry’s is known for the ice cream, but the smoothie was good too.

I come from a land where it’s the norm to charge $ 4 for a scoop of gelato… this ain’t no gelato. It’s full of fat and cream and goodness. If only I could of gotten one of those monster tubs of ice cream for $ 40, but we were on our way to dinner.
The staff was nice and handled being swarmed by six people who seemed liked they never had ice cream before. I shared a large frozen latte. That was enough for me. When I was ordering it, I wanted to get an ice cream cookie, but Will Power got the better of me (damn him). I want it all.

Why don’t the cows on their labels have eyes? It is freaking me out, man!
So cool in concept, yet painfully pricey. The un-​corporate corporation. The company that famously launched the «What’s the Doughboy Afraid of?» campaign against Pillsbury before they eventually sold out themselves. They are a notoriously activist company that donates proceeds to various environmental and political causes and their brand has become part of the pop culture landscape.
It feels almost un-​American not to rave about their product. But, if it is solely a matter of taste, their ice cream and $ 3.99 price tag for a regular scoop just don’t do it for me. I am usually perfectly happy with our local Tillamook and Umpqua brands and on occasion I may sell my soul to the devil and eat Häagen-​Dazs.
This is a cute location in the Pearl that uses solar panels to generate their own electricity. I’m sure I’m getting a note on my permanent record for this one.

Ice cream is AWESOME.
This Ben & Jerry’s is probably one of the most likely to be filled with yuppies and their brats but it’s deffo filled with friendly young hippies passing out scoops of all natural, alternative lifestyle blah blah blah ice cream.
And waffle cones. They win if you didn’t already know.
And one of those cupcake places is next door if the ice cream isn’t enough.

Ice Cream is my catnip and kryptonite.
It’s quite simple really, Ben is catnip and Jerry is kryptonite. My highest high and my ultimate downfall. I hate how much I love you. In fact, I’m convinced we have a rather abusive relationship. But I keep coming back for more. That’s a sure fire sign, right?
Last night, I ignored all of the other food in my fridge that I *should* be paying attention to and instead drove (in full on PJs, hair completely disheveled, mind you,) to your house, where I both gratefully and pathetically indulged in ice cream for dinner. And, um, dessert.
I can’t resist your ways… especially when you lure me in with your Half Baked charms and Phish Food promises.
