So, what is Dirigo? Dirigo is a think tank of sorts, bringing its expertise, research, and analyses to decision making. We enjoy working with entrepreneurs who have ideas, passion, and the desire to bring new and existing products or services to market.

Our staff has more than 10 decades of traditional and Internet marketing, branding and planning, feasibility studies and competitive intelligence, information technology, e-​commerce, search engine optimization, pay-​per-​click strategies, reputation management, e-​mail, and direct response experience. We like to say that we’re technical marketers, a band of strategists, planners, and computer programmers engaged in marketing, branding, and selling. We have diverse backgrounds, varied education, and a sundry of perspectives. What is the same, though, is that Dirigo develops custom and integrative solutions to complex problems to support our clients’ business models and grow their revenue and profitability.

History

Established in 1993.

Our first client was www​.wom​en​towomen​.com. Others include Dow Jones, John​ny​Seeds​.com, 207brand​.com, kid​scrooked​house​.com, rus​sound​.com and many more.

The firm is led by Victoria Kuhn and David Addison. Both are California natives with strong business, marketing and technical backgrounds.

We partner with our clients to help them their achieve goals by setting SMART (e.g. specific, measureable, attainable, relevant, and time-​bound) goals and prioritizing them. Some companies excel at developing long-​term plans (e.g. 3 – 5 years), others create shorter-​term plans (e.g. 1 – 3 years). Either way, the key is to use the plan as a road map, to review, and augment (as needed) the plan according to changes in the business, periods of economic growth or constriction, and changes in the 5Ps (e.g. product, price, promotion, place/​distribution, and the profitability of the business).

Meet the Manager

Victoria K.

Manager

Victoria brings almost 20 years of strategy, marketing, brand positioning, facilitating groups, and research experience to her role with Strategy, Media & Content at Dirigo Design & Development, Inc. She leads our social marketing (including Facebook and Twitter), SEO, SEM/​PPC, blog, content generation, and competitive intelligence teams. What makes Victoria’s work special to her clients is her ability to integrate diverse strategy, branding, product, and marketing campaigns with a focus on return on investment (ROI). Early on, she built her career around offline channels like radio, broadcast and network TV, local print, and – wait for it – regional and national newspapers and magazines. She’s as comfortable with old media as new. Most clients need both.

Prior to joining Dirigo, Victoria spent 13 years at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (including the ol’ Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine) in roles such as Marketing Director, Chief of Staff to the GM, Plan Strategist, etc.
