I popped into the Good Food Here pod over this past sunny weekend for lunch with a friend. The second I eyed the mason jars I headed straight over and threw cash down. $ 4 Sangrias? Yes, please. Although I did not order any food from Divine Café, the gals in the cart were all super sweet, they even popped my sangria in a cooler area while I grabbed a gyro from another cart. I turn into a grouchy B when it gets too hot out, but DC had a nice covered patio area to enjoy lunch in and stay cool. The Sangria, itself, hit the spot. I opted for the white peach which was poured over a full jar of ice and topped with a few peach slices. My friend tried the red version and it looked decent as well. If you’re not into Sangria they have an assortment of beer as well. This is a fantastic component to have in any pod, as so many carts generally only offer a boring selection of soda, Pellegrino and water.

This place got me hooked when the friendly cart lady offered me a yummy soup sample. The menu is simple and they mainly offer sandwiches and salads with different kinds of vegetarian meats. I ordered the Killer Quesadillas and it had warm gooey cheese in a crispy soft tortilla, perfectly done. I would have liked to see a little more spinach and less cheese but overall it was very tasty.

I tried this place one time & have been wanting their Tempeh Reuben ever since. However, they’re never open! Their hours are posted but they’re never open when they should be. Disappointed.

Rose’s soups are to die for and I am only hoping that she will start selling them in local stores :)

The Divine Café is located in the East parking lot of NCNM. The staff is incredibly friendly and there’s tons of seating around the stand since it’s a hangout spot for the students. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I often get the tacos, the hefty quesadilla, dahl with fresh veggies or huge portion of stir fry. They always have very creative specials, I’m always impressed. I’m waiting for the tuna melt with pears to come back and I want it to be a regular item! They also offer kambucha, various breakfast items, pastries and DragonFly Chai. They have a ton of options. The pulled pork sandwich is a little too small for me to order again, but really good. I hope one day they get their tempeh reuben back on the menu — it was amazing! Price-wise, it’s a bit spendy for a food cart, but you know why because the ingredients are of higher quality than your typical food cart. I know the owner has made trips to the local farmer’s market for ingredients(loved when brussel sprouts were in season!) and always goes for a local flair. They’re very attentive to any dietary needs, so don’t be afraid to inquire about how they can accommodate. They are open around the college’s school schedule, so that means they’re closed during the summer and winter break. Check the school’s calendar since Divine Café’s hours coincide.
