French inspired North West Cuisine. Made with seasonal, sustainable, and local ingredients whenever possible. In the heart of downtown, the Brasserie is a place to wind up or unwind. It’s a perfect venue for date nights, business lunches, relaxing after work, on-the-town dining, or a post-shopping retreat. With three unique event spaces for private dining suitable for intimate fêtes or more boisterous affairs.
History
Established in 2011.
Originally opening as a hotel in 1907, whose rooms rented out at $ 1/day, the Calumet building that houses the Brasserie, was later sported the Aero Bar, and later The Headless Horseman, a booming night club, before becoming the Brasserie Montmartre in 1978. In its heyday, the Brasserie boasted hot jazz and blues bands, and was renowned for its music scene.
In 2007, when this historic building was threatened, Carl Coffman, a Native Oregonian, valued the building’s history and believes in the value of reuse and reclamation. In a major retrofit, Coffman and company restored the building, earning LEED Gold status.
Now, this rustic-refined French-American brasserie captures the essence and spirit of word «Montmartre,» defined literally as the highest point in Paris, and now figuratively as a perfectly French-American respite for food, drink and conviviality.
