I love this little restaurant. It is like going to dinner at your Italian grandmother’s house. Every time I eat here I am never disappointed. This is a great lunch and dinner place. Do yourself a favor and take your SO out for Italian food and enjoy Dean Martin crooning in the background.

09⁄25 I had the clam chowder and spaghetti and meatballs. All VERY good. Met Steve the proprietor. He seems to give a great effort in all his cooking.

They have a good $ 25 four course meal that is plenty of food plus dessert, and it’s tasty. The argula salad was small, but fresh and tasty. The fresh baked bread was quite nice — but the sliced kalamata olives dumped on top were impractical, should have been chopped up finely to be spread on top or simply not provided. The minestrone was very tasty. I had the Prime Steak, which was cooked to order, but not very seasoned. The three short stalks of asparagus were overcooked, mush, but the garlic mashers were nice. I had the house red(Malbec), but it tasted like the bottle had been opened a day or so before — oxidized and acidic. But for the price of $ 6 for a nice-sized glass, I didn’t complain. The dessert was very disappointing. I ordered the tiramisu. The waitress proudly proclaimed they didn’t use lady fingers for their version, but layered cake. I should have switched to something chocolate. The cake was dry, and the cream layers skinny. The subtle flavors I was hoping for were nonexistent. It simply was not tiramasu. My companion’s bread pudding was rubbery. I will go back if a friend wants to go there, but I won’t go out of my way. It was clearly fresh, home made food, but being half Sicilian, I was only mildly impressed. I would give it 3.5 stars, because three is too low(it is tasty stuff and well made, just not great), and not quite deserving of four stars. But if I go back, I’ll update my review, because any place can have a less than stellar night. The service was very friendly, if a bit on the ditzy side, but super nice.

Guys and gals… What a little known secret in Portland! Wonderful, flavorful, traditional Italian food that has no crowds! They bake their FREE bread fresh daily. Do I even need to say more about the quality of this place? If they make free things from scratch, what do you think they do with the stuff you pay for? Food is damn delicious, and Anfer must like me, cause the drinks are darn tasty… He doesn’t like me. I saw him make a drink for someone else… Awkward. David made the the second best chicken parm I’ve ever had(judging from a sample size of 14). But no one has better balls! The meatballs here a savory and flavorful! But seriously please go here and spread the word… Or actually don’t! I like it here.

Why 5 Stars? Because it’s bananas. For not a lot of money you get a ton of delicious Brooklyn/Boston style Italian food. Good service, and good flavor.

I can’t believe I have never heard of this place! I am hesitant to review… because I don’t want it to get over run… But…I have to say, this is the best restaurant we have tried in quite some time! The service was impeccable from beginning to end. The food was beyond yumm! I had the Prix Fixe and I was just amazed. I mmm and ahhhed through all 5 courses. I don’t think I could pick a favorite. My partner had Spaghetti and Meatballs. Those meatballs are just incredible! We are dying to go back!

Stopped at one of my favorite restaurants in Portland… Boccis on 7th, to have dinner tonight. When I tell you they have THEBEST Italian food in the city, you must listen. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and it is the best that I have ever had… believe it! Come, and experience Boccis on 7th for yourself… you’ll be glad you did, and I’ll bet once you do, it will become one of your favorite places too!

Had the Bocci pizza and spaghetti and meatballs to go. The meatballs were mediocre and the pizza was straight up weird. The dough was sweet and tasted like pie crust. They managed to make the edges flaky and crispy, while the inside was soggy. The moz was of low quality and totally overtook the meal. Thank goodness I passed on the calzone after seeing they used moz instead of riccota. Will not be back.

This is a gem of a place. We tried it because of reviews on Unilocal.Glad we did. Good spot. We ordered the prix fixe, which is five courses for $ 25.00; good bargain. We started with bread with olive oil; good. The salad course was a salad with a light vinaigrette dressing; very good. We then had fried polenta with tomatoes; good. The soup was a home made pea soup. It looked like split pea, but was not and was very good. We had a choice of three entrees. All were excellent. The pork was the best. I liked my pasta. The others liked their chicken Saltimboca. Our deserts were OK I liked the bread pudding with caramel sauce best; my compatriots liked the Tiramisu cake the best. Good, inexpensive wine lust. Great bargain. Overall, a very good satisfying meal. We will come back.

I love coming here. I’ve always been treated with kindness and especially good food. I took my girlfriend here for Valentine’s Day and I called ahead to have a bottle of wine waiting on the table when we arrived. Sure enough it was there. They treated us like royalty. The food rolled in throughout the next 1⁄12 hrs and it was the perfect evening. We both had the steak and agreed it was one of the best steaks we ever had. The prices are just right. And if you are looking for a really nice evening to take someone out I highly recommend stopping here.

Cozy and intimate spot in SE. Chefs and wait staff were all super friendly. We were there for lunch — perfect shelter from a rainy, cold day. Grilled albacore sandwich really hit the spot as did the lasagna special. We will be back.

The food was… Just kind of weird. By portland standards this restaurant is not worth visiting. The staff was very friendly though and the ambiance was quiet and cozy.

A diamond in the rough. Not much to look at outside, but inside is is warm and comfy. Weekend Prix fixe menu is a strong value and the flavors of Italy are abundant. Birra Morretti La Rosa is served, but I prefer the lager. We had the cod and the pork loin dinner entre — very enjoyable. Great desserts… ask for panna cotta

This is most likely my/our very very favorite place to go. The ambiance is adorable – like the perfect tiny romantic Italian café(perfectly-slightly-dim lighting, old pictures on the walls), except with an added touch of your mostwonderful grandmother(Frank Sinatra playing, fabric flowers on the tables). It feels homey. The food is great. Solid, and like your mom’s. GREAT meatballs! Except the salad. The salad is better than my mom’s; it’s field greens and parmesan and a lovely vinaigrette(there’s also a Caesar). WHAT’S REALLYGREAT about Bocci’s, though, is the staff – they’re the most sweet ever, every time we come in. Kind and smiley and the perfect amount of conversational and I: love: them. And on Thursdays there’s free dessert! Unless that was just the staff being, again, completely disarming. :-).(The chocolate amaretto cake is light and chocolatey and amaretto-y and perfect.)

I love this place. I will be coming back soon. It has some great service and even better food. I tried the pasta primavera since it’s summertime and it maybe could’ve used a little more garlic or salt. But it was awesome never the less.

Super small place. You’d probably want to make reservations before showing up. The food is alright. Some things better than others. Nothing to write home about. In fact, I was here in February(it’s now June), and it’s hard to remember our experience. I do remember that I ordered the creamy pesto, and got alfredo sauce. They took it back and added pesto. I guess the alfredo is the base of their creamy pesto sauce. *Shrugs* I guess you could do worse, but I know you could do better.
