Bobby Roberts

Unfortunate circumstances placed me in need of a notary to witness the signing of a power of attorney for my mother whose health was declining rapidly. She was at Providence (PDX) which has a notary for its patients but scheduling through them proved to be difficult. My next call was to UPS-​the person I spoke with was abrupt and didn’t speak English very well which in itself wasn’t a problem but probably isn’t a good fit when dealing with an elderly and easily confused person being asked to sign such an important document. Moreover the price was $ 100 to come to the hospital and witness the signature-​that seemed a tad steep.
My next call was to Bobby. He told me he lived close to the hospital and that his schedule was flexible. He was very knowledgeable and even offered useful advice about asking the nursing staff when the best time would be for my mother (emotionally and cognitively) to sign the POA. Given his demeanor and professionalism I was already sold but when I found out he charged half as much as UPS I knew he was the right man for the job.
Bobby showed up to my mother’s room five minutes early (on a Saturday). Unfortunately, despite the best laid plans of mice and men this wasn’t a particularly good day for my mother. We had to wait outside her room for about 10 minutes while she was being assisted by the nurses. After that Bobby suggested I go in to spend some time with my mother before yet another stranger walked in. He waited another 5 minutes without a word of impatience. Finally, when I introduced Bobby to my mother he was exceptionally nice to her. He explained everything to her in a plain, simple to understand manner and even managed to be comforting without being patronizing (a pet peeve of my mothers in her current condition). When all was said and done Bobby seemed a little surprised by the fact that I had included a tip. He appeared to think I had made a mistake. Hell, I felt bad that I didn’t pay him double… he’s worth that and more.

I was in an urgent situation at the hospital with my parents where I needed two POA’s notarized there. Bobby came out to the hospital and helped me with both documents right there. I later used him again at a care home I was at with my father on a trust document. Bobby is well informed of the laws, is always very professional, compassionate and courteous. He’s always my first person I go to when needing a notary.

I highly recommend Bobby Roberts! Today was Mother’s Day and I needed a notary public and he was gracious enough to come over to my house. He was very professional as well as personable.

I am planning a trip to Mexico with my 12 year old son. It is his first time out of the country so we are very excited to say the least! I had applied for his passport about a month ago and was pretty upset when I received a letter letting me know that my submitted paper work had expired and I needed to submit a newly notarized document confirming my ex-​husband had given his consent for my son to have a passport.
Given that the trip is approximately ³⁄₄ weeks out I became a bit panicked. Of course it was the weekend when all this was revealed so I figured there was no hope of getting a notary. My boyfriend let me know that there were indeed mobile /​traveling notaries. He called Bobby and asked him if he could meet us that evening, Saturday, and Bobby agreed. Unfortunately, my ex was unable to meet us, so we rescheduled for Sunday evening. Bobby got to our house and was exceptionally pleasant. He even informed us that we needed yet another notarized form indicating where and how long my son would be out of the country. Unfortunately, my ex didn’t show up again. Now I was getting really worried. Bobby was very kind and offered to meet my ex at 7:30 the next morning at a coffee shop. Wow! Unfortunately, (yes another «unfortunately») my ex STILL didn’t show! When I got the ex on the phone he agreed to meet Bobby at his house. I wasn’t too sure about asking Bobby for his home address but he was fine with it.
I was understandably concerned with being able to get the paper work back from my ex the same day in order for me to overnight them. Bobby suggested the night before that he hold on to them and drive them to our house after they were signed and that is exactly what he did. All for a very reasonable price. That, in my opinion, is pretty amazing service. I hope to not have any documents notarized in the near future but when I do it will definitely be Bobby that I call.
