Binga’s Stadium

I came here after a Friday night Pirates game expecting it to be crowded, but it was surprisingly quiet and easy to secure a table. I have been to Binga’s in every iteration of this location. It used to be the Stadium and was a loud, crazy sports bar especially when either the Red Sox or Patriots are playing. Once it became Binga’s Stadium, the food received a massive upgrade.
You can’t really go wrong with the wings. In the past, I have mostly stayed with the boneless ones because to eat them doesn’t require a lot of finger licking. Recently, I’ve come around to the actual bone-​in wings because they are a better deal. Binga’s calls it a «dozen» boneless wings, but in reality you only get about 6 tenders and they will cost you $ 12.99. It’s sort of a rip off. Stick to the bone-​in wings and you’ll actually get 12 of them for the same price.
If you are an indecisive eater, the sauce selection may take you the longest time. They have a ton of them to cater all comers. Do you like it melt-​your-​face off hot? Do you like PB&J? Are you into creamy pesto sauces? Binga’s has a sauce for all of you! I know it’s sounds silly, but I really like the Valley Girl. It’s a mix of buffalo, BBQ and honey mustard. That may sound disgusting, but it’s delicious. It’s sweet and smoky and awesome. You can add some heat to it and go to the Spice Girl which throws Diesel sauce into the mix.
Binga’s is in a great location right on the edge of the Old Port with a pretty good beer list and a ton of TVs so you can look in any direction to see sports, if that’s your thing. I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart of their location on Congress St. that burnt down but this place ups the ante with way more seating and a much more extensive menu.

Burnt ends, home made Chicken tenders, fabulous wings with too many delicious sauces to pick from. Recently had friends visiting & they ordered the buffalo nachos– might be my new favorite thing! And our household appreciates how great (and quick!) they are with take out orders. We love Bingas!

It can get a little pricey, but they have tons of specials where you can get really great deals on food and beer.
The abundance of TVs in this place is ridiculous! This was my go to spot to watch some football on Sundays or Monday nights.
The service is quick and efficient — I’ve never had a bad experience here *knock on wood*
The wings are pretty good, not the best I’ve had, but they’re good. There are plenty of other selections on the menu to try so go for it.
I give this place 5 stars for the overall experience — food, specials, service, and the over abundance of TVs. This is a legit sports bar. Excellent for big groups to catch a game or a UFC fight!

Addicted to Binga’s!!! I visit Portland every other week and this is the place to go especially for their wings and broccoli appetizer. Great spot to watch Sunday Football too!

Probably make the best wings in Portland, but where they really lose points is with their «Blanch» sauce. They do not have Ranch or Blue Cheese, they ONLY have Blanch. If I want Blanch, I can just mix the two together myself. It would be one thing if they offered blanch as an option, but making it the only option is absurd.
Edit: looks like they serve blanch and ranch but do not serve blue cheese. Strange way to be unique…

Definitely the go to spot for Sunday football. There are many TVs and the hostess sat us right by the game we were trying to watch which was nice and accommodating. The wings were great. We had both the traditional and smoked in the honey Chipolte and hot mango. I wish the honey Chipolte was a little more mild because it was so good but my mouth was on fire and I can usually handle spice pretty well! Beer selection was lengthy with great local options. Our waitress was also nice and attentive.

I’ve eaten at Binga’s many times. They have a nice sports bar ambiance, plenty of seating and lots of tvs. The pub food is good, as I like the burgers and nachos. The have the largest chicken wing sauce menu available… probably thirty types of various degrees of heat. Their wings can be done fried or smoked. I find that there is a bit too much breading on the fried wings… so I’ve migrated to smoked.
I enjoy their burnt ends and their fried mushrooms… both very good.
My issue with Binga’s stems from their staffs use of the 2dineIn application. It allows me to order their wings with sauce on the side and also to order flats only, which their is a $ 2 uplift charge. On my last two orders, both deliveries came with the sauce on the wings… and with drums and flats mixed, which is not what I ordered, and in a minor sense, not what I paid for. It may seem minor, but I really prefer my wings nude and dipped instead of slathered in sauce, so it’s a trend that’s happened twice.
All in all a good spot… I know a good friend that works there, and they are a business partner of my son… so I recommend checking it out.
3 ½ stars until they fix their delivery glitch…4 stars otherwise

I came here last week, desperate for a place to watch the Patriots MNF game. I only have basic cable at my house (stupid ESPN!), and I knew that securing a bar stool at the local pub on a night the home team was playing would be nigh impossible. To solve my dilemma, I thought that this would be as good an opportunity to try the biggest sports bar in the Greater Portland area that I could think of: Bingas.
I have some history at this location: back in the day (when this place was simply known as ‘The Stadium’), I remember watching a majority of the 2004 Red Sox playoff run here. I also remember getting drunk as a skunk when they clinched the ALCS over the Yankees after coming back from 4 games down. What a great year that was. Since I moved to Boston shortly thereafter, that was also the last time I was in there. Gotta end on a hot streak, right?
Fast forward to the future — 2015. I was expecting a typical sports bar experience, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it surpassed my expectations. It’s still just as cavernous as I remember from my drunken 2004 flashbacks, but the space works. It also wasn’t obnoxiously loud or overflowing with people on a big game night — two huge pluses that most sports bars don’t get.
I was able to sidle right up to the bar and get a seat. And what a long bar it is! A special shoutout to the breadth of local beers on the menu. That was probably the biggest surprise of the night, as the taps could rival many of the beer bars in Portland; it’s a great place to sample.
Bingas also features their ‘wingas’, so I decided to order a dozen for dinner. While its readily apparent that there are a million different sauces, I couldn’t quite figure out if wingas were tenders or wings, and if the sauces are cooked into the wingas or served on the side. I’ll need to reexamine the menu before I self diagnose myself as illiterate. I ordered the Cajun rubbed smoked wings and they were pretty good — just the right level of spice. I currently prefer the wings at Samuels and TGLB (in that order), but I am determined to give Bingas a few more tries because some of their original sauces sound amazing.
The only knock I have is the slight broadcast delay between the large projector and the TVs at the bar. People watching the big screen would cheer/​react a second or two before the same action happened on the small TVs. Is there a way to sync this up?
Overall, I fully plan to return and watch the next big game here, have a local brew, and order more wingas with a new sauce.

Not a fan of this place! Food is OK nothing special. They employ thug like characters to work the doors and there is regularly an element of lawlessness hanging around. With all the bars in Portland why go here???

My friends and I came to Binga Stadium for some Sunday night football. We sat downstairs so I never got to explore the upper area. Even though the downstairs area is a little dingy, they have the coolest seats and décor. You can watch the game while sitting in retired airplane seats! Stay entertained during half time with retro-​arcade games, such as bowling and basketball.
Wings, sauces and beers galore! The staff is very helpful and friendly – we wanted to try the hottest, spiciest sauce in the restaurant just for kicks… instead our waitress gave us a free sample knowing that we would simply waste our wings and not enjoy them.
Binga Stadium host different events every night, such as trivia and other sporting viewing parties. A great spot to hang out with friends!

Kudos to Binga’s for accommodating sports fans of all colors by showing every televised NFL game, as any proper sports bar would do on a Sunday. I suggest that you market this specific fact where you apparently have a competitive advantage downtown. Good food, good service too.

Went here over the weekend got a bachelor party and had a blast! The bartender Brittany made sure we had a good time and kept the drinks flowing!
Also the manager Jeff took care of us. We went in on Friday and kept the drinks flowing for a few hours, but before leaving he gave a complimentary gift card and to come back anytime. when we went back on Saturday to eat dinner and watch a game, he went above and beyond, hooked us up with a complementary app, made sure we were good periodically throughout dinner and then when we went down to their awesome basement he made sure we had a waitress to take care of us.
I never generally interact with bar or restaurant managers but after speaking with Jeff this weekend, he has definitely set the bar high for my expectations on what a manager can do to create a fun environment for the customer.

I stopped by for lunch on a sunday afternoon. Games playing, beer pouring, wings served. We orderd a sample of boneless wing flavors. The wings were large, no cartilage or bones. The meat was tender and the wings were big chicken fingers. The sauces were the most exciting part. We picked pb&j, valley girl, the redneck, spicy buffalo, hot mango and thai peanut. I love the variety of sauce to choose from. You can order them coated or a flight of dipping sauces. The fries were decent, crispy and greasy.
It was the service that makes the experience so bad. I have never seen staff avoid customers as much as this experience. They would accually look away and walk quickly to behind the bar to talk and laugh. We ordered some spicy food and inevitably needed drink refills. We never saw our waitress once she took our order. Another waitress brought our food. We asked someone walking by, could we please get refills. They offered to find our waitress. We continued eating and finally got drinks with the check. We asked for a box, but it never came after someone collected the bill.
UPDATE: I have since been back and had 2 good experiences. The service was friendly and attentive each time. I am completely addicted to the buffalo chicken nachos. The portions are huge, the chips are perfect, the toppings are loaded and you can pick any of their many sauces. I recommend the valley girl. The boneless wings are always a good choice, moist chicken and crisp outside with flavorful sauce, for dipping or already sauced.

I like to pop in here occasionally with a group of friends for their Thursday Night, Family-​Feud style trivia. We’re that maddening group that questions the guy in charge about the specifics of every question before answering…:
Q: What’s the first question you ask when buying a new car?
A: Is this a new or a used car? And, are they male or female, because that will affect our answer.
Q: Name one thing you’ll find in a woman’s handbag
A: How old is the woman in question? What’s her lifestyle like? Are we including drag queens?
So, any-​who, there’s good times and casual entertainment to be had. If you’re grabbing a bite, the variety of sauces for the bone in wings or boneless tenders are a plus, although I still thinks it’s funny you can’t just get pain ranch or blue cheese dressing. Personal sauce fav is the spicy redneck.
Vegetarians will have seriously limited options, so if you are one, also be patient with your waitresses, as it IS obviously going to be more of a carnivore-​friendly establishment. If you’re gluten free there’s more for you than the vegetarians.
The beer selection is surprising, with more local brews than you might imagine, as opposed to being just the same cheap, domestic swill you might expect at a wing joint. They do offer towers of beer, so that makes up for any other deficiencies in catering to dietary restrictions, right?
Don’t expect anything to be fast, as they usually seem to be short staffed for these sorts of events, so be patient, as these girls are running their butts off!
There’s lots of space, with a lonnnnnnng bar, and quite a few booths, so it’s good for groups. They will make you wait for at least half your party to arrive before seating you, so heads up!
Pricing is fairly average for what you get between drinks, apps and dinner items — $ — $$.
They also offer a trivia night, I think on Tuesdays, if the game of guessing/​comparisons for the popular vote that was taken from a demographic of bar patrons isn’t your thing.

Once upon a time (okay, about a decade ago) I was an alcohol spokesmodel. I dressed up in ridiculous outfits and went to restaurants to promote new adult beverages to consumers (specifically the impressionable 21 to 29 male crowd, if we’re being totally honest here) which included education, buying them a drink, and giving away «free swag». Binga’s was one of the very first places I ever worked at in Portland, ME (as such, I’m always gonna have a soft spot in my heart for them). I was a Heineken Light Girl at the time and the then bartender introduced me to the troublesome and delicious world of energy drinks with vodka. The staff used to feed us all the melt-​in-​your-​mouth, crunchy-​on-​the-​outside-​juicy-​on-​the-​inside, deep fried chicken fingers we could eat; and, once when it was slow they even let us try every single sauce they made. Binga’s has always offered generous portions, cold drinks, and been a clean, noisy, spacious (I think they have the most square footage of any food or drink establishment in town), and a solid place to go catch «the game».
(Skip this next part if you’re an omnivore… we’ll meet you down at the next paragraph.)
Now that I’m a wee bit older and a vegetarian, Binga’s doesn’t exactly fill any personal niche. The menu is mostly geared towards BBQ, chicken wings and beer, and deep-​fried pub foods. There’s nothing wrong with this; it’s just not for me. MUCH of their options are gluten-​free, though; I have friends who are impressed with this, because I guess most places chicken fingers/​wings aren’t for whatever reason. And there really do strive to include some vegetarian options on the menu, but I don’t know if they’re actually «vegetarian» (this all depends on how seriously you take your diet, and I know it’s being super picky, but… is the Veggie Burger, which is ironically described as «a top-​shelf meatless burger», grilled on the same surface as real meat is? I’m guessing, yes; and, are all the seemingly harmless French fries, onion rings, pickle chips, mozzarella sticks, and the tofu or falafel in the sandwiches deep-​fried in the same fryers as the meat as well? Every time I’ve asked the servers here [BEWARE: they are always young women in tight clothing], they haven’t 100% known the answer, and that bums me out). So, when I have come here, I’ve gotten the nachos. However, they’re always burned. And kind of sad looking since the topping to chip ratio is WAAAAAAAY off; who wants to pay for a plate of charred, hard, too salty chips? Not I.

DEM SACUES THO! Thirty different options that you can drip, dredge, drizzle, or pour on pretty much anything off their menu. The «’08 Fire» (which is stupid hot) gives me heartburn just looking at it, the «Blanch» (as you probably guessed, it’s a combo of blue cheese and ranch) is probably one of my favorites, the «Redneck» (maple buffalo) tastes like summer BBQs, and the «Valley Girl» (a combo of BBQ, buffalo, and honey mustard) appeals to my inner kid who liked to put all the flavors of her meal in her mouth at once.
So, if you’re looking for a quintessential sports bar experience, this might be for you. I’m not, so it isn’t.

First time at Binga’s. The service was excellent, and the nachos were fantastic. Highly recommend!

Four solid stars. While I was put off by all the loud noise and crazy flavors at first, Binga’s has slowly grown on me. The service and quality hands down beats BWW, and that’s probably what will keep me coming back.
The wings are definitely not wimpy, and $ 5 for 6 wingas during happy hour ain’t a bad deal! There’s other items on the happy hour menu for $ 2/​$ 3/​$ 4/​$ 5 available from 4 – 6 and from 9-​close daily. Make sure to check your receipt though, I was charged the regular price for wings until I asked them to fix it. :/​
I usually split a half order of the stadium nachos w/​hot mango tenders with 1 – 2 others. It comes with salsa, sour cream, olives, and tons of cheese. If you’ve got a group of friends that are up for it, come for Thursday Questionnairey! It’s kind of like family feud, and the prizes are actually pretty great.

Binga’s is what you would get if you went to a Buffalo Wild Wings and said, «This idea has some potential. Lets keep the 10,000 TV’s, add about 40 more beers, and make the food edible» And they’ve done a pretty good job with it.
The food is, not surprisingly, weighted heavily towards sugar, spice and fat. Mostly fat. It’s bar food, and almost everything is fried in batter, but it’s all pretty well executed.
The beer selection is large, but in the end kind of un-​inspiring. I always find it sad to look at a list of 60 or so beers and find only a couple that interest me.
Basically, they do what the do pretty well, but what they do isn’t really what I’m looking for most of the time.

I came here with a couple of buddies last night for their Trivia night. It was pretty fun, but the questions were all from a decade older than us, so we lost pretty bad. This was made up by the awesome food that they served! My and my friend went to for an order of nachos and they came out pretty big and spicy. Those jalapenos really hit the spot! They also have a really appealing happy hour ¾/​5 menu which would definitely get me coming back. The owner is also a super friendly and nice guy. If you DO come here, I’d advise to say hi to the owner and compliment his restaurant. I know he’d really appreciate it since it seems he tries pretty hard to please his customers.
Definitely try the Trivia if you’re in your 30’s-40’s. It seemed like pretty good questions, but just not my generation. One bonus round gave us 10 pictures of lawyers and we had to name the show the lawyers were on.

Great spot for entertainment and good bar food! This takes the cake for sports bars in Portland. Huge restaurant with a big bar. Decent selection with drinks, an infinite amount of tasty sauces for your food and TV’s all around!
Our server was nice and helpful. She suggested which sauces went better with our meals. I got the veggie burger with some extra toppings and the KB sauce… YUM! So delicious! Although, the sweet potato fries I got on the side were lacking salt and sweetness, they were crunchy and not soggy!
I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Portland! (Good for groups, too.)
