Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Very friendly staff and we didn’t have to wait for a table. I got the beef hash which was really tasty! My boyfriend got the bagel & lox and there wasn’t enough salmon to go on both halves of the bagel. They also didn’t give him any tomatoes so probably wouldn’t suggest that dish if you’re a big bagel & lox fan.

Nice menu with fresh food and original daily species in a pretty space. Love the light filled interior and the breakfast menu!

I attended a meeting in the neighborhood today, so I asked my contact for the name of a good place to eat lunch, and they suggested Daily Café just around the corner. It was an OK choice, and they do offer breakast all day along with soup, salad, and sandwiches. There is no signage offering guidance on seating and ordering protocol. The servers were great about answering my questions, but it was time consuming to do so and also quite frustrating. A sign with instructions would be far more efficient. I ordered the 2×2(home fries, two eggs, and rye toast; I added some chicken apple sausage and Earl Grey tea). I’m persnickety about scrambled eggs, and these were both tender and cooked through. The home fries were about half overcooked and tough. The toast and sausage were both perfectly done. Once you learn the drill here, you’re good, but getting there is frustrating and time-consuming. I want the restaurant to make it easy for me, which will keep me coming back. While the eggs were cooked perfectly, I also wanted my potatoes cooked perfectly as well. I would return if another friend wanted to eat here, but on my own I would probably choose not to return.

I have tried to go a couple of times but the wait was either too long or there’s no open tables. I finally made it during the holiday when everyone was staying in and the overall experience was mediocre. The set up was chaotic. My group of 4 showed up and not knowing if we should grab the last couple of tables first or place our order first. Then I was half expecting a number tag but instead they took our names. The servers were supposed to be walking around and shouting our name. I can’t imagine that being efficient during busy times. Coffee was excellent but food choices were a bit lacking and i thought my foods were just ok. I wasn’t sure if we bus our own tables or not either in the end. I saw some people did and some didn’t. Signage or host would have helped the operations more. For now, there are better places in that area for me. Oh well…

We only started coming here because we live one block away. This place is the definition of inconsistent. The food is o.k. when it is on the menu, but often simple items like omelettes are not on the menu. They often forget side items like bacon and syrup which is ridiculous. Sometimes they seat you and sometimes you have to seat yourself. They let people stand in the front of the place confused. I can’t believe that they stay in business and have a following. In my world service matters and with their ridiculous prices, their service should be top notch. They also make you pay BEFORE you get food which makes no sense. Probably because they are inconsistent and this gives them undeserving tips. Today, the food was so disgusting, I left and went to Denny’s.

This restaurant is yet another example of how ignorant and white washed Portland is. The wait staff was slow as hell on our food and to top it all off they messed up my food and my mother’s food 3 fucking times! And what do you know all the other white families got excellent food and service. If my mom is going to pay $ 40.00 to take me out for breakfast it there better be high quality service. Once again another restaurant has reminded my mother and I that Portland is a white city made only for the whites.

Service is really good. The owner is a hoot and the friendliest hostess I’ve ever had. Got the brioche French toast which was EXCELLENT! The frittata is also very good. Price a little high for amount of food you get. Suggest getting a side of something if you’re really hungry. Also a plus, spotted a famous movie actor eating at the café while we dined there!

The first time I went here, I got the breakfast sandwich and it was the BEST breakfast sandwich I think I’ve ever had. It was a little more on the expensive side, after adding tomato and avocado, but worth it. So I returned weeks later to have it again! However, this time when I received the sandwich it didn’t have any tomatoes on it, but I paid the extra $ 2 for it. Which, after the fact, seems kind of ridiculous to charge for one maybe two slices of tomato. It was good, but a little more attention to the food going out would be beneficial!

I’m struggling between giving this restaurant a 2 or 3 star review. I ordered their Chicken Tarragon Salad, which at $ 9.50 should be pretty wonderful. Right? The menu says that the chicken is mixed with red onion, celery, and a creamy tarragon dressing, topped with sliced almonds and red grapes. It is put over mixed greens with oil and red vinegar dressing. This had to be one of the blandest salads I have ever been served in a restaurant. I had no red onion and if there was any celery, I didn’t get any. I had 3 grape halves. The amount of chicken salad given was pretty small, too. Worth $ 9.50? Maybe worth $ 5. To give the place credit, when I complained they gave me a heap of red onion, which improved the meal. I started writing this review and I felt as though the staff came over, one by one, and saw that I was writing a Unilocal review. Maybe I am being paranoid. A woman, who I assume was the owner or manager came over and said she understood that I was unhappy with the meal. I tried to explain that it seemed that items that were supposed to be in the salad were either missing or in very short supply. She cut me off and said she would just return my money, which she did. She seemed a bit put out over the whole thing. What was I looking for? As a former small business owner, myself, I would appreciate the manager really listening to me… hearing me out. Then I would like to hear that they will try to make sure the way their food item is described in the menu will in future be correct… They will beef it up. I am always looking for a really good salad for lunch. I’m sorry that I didn’t find one here.

Average brunch place in Downtown PDX. Went with high hopes was slightly disappointed. It wasn’t bad per-se, but the standard of weekend brunch in PDX is so high that it makes it hard to stand out. Any other medium to big city and this would have been a good place, but here its about average. I got the Chorizos migas which didn’t have that much Chorizo in it. The portion size was on the smaller side as well. Potatoes were ok. Didn’t get the feeling that I had a great brunch after I had finished eating. Strictly so-so. Ambience and service is good though.

My husband and I just spent our first weekend in Portland and we were staying nearby. We found Daily Café on Unilocal and decided to give it a try for brunch. I ended up choosing the Smoked Salmon Plate and thought it was absolutely delicious and surprisingly filling. The smoked salmon was extremely fresh, and there was a generous amount of it. The sesame bagel was perfectly toasted. The cream cheese was delicious, though I wish there was a bit more of it. The cucumbers and the salad was also very fresh! The mimosa was also very tasty! My husband ordered the Chorizo Migas and seemed to also really enjoy it. You order and pay for your food first, and then sit down. The line was pretty long, but went decently fast. All of the staff were super nice and accommodating. I would definitely go back to this place. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I wish there was a bit more options on the menu. I’ve only been there once and it also happened to be Labour Day, so I’m not sure what their normal menu looks like, but I wished there was a bit more variety of dishes as well. Overall though, the food I ate was deliciousssss.

Modern industrial eatery serving hip breakfast food to throngs of hungry customers. The bbq hash was amayzing! Apple sausage was good but not as epic as some reviewers say. Fresh orange juice was such a big deal when I was jet lagged and dehydrated from the plane. Want to go back and try more of the food: melon appetizer, veggie hash etc.

Contemporary and comfortable café/coffee shop. Very friendly staff. Amazing blueberry cornmeal griddle cakes(aka everywhere else in the country as pancakes). At $ 1.50/slice the bacon was pretty expensive. But it was pretty good. If we’re in the area and hungry for brunch, we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Chic, laidback, and comfy. It’s like taking any typical café to a five-star level! Local artwork and products are featured(like the healthy Portland Ketchup Company), food is fresh and crafted well, and the ambiance is serene. I tried the tomato frittata with golden roasted tomatoes, basil, and burrata cheese. HUZZAHFORBURRATACHEESE. I’m converted. But anyway, this frittata was not as heavy as I expected, but had a refreshing garden taste with a hint of savory smokiness from the roast on the tomatoes. Plus those golden taters were seasoned beautifully with a wonderful soft texture and crispy edges. Note that the menu changes weekly, so keep your eyes opened for more delectable offerings from here!

What a great brunch spot in the Pearl. Growing up in Oregon we never had places like this until recently. Now that it’s here I love it and I loved this place and would come back anytime. The food(brunch menu is what we had) was delicious, especially the french toast and the bagel sandwich. The almond scone was on point and better than a lot of pasty places. When we went, it was Saturday at 11am and we were able to get a table with no problems and the food came out pretty quick. Can’t wait to get back to Oregon bc I will definitely be taking others back

Good café. Great for lunch. Went there with one of my employees and it was really a good experience. There were a lot of great people working at the counter and serving the tables. Very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is light and has a good energy. The tables are a light wood and the lighting was at a good level. Not too moody and perfect for a mid day meal. I had the cavatappi pasta & white cheddar cheese sauce. It was pretty amazing overall. Great flavor, a little heavy for lunch but fantastic tasting overall. I will probably be going here again to taste other items on our menu.

Eggs Benedict were NOT poached, basically hard boiled. Wife’s egg was swimming in oil. Potato home fries were great. Pancakes were ok. Overall, eh…

Great place in the Pearl District for breakfast. The pins colada smoothie was refreshing and the pork belly maple hash was tops! Will try again!
