History

Established in 2004.

In October 2004, Doug Fir Lounge opened it’s doors and made a dramatic impact on Portland’s music scene — and it’s lower Burnside neighborhood. Located just east of the downtown business core, Doug Fir is a state of the art venue that is unlike any live music room currently existing in Portland. Conveying a new twist on Northwest aesthetic, Doug Fir is swank yet comfortable. The interior of the club, bar and restaurant draws on 50’s modernism, with generous original woodwork, one of a kind glass design and a full range menu spanning breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night.

Menu and décor compliment one another, being a modernist dinner house with profound Northwest influence, an ideal somewhere between «Twin Peaks» and a chic, cosmopolitan truck stop. Like the name itself, Doug Fir conveys a local traditionalism, and the menus, the hospitality, the sense of old-school comfort and elegance follow that mark.
