Classic Pianos

I needed a reliable in-​tune piano on a shoestring budget. Rick Zachery guided me to a gently used Yamaha Clavinova that fit the bill. The staff are courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Their policy allows you to trade-​in a purchased instrument within two years at full value toward an upgrade – which tells you that they are sincerely dedicated to providing quality pianos for any household. It’s worth a visit just to look at the beautiful array of instruments they have in their showrooms. I would do business with Classic Pianos again.

Pushy sales people that want to sell you a piano — even if it doesn’t fit your space or skill level. I went to visit and the sales person tried to sell me a 5’0 baby grand yamaha. This doesn’t suit the skill level or space I described to him. Just like when purchasing a vehicle — shop around! The Steinway store down the road is amazing!

We walked in to just look around and walked out with a fantastic digital piano for under our budget. Fred is incredibly knowledgable, helpful, and not pushy at all. We told him what we were looking for and he knew exactly which piano would be perfect for us. After we said we were going to buy it, he stuck around and polished it and continued to give us very good service. We also met Brian, one of the owners, who was very nice and helpful. We were very happy with our experience at Classic Pianos!

We recently purchased our first piano after years of my children practicing on an electric keyboard. Fred Riley was very knowledgeable and not in a rush to just sell us a piano. He took the time to show us around the showroom and even play for us. Classic pianos has a wide variety of pianos ranging from beautiful one of a kind instruments to the bargain basement! We had a wonderful buying experience and we are very happy with our purchase. Would definitely recommend buying from here. Great experience and great customer support for the long run!

There is no doubt Classic Pianos has the biggest selection of pianos in Portland. The bargain basement deals allow for those on a small budget to find something too.
I found their sale team to be pushy and unprofessional and I chose not to buy my piano from them. Everyone has bad days and maybe that is what happen the day I visited.
I visited four piano companies in Portland that day and can confirm Classic has the most pianos in one location; however they have the same prices as their competitors. Shop around and visit more than one store when purchasing such a special item as a piano.

Excellent service! I called Classic Pianos needing a part for our Yamaha grand and was helped by Ross and Tom. Within days they had the part we needed and came out to our house to install it. The price for the part was very reasonable, and they didn’t charge us anything for the house call. Will definitely be using them again in the future. Highly recommended.

Classic Pianos is the best. They helped me out in a time of need, and I’m planning on saving up enough money to buy a new (used) piano from them! I wouldn’t go anywhere else, because I truly trust their values. Five Stars plus.

I love this place. They have long tradition and are trusty. I bought Yamaha digital piano this June. They are professional and knowlegeable and kind. I also got good pice there. I already told my friends about this place.

I used to work in the lovely sheet music department of a somewhat evil piano store (not in Portland), so I have to admit that when it came time to buy a piano, I was nervous. I knew that piano stores can be a lot like car lots, where sleazy salesmen try to talk you into far more piano than you can afford.
But I am pleased to report that Classic Piano is not like that. The staff were knowledgeable, kind, and clearly in love with their pianos. Our salesman showed us options in all price ranges, and did not talk disparagingly about the cheaper options. Then he kindly left us alone, while we wandered the place, trying out various pianos.
After two hours, I found «the one». The price was exactly what I expected. Also, if I remember right, delivery was free, and the delivery guys were absolutely excellent. A free tuning was included as well.
One other giant selling feature is that Classic Pianos has a trade-​in policy. Should I wish to upgrade, I can sell my piano back to them at full price (as long as the piano is in great shape) and apply the money to another piano. I won’t be doing this, but it is a wonderful option.

I recently came in to Classic Pianos and I was so impressed with Taylor and his knowledge of pianos. I learned so much and he made the whole experience at Classic GREAT!!! Taylor is wonderful!!!

I attended a pre-​concert event here on New Year’s Eve. It was a special auction winner event for Brandi Carlile fans prior to her NYE show next door at the Aladdin. The staff were very nice and helpful. The recital room where the music was played had good sound. Brandi tried out the grand piano on the stage which sounded lovely. We had refreshments served in an adjoining room during the meet and greet. My only suggestion for future similar events would be clearer communication on the process for getting next door for the main show. We were confused about whether we should get in the main line outside and some of us ended up in the wrong place.

Classic Pianos has a knowledgeable staff and does a lot for the musical community in Portland.
