ChiroWay

Tonight my first go at ChiroWay and I have to say, I left happy and excited to return.
Let me say, that I wasn’t actually planning on getting adjusted, but rather, I just tagged along with my boyfriend to see what all the fuss was about.
My boyfriend has a bulged disk, so I understood how she might help him, but i’ll admit I didn’t think there would be much to do as far as work on my back was concerned. I was wrong.
Landyn quickly identified some problem spots after feeling around. Once adjusted, i could feel the difference immediately. I loved that she explained what she was doing as she was doing it, how said trouble spots affected other things, e.g. sleep, adrenal glands, etc. and was friendly and open during the whole process.
As for the business itself, they have a pretty good model going on. Adjustments as needed for a low monthly fee, but cheaper than any co-​pay and no need to go through insurance for authorization. They also allow walk-​ins, which I love.
Worth noting: this particular office is clean, bright and colorful with comfortable chairs and tables.
Overall, I was very impressed with Landyn and her office and will gladly return.

tl;dr: If you care about your health and want a fantastic deal receiving care from someone who is passionate about helping you feel great, join ChiroWay and start getting adjusted regularly.
I always thought chiropractors were nothing more than an expensive necessity for people with bad backs, and felt grateful that I wasn’t one of those people. In the two years that I’ve been going to see Dr. Shanks I’ve learned SO MUCH, and nothing about my initial belief is true.
ChiroWay is unlike any other chiropractic practice I’ve ever heard of before. First, the philosophy is that it’s better to maintain your health through consistent care than it is to only address it once it’s a problem. With traditional chiropractors, no one can afford (either with time or money) to go to the chiropractor regularly, so everyone just goes when they throw out their back. But ChiroWay is a subscription model, with walk in appointments only. Most of the time I am in and out in about 5 minutes. Even when there are people ahead of me, it’s never been more than 10 minutes per visit. And I can go in as many times a month as I want. Basically unlimited.
Think about that for a second. ChiroWay doesn’t take insurance, but with their model you will still end up saving money. You can go in 3 times a week and you still just pay $ 49 a month. Insurance co-​pays are usually $ 20 – 30 per visit, and usually only cover a limited number of visits. It’s like the traditional health care system was designed to only let you use it when you get injured, and not for maintaining your basic health and well being.
I’m starting to sound like an infomercial, but I’ve basically been converted to a full believer in the benefits of chiropractic care, and this is a great deal. Join for a month and try it out.

I own a fitness facility in Portland so I use my body a lot and believe wholeheartedly in health and wellness as a forethought and not an afterthought. This is one of the main reasons I love ChiroWay. Their philosophy is that taking care of your health should be a proactive measure; not a result of disease or trauma. Much like getting fit, the common course in chiropractic care is to wait for a car or bike accident or for something else to be «wrong» with you such that you «need» to get back into alignment. Landyn’s philosophy is that if you are living day-​to-​day with proper alignment, you are more likely to always be functioning (and feeling!) at your best.
I have found this to be true since seeing Landyn. Most remarkably I have noticed greatly increased hip and back mobility. Not only as an athlete but as someone who has had back surgery, this is really important so I can perform movements without «freezing up.» I have received regular chiropractic care from three other chiropractors in my past and none have produced results like Landyn has been able to.
Plus, since her pricing structure is a monthly membership vs. per visit it is really affordable and speaks to her integrity. She could easily make a lot more money off of sick and injured people and their insurance, but she is devoted to her approach of proactive care for a healthy-​minded community. She is a total asset to the Portland community and I am so glad I found her!

Very friendly and energetic. I have been going for about a year and having the adjustments has been helpful for sleep and general health. I was never asked to get x Rays and I appreciate that as they are often not needed. My reasons for going in to get adjusted was due to spending a large amount of time flying. Easy monthly plans make it easy to get adjusted regularly.

Dr. Landyn is an incredible doctor offering a very unique service. I love being able to drop in and get adjusted on my way to or from work. My chronic neck pain is gone and I’m sleeping so much better!

As a relatively serious athlete, I take the health and wellbeing of my body seriously. That’s why I have to recommend Landyn Shanks of ChiroWay.
In the 8 months I’ve been going to ChiroWay (roughly 3 times per week), I’ve noticed a marked improvement in the various aches/​pains I’ve had, general mobility and overall feeling of well-​being. (While she only handles spinal adjustments, I’ve still noticed improvements in other areas). She always takes the time to educate me on what she finds in my body subluxation-​wise, even as she’s adjusting me, which I find very beneficial.
Lastly, it’s incredibly affordable. I don’t have the biggest budget to spend on wellness, but her package of consistent chiropractic care for a modest monthly fee is absolutely unbeatable, especially for those individuals who spend a lot of money on fitness or training but need body work as well. I highly recommend Chiroway!
