Wonderful professional complete service at an amazing price! Eye exam — $ 50. Others in the same neighborhood charge $ 150 and $ 125 respectively.

I love this place! I was compelled to write this review because of some of the negative reviews I read about this place. The guy who handles the lenses is the first person who has actually explained my eyes to me. Previous experiences at places like America’s Best just had me in and out, but the people at Crown as funny, helpful and have obviously been doing this for a long time. They only charged me 65 dollars to put new lenses in the frames I brought in and 45 dollars for the eye exam. Highly recommended!

My partner and I recently had an eye exam and purchased frames from Crown and I was appalled at how we were treated. I chose this office because they offer a discount on specific frames through my employer; but I have to admit I would rather pay full price elsewhere than endure the inappropriate comments and rude service of this place. To make matters worse, the poor service was received from the owner; so I don’t foresee it improving. Not only was he impatient and his demeanor patronizing, his answers to our questions were unclear and he scoffed at any inclination or possibility of being incorrect. I actually felt uncomfortable asking him to apply the discount when I picked up my frames; and his heavy sigh, lack of eye contact and expedition of my frame fitting validated my discomfort. When my partner tried on her new frames they were so much stronger than her previous prescription that she received only 2 years prior; it was a bit concerning and we wondered if perhaps the prescription was off… Ultimately, she agreed to give them 2 weeks to allow her eyes to adjust, even though they were literally making her feel cross-eyed during the fitting. Unfortunately, she never adjusted and instead gave her headaches and made her feel nauseous for 2 weeks; so as we suspected initially, her prescription is incorrect and should be adjusted. After multiple trips to Crown to try and remedy the problem and a heavy dose of his condescending remarks each time; we’ve both decided no discount is worth this much bad attitude.

I went in to Crown to get a prescription filled for some safety glasses. I agree with an earlier review made by Jessica V about the blonde woman working there. I did not feel that she listened to what I was looking for in glasses and was disrespectful in how she communicated with me. My work will only pay for my safety glasses if I get them from Crown. Even so, I may end up paying for them out of my own pocket somewhere else because of the poor experience I had.

I’ve been a customer at this place for 4 years and have had nothing but wonderful experiences up until today. The blonde woman that now works there(or has been there & I’ve just never seen her) is a SUPER pill who makes you not want to step foot inside their walls. She’s quick to interrupt and very disenchanting. It’s hard to hand over money that’s so outrightly rude. Also, the brunette receptionist that had the knack of remembering EVERY customer’s name is no longer there! :(

This place was great and although I didn’t shop around I’ve heard several times that they offer the cheapest eye exams in town. The optician was thorough, and sweet and genuinely seemed to love his job. They didn’t pressure me to get my lenses filled there, or to shop around for frames from them. It was fast and easy and I would recommend that anyone in need of an eye exam check them out.

Ever since my previous insurance company provider killed the last pair of amazing 1950s cat-eye pearlized/rhinestoned Ray Bans I brought to them to have my prescription put in(they admitted that they ground the lens too large and cracked the frames — but still charged me for the glasses), I’ve been gun-shy about trying again. Then I found an even better frame at an estate sale(seriously, they’re GOOD), and decided it was time. A friend referred me to Crown, and I brought my frames and prescription in on Tuesday. I got a call two days later letting me know my glasses were ready and I picked them up today: Perfection. Added bonus: The woman at the desk is an absolute doll. Added added bonus: Prices are absolutely reasonable/fair/affordable.

My partner and I are on a very tight budget(like most people we know). When we bought our frames at Hollywood Vintage, they suggested we come to Crown Optical. Conveniently located close to each other. We were so worried about how much it would cost for the exam and lenses, and were astonished at how cost efficient they were, as well as helpful and knowledgeable. My partner was so pleased and said he has never had a better more accurate pair of glasses. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Yeah, this place is okay. They offer a pretty good selection of frames and their prices are really great. I love that they are located right in my neighborhood, just a short walk from my house. We found this place when my boyfriend bought a pair of frames from Hollywood Vintage(on Sandy Blvd). They recommended Crown Optical for lenses and frame adjustments so we happily went. The only issue I have is the staff. First, we needed to get a part for a separate pair of frames and the woman recommended that we just contact the frame builder ourselves as she«doesn’t have a relationship with them». And we do? Seems like they would have a better relationship considering they’re both in the frame-selling business. Second, when we came back to pay for the frames, the owner made a joke about the size of the frames saying he could put bifocals in them(my boyfriend is 25 and definitely does not need bifocals). He then started telling us that we payed $ 100 for our frames when we could have just come to him to get the same pair for $ 25. Though the frames weren’t even the same color or style. Next, he started complaining about business and how he doesn’t get any good business from carrying Adidas frames. I don’t mean to be insensitive, but I don’t need to hear about bad business when I’ve come in to give you my money and support. I just don’t feel that it’s appropriate to complain about it to a customer. Anyway, if you’re on a tight budget its a good place to go. If you expect really great customer service… not so much.

I’ve been supporting this place for years. Its the same receptionist since the dawn of time and the owner Rick is a very friendly helpful guy. They are fast, friendly and always do a great job. Its kind of a time warp too. I definitely feel like I’m in the 80’s when I go here. This place is also the best place in town to get vintage frames filled. Support this place!
