History

Established in 1985.

Best Oil was established in the winter of 1985, I moved to Scappoose to get away from the city life, I owned a house in Scapoose that had Oil heat and the only place to get oil delivered was out of Portland or St Helens. I had noticed that the Oil prices were a lot more expensive than what I was paying in Portland at the time. Scappoose had no heating oil dealer so I did some research on what it would take to start an Oil company. 1 month later I bought a small oil truck from Albina fuel and I was in business. I lived right on hwy 30 a major road to the coast from Portland and you basically couldn’t go anywhere in Scappoose without passing my house, so I built a sign out in front of my house posting my oil prices which were 10 to 15 cents a gallon below anything around. I did that for 3 years and suddenly I was getting more calls from Portland than Scappoose so in 1988 I moved back to Portland following my roots the rest is history.
