This is now my favorite spot for food truck mexican near the office. Keep up the good work.

Inexpensive, filling, overall pleasing breakfast burrito. We split one as part of a wander-around-SW-eating-things morning and it was a worthwhile, vegetarian protein based stop between croissant and donut.

Marinated steak quesadilla plate, blam! Tamale plate, double blam! Nice people, good food; that’s all you need to know.

Housed in the building of what was formerly a national fast food chain, this is a great little reasonably priced stop for Mexican food. Both the hubby and I had burritos and they were quite large. He gobbled up the carnitas and I had a wet veggie burrito which was stuffed with fresh veggies — so big I took half home for later. The kiddo had the roasted pollo with fries and a salad. All great. The fries were crinkly and cooked just right. They even have a burger on the menu for when you have that friend along who’s looking for a different menu. I also liked that in addition to soft drinks they had a wide variety of drinks and fresh juices available, including horchata — Mexican almond/cinnamon rice milk — which was quite good. The folks working the counter were also very nice. Definitely a place we’d visit again when in the area.

I love tacos and these tacos are really good. The marinated steak was A+. They’re small so three tacos is the perfect amount.

Mexican food carts come in copious amounts in the city of Portland. Quite surely a Mexican place must be rather good in order to stand out. Don Pedro’s is a cart near 5th Ave & Pine Street, an important local bus hub. The silly thing is that there are other Mexican carts in that very pod of varying levels of quality. Don’s has seating on the rear of the cart and a large menu, along with fairly decent prices. I ordered while waiting for a bus. What I got was a steak burrito and a can of Coke for a grand total of $ 7. The meal came out with exceedingly wonderful efficiency. The meat was crispy and the flavor was balanced. I could eat it quickly and I remember it well. This isn’t the best Mexican cart in Portland, but it is well above average, though Su Casa on 82nd still exceeds it. Don Pedro’s is worthy of your next lunch.

The taco plate here is cheap and tastes amazing. You can get a lot of food for a small price. Great value! I just started eating here and I like it a lot

I haven’t tried a whole bunch of different things because my go-to order of enchiladas was so good that it’s all I seem to want to get. The red enchilada sauce is just amazing and the refried beans have this extra special taste that I can’t put my finger on, but doesn’t actually matter because it’s that good. In a sea of food carts in the downtown area, this is one place that stands out above the rest.

They already have a few brick-and-mortar spots throughout Portland, but I didn’t see a listing for their downtown food cart. It opened up maybe a couple months ago. The menu here is fairly standard. Me? I love hunting down and speed-eating breakfast burritos. That was the plan here as well, getting the $ 4 burrito with ham, egg, cheese, and potatoes, all inside a warm flour tortilla. I got some hot sauce to go with it, but my faithful Unilocal friends likely know by now that standard Mexican hot sauce will not make me flinch. A pretty good burrito here, quite pleasing in heft. The potatoes — really in the form of hash browns — were very soft and enjoyable. I loved the melted cheese. The ham gives some good meaty saltiness to the burrito. Not overflowing with meat, but still a nice amount. I’m happy they are open fairly early for a food cart(roughly 8 or 9 a.m.). They close for the day about 12 hours later. I was told they close only on Saturdays, but are open on all other days. With such a vast menu, I look forward to a future trip to this cart. Maybe I can hope for one of those Mexican breakfast burrito benders. I can just head to downtown Portland and proceed down the slippery slope to a panda food coma.
