History

Established in 2008.

The owner of Deck Masters, llc Chris Marquand started his career in construction building houses back in 1992 at the age of 16. He attended the College of Architecture at Ball state University in Muncie IN in 1996 but never lost his love of hands on building. Over the years he worked for various contractors including construction and landscaping and always dreamed of someday owning his own business. After moving to Oregon in 2005 he decided it was time to take the plunge. Building decks and fences had always been a favorite of his so Deck Masters, llc was born. Today Deck Masters, llc is developing a reputation as a conscientious and quality building company that takes the time to do the job right. At Deck Masters, ‘Building Decks is our passion. Business Owner

I was born in Anderson IN in 1976. My family was compromised mostly of factory workers employed by GM. At the age of 16 a friend of mine convinced me to quit working at a grocery store and start working with his company building houses. I agreed to do it on the condition that I made more money. He managed to get me a whopping $ 5.55 an hour, which was ten cents more an hour than I had been making, so I agreed to do it. I ended up loving it and continued to do it off and on over the years while I went to college and after. I loved the camaraderie of working with a crew of skilled craftsmen, the freedom of working outdoors, the smell and feel of cutting the wood, and most of all the sense of accomplishment that came when a project was complete. I moved to Asheville, NC in 1999 and worked for a landscape contractor there where I installed rock patios and walls. I then moved to the west coast in 2005 and started Deck masters, llc in 2008
