Burlingame Park is a small park located just off SW12th& Falcon. If you didn’t know it was there you may miss it. This park is great for families since it offers full playground equipment including, a children’s play structure, swings, slide, merry go round, chin up bar, picnic tables, benches and a baseball diamond complete with small bleachers. There is also a tennis court against the freeway that is a bit old but it serves the purpose for a novice. There are several trees in this park that are very old, kind of cool. Since this is a neighborhood park, it seems many people let their dogs off leash in this park. It is however part of Portland Parks and leash laws should be followed. 2015 – 92

A small neighborhood park cozied alongside I-5. There is a large baseball diamond, picnic tables, a small kids play structure, large swings, a carousel and virtually unused tennis courts. The freeway noise is omnipresent, but there is a large stand of trees between the freeway and the park, so visually it’s not a distraction. Difficult to find, the park only has one block of road access and a few walk-in paths accessible from SW11th and SW Troy and SW11th and SW Caney. This remoteness of the park is one of its assets, usually next to no one is at the park. Another advantage of the seclusion is most people are free to flagrantly ignore the Portland Parks dog leash rule. In two years I have gone there to throw the ball with my dog everyday and not been hassled about it. Just remember to be respectful of other park users and pick up after your pup. The baseball diamond has major drainage issues. Once the rains hit, the outfield turns into a swamp. Heading back out into left field becomes impossible unless you want to risk losing a shoe to the stew of mud and grass, so stick to the paths until early summer.
