Danielle’s Table

Danielle’s assessment skills are beyond amazing. I am a massage therapist myself so I can really appreciate how much knowledge goes into being able to just take a look at someone as they sit in a chair and accurately assess where their pain and muscle weaknesses are. Her touch is intuitive and her technique is great, and she has that rare ability to make deep therapeutic massage still be relaxing. She is friendly and makes an effort to connect on a personal level. And since I was the last client of the day for her she extended my table time to accommodate my needs. In short she earned every penny I paid her.
The only reason I don’t give her five stars is that despite her very thorough assessment she didn’t ask what I specifically wanted from my massage, and so didn’t understand how important it was to me to have a couple of areas specifically addressed. As it is easy to lose track of time when you are on the table, I didn’t realize that my time would end before we got to the two areas that were my particular motivation to seek massage that day.
I will definitely go back to Danielle, I just will know to be vocal about my specific needs. I just would encourage first time clients to speak up about their exact expectations before the massage.

I do martial arts and suffer from nagging injuries and pain. Danielle Prado is one of the few (if only) massage therapists who has the technique, strength, and dedication to healing your body. She is talented, and not for the faint of heart. I strongly recommend her — she is outstanding and has a great personality to go along with it. Spend the money and go for 90 minutes — you will not be disappointed. My body feels back to 100% literally one day after a massage.

Danielle brings a lot of medical background to her approach in massage. She is very good at treating pain and finding the cause. She is very personable and a great massage therapist.

I came here with a terrible knot in my back/​shoulder area. I felt she did a great massage and was very knowledgable. The reason for my two star review is strictly for the way my transaction was handled.
I was financially tight the month I saw Danielle but was in a lot of pain. I looked on groupon for something more affordable. Groupon was offering a discount on local deals so I bought one to see Danielle.
I scheduled an appointment with Danielle the same day my Groupon was purchased. Upon scheduling, I was asked to return/​cancel my Groupon and that she would honor the price I paid — Groupon took half of what I paid from her if I went through them. I thought this was forward of her but had no problem doing so to help her out. It was already affordable, so I would have liked her to keep as much as she could. I cancelled my Groupon and saw her that day.
She didn’t tell me my final cost and ran my card while I was there. I take partial responsibility for not asking what the total was when I was there.
The next day or so I noticed she charged me her original price through Groupon (a dollar more to be exact) vs the $ 10 less price I had paid. I emailed her to see if we could correct the transaction and she responded with «what to do now?» I asked if she could please refund my card the difference. She said that she would try and replied yet again with a guilt statement of «were my services not good enough for the original Groupon price?»
$ 10 is $ 10. I wouldn’t mind paying the extra $ 10 if we had discussed it prior as the massage was good, but just as she doesn’t want to give up$ 10 I don’t want to pay the extra $ 10 when I could have just kept the Groupon. To date, the $ 10 has not been refunded to me and this is almost two months later.
Businesses go on Groupon to generate more business. I will not be returning to a business if this is how it is run — guilting clients into paying more than they financially committed to. Again, it’s not the $ 10 I was annoyed with, it was the guilt trip I was given to keep the $ 10. If you’re that hard up, you can keep it as apparently you need it more than me.

Danielle was responsive to my requests, taught me several ways to care for my problem areas, and has a wonderful space to work in. I’ve had my share of massages, and this one was excellent! Highly recommended! Thank you Danielle:)

I have been looking for someone to go to on a regular basics for a long time and Danielle is hands down the best around!!! Her knowledge and technique is outstanding. I workout 5+ days a week and she works out any problem areas and always gives me insight and information on how to avoid certain movements so don’t continue to have the same issues.
Overall… Danielle is very professional and offers very competitive rates. I encourage anyone seeking a new masseuse to give Danielle a try. I refer all my friends and family knowing they with be taken care of and enjoy their experience.

Best massage and consult I’ve had– and I’ve been to a number of massage therapists for my crappy knotty back and tight muscles. As a chef I’m on my feet many hours a day and the physical toll is brutal. It is crucial to me that I see someone who understands this and is not only empathetic to my needs but has fruitful advice as to how to combat my ailments.
That being said Danielle was fantastic and absolutely thorough in going over my needs and my lifestyle. She caught right on to my poor posture as we were speaking and several other things that I could probably be doing better for myself.
Though the location is far out from me what drew me here was the sports massage angle — as I do a lot of aerobics and strength training outside of my physically demanding job.
Most knowledgable and thoughtful massage therapist I have been to and I think Danielle’s got a new permanent client. it’s nice to have finally found someone who understands my muscles!
Oh! Her homemade kombucha is amazing!

Danielle gave a wonderful deep tissue, thorough massage. She has a very calming presence, strong skills and a lovely, soothing office space for the work. I will recommend her to Portland friends.

When I think about my previous frame of mind about massages, I’m reminded of a scene in the movie Me and You and Everyone We Know when the female lead is in the shoe store. The salesman asks if her shoes are comfortable and she meekly says «I guess. they rub my ankles, but all shoes do that. I just have low ankles.» He looks her square in the eyes and says, «You think you deserve that pain, but you don’t.»
Danielle sat me down with a delicious glass of her own homemade kombucha and asked me where my pain was and how long I had been dealing with it. It shocked me to realize it’s been almost 10 years. I think that when you deal with something like that for long enough, it just becomes a normal — albeit uncomfortable — part of life. But it doesn’t have to be, and I’m very grateful to Danielle for helping me realize that.
I came here because of a Groupon, which I had purchased a few months back as a somewhat indulgent gift to myself on a payday. Massages always seemed like exuberant luxuries I couldn’t afford. It had been about three years since my last massage, and my muscles were begging me on their sore knees to help them out.
It was just a wonderful experience from start to finish. Danielle was extremely warm and friendly in the most genuine way. Her space is very relaxed and open. Lots of wood and earthy colors. She made me feel very comfortable and in control, and did frequent check-​ins to make sure I was getting the pressure I wanted. She even asked me to choose the Pandora station, which was a pleasant surprise.
Unlike the few other massage therapists I’ve been to in the past, Danielle doesn’t just have her own routine to do and go home. She genuinely wants to help you heal in the best way that works for you, and she has the talent to follow through.
She also did a great thing for me by asking about my health insurance. It turns out my insurance covers 27 massages a year for a small copay, which I had NO idea about for the last 4 years of my achey life. So I’m really looking forward to going back, especially now that I can afford it.
Do your muscles a favor and schedule some table time.

Great massage by Danielle de Prado! Found her on Groupon and lucked out! She was very patient and calm. The pressure of the massage was just right, and very relaxing! You won’t be disappointed!

I love Danielle’s attitude. She’s positive and uplifting. My massages went great and she really got in there and worked out the knots; as a sports massage should be done. She knows what she’s doing and she’s great at it. Definitely recommend seeing Danielle, especially for sports injuries.

Got my first massage from Danielle this week. whoo I sure needed it!.She found my sore spots almost immediately. The studio is nicely decorated and none of that obnoxious smelly candles or air «freshener» assaulting my nose. Her touch was just right, which she made sure I was comfortable with throughout the massage. She made sure I was never exposed during the service and was completely professional with her manipulations. I even got to pick the music. My only complaint is the tiny bathroom, no place to set down your stuff. I had to go during the massage and she was more than accommodating. July 18, 2013
