These guys are fantastic. I have a 2007 MINI that misbehaves frequently, and they have really delivered when I’ve needed them. Great service, very honest, affordable. Highly recommend.

This place was great! It takes customer service and kindness to a whole new level. This garage was recommended for my Mini Cooper service. I decided to drive down and see how long it would take to get my car in. The engine light was on and it sounded strange (big gulp). Whit did the diagnostic right away, they fixed it within 20minutes and didn’t charge me for the diagnostic! (Dealership $ 95… Another garage $ 50)! So impressed! Recommendation 200%

I’ve been taking my Mini Cooper to DynaSport for several years now after getting frustrated with the dealer’s service. I’ve never regretted making that change – I get to talk to someone who knows about the car (not to a receptionist who conveys my info to a service person), they get it done when they say they will, and their prices are fair. If you need a waiting room with lots of pampering and amenities this is probably not the place for you, and you might need to arrange your own transportation. The office is spartan, but not uncomfortable, and since it’s pretty close in, it’s easy for me to take a bus there or arrange transit.

Ok, so, Whit over at DynaSport may have just saved my life (and more importantly, the lives of the two adorable miniature husky puppies who accompany me everywhere).
My Mini Cooper’s rear wheel was making an ominous clunking sound. As my car is an already confirmed cursed deathtrap lemon, I assumed it must be something complicated and expensive, and didn’t even try to look at it myself.
I took the car over to DynaSport this morning and within an hour he called to tell me that the last mechanic who took the wheel off a couple of months ago had left all but one of the lug nuts completely loose, and that the wheel could have flown off at any second. Good to know???
They tightened the lug nuts and didn’t even charge me for their time. I wish I’d found these guys sooner — they’ll definitely be getting all of my MiniCoop business from now on. Ten stars.

I just want to say thanks for being honest an able to figure out what the problem was with our car an for fixing it. We took it to the large BMW shops an they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it with all there expensive equipment an outrageous rates that they charge customers. Thanks…

honest, knowledgable, fair!!! they know mini coopers very well… had a great experience. will never take my mini anywhere else.

I wasn’t too pleased with my usual shop anyway, and when I called them with my convertible top issue, they sent me away, saying «We don’t do those.» It was a brusque dismissal, and I had been a regular customer (albeit, as mentioned, not really a happy one).
So I visited Unilocal.Looked at reviews. Saw DynaSport, gave them a call: «Bring it in!», they said. «We can fix it.» My car is a BMW. I was prepared for a long wait for parts and a bill big enough to rebuild New Orleans after Katrina.
I took the car in at 9:00. At 2:00 that afternoon they called: «All done.» No parts were required. It was a broken wire. I’ve spent more money at the grocery store than I spent at DynaSport that afternoon. They were pleasant, informative, and truly knew what they were doing (did you know that BMW convertible tops have their own computer!!!). And they’re on the streetcar line.
DynaSport is in my Contacts file now. All the rest are gone. Five stars only because that’s the limit.

Satisfied on multiple occasions. No upsell pressure, laundry list of «needed» services and almost always less expensive than the Monopoly (I mean the Dealer.) The only time Dynasport’s quote came in higher was for rear brakes as they apparently use a superior disc/​pad manufacturer.
The only slight negative is its the type of place you drop off your vehicle and arrange for transportation. That is, the waiting area is not very conducive to hanging out, and I’m not sure if they offer a loaner car. Lastly, they are not open on Saturday.
The techs and front desk crew are forthright, cool, with no «do you want fries with that» attitude.

This outfit is very difficult to review; some days they are the best in customer service, yet when they are busy they can be the worst. In other words. this company’s service and customer care are erratic at best and it is purely luck whether a customer gets good service or not. The randomness of the company’s customer service drives me crazy and I will not take my business here again.
For example, Dyna Sport replaced the flex disc and shift rod seal for my BMW E36/​7 on July 20 and did an excellent job in a timely manner. The cost was reasonable and fair. I probably could have done these jobs myself if not for the fact that I do not have a lift; replacing these items with the car on jack stands would have been difficult.
Then, on August 4^th I bought a set of Powerflex lower control arm bushes from this company. What a mistake this was… not only did Ryan tell me that he can remove the original stock bushes and install Powerflex bushes into the housing in 10 minutes for $ 10, but he also told me that the installed Powerflex bush and the housing can be installed on the lower control arm without a special tool.
What a bunch of crock that was… when I called to have the original bush removed and Powerflex bushes pressed into the housing, the service manager told me Ryan is too busy to do this and did not know when Ryan would have the time to take care of this. Thus, I went to a machine shop nearby my house (Steve’s Machine Shop) to have the original bushes taken out and Powerflex bushes pressed into the housing.
I also found out that Dyna Sport will not provide me with accurate advice in installing the housing (with Powerflex bushes pressed in) onto the lower control arm. I was told to use a pry bar and muscle to align the two bolts that are screwed into the chassis. I sent an email via the company’s website requesting help, yet I received no reply. Since Dyna Sport was unwilling to help I finally called an online retailer (Bavarian Autosports) and got help from them instead.
Apparently the whole procedure is very easy if a special tool is used (Control Arm Bushing Press — CTA Tools). I bought this tool from Bavarian Autosports and I was able to install the two housings within 30 minutes; it was extremely easy with that tool.
I believe it is irresponsible for Dyna Sport to ignore a customer who buys Powerflex products if it is an official authorized vendor for Powerflex products. I plan to make a formal complaint to Powerflex and hope that this will improve the service of this vendor.

Folks there have always been great! Very honest friendly and timely. Easy to schedule an appointment and they always do a great job. Have had a few cars over there for routine maintaince and always impressed with the quality of work and explanation of what was done. Highly recommended! Thanks DynaSport!

The guys at Dynasport are simply the best, no questions asked! No charge to diagnose warning lights and they don’t push things on you that you don’t need. They tell you honestly and simply what you will need to service down the road but they don’t try to trick you into thinking your car will spontaneously combust if you don’t do $ 3000 in unnecessary repairs.
These guys are all about honest, integrity, and transparency. .. all of which are extremely rare in an industry where it seems like every shop is out to get you to spend as much money as possible every time your in their office.
Have a BMW or Mini, I HIGHLY recommend DynaSport for your service and performance needs!!!

I bought a used BMW Z4 and did a crappy job doing it. All I saw was shiny, cool and faster than my ford minivan –oooh, here’s my money, thank-​you very much.
Since then, I have compiled a list of all the things that need to be repaired. Some of them now, some later but all needing to be done. Some of this list comes from my own knowledge or cars and some from forums and other bathroom lawyer types who have nothing but doom and gloom to spread.
It happened one day this week that my car kinda died in downtown Portland on my lunch hour. It would start but it had no power and there was a funny idle, as well. I had stalled the car when parking and when I restarted it was all messed up and couldn’t be driven. It’s like it Blue Screened.
I called Kuni and spoke with their service department. «Have you ever heard of this before? can I wait it out??» to which they replied, «Hmmm, I never heard of anything like that. You should have it towed in to our Beaverton Center.» Seriously?
Frustrated with Kuni over this and some really poor customer service we had last month, I googled other, closer BMW repair shops and found DynaSport just a few blocks from where I work in NW. I called them and the front desk guy gave me their towing company info. Then, as I was dialing, I tried the car again and VROOOM, back to life it came.
I decided to swing by DynaSport anyway as my check engine light was on. I explained to a couple of guys there what happened and I one of them said, «do you want me to tell you what happened?» GAWD, I love that answer!!! Of course I did. He explained to me that the problem is just a freaky computer deal and there’s no residual effect at all. He then grabbed his BMW OBD2 machine and cleared the Check Engine code. Didn’t want a dime.
Why couldn’t Kuni tell me that? Oh yeah, because they wanted $ 500 and for me to sit in their waiting room eating chocolate strawberries for 2 hours before imparting such information as if they «solved the mystery!!»
So back at DynaSport, we started talking about my list of things that I thought needed repair and he said, «let’s take it for a drive.» Oh hell yeah! (this stuff never happens to me!) So off we go and here’s what he told me:
I don’t need a new clutch.
I don’t need a flex disk.
I don’t need to worry about my transmission (3^rd gear issue).
I don’t need new brakes (until the car tells me I do.)
I DO need to get my front struts fixed.
Now, maybe some of these things will break. Maybe california will fall into the Sea, I dunno. I just know that the odds are they will not.
Ryan could have soaked me for thousands of dollars and I would have gladly ponied up –cause really, he’s a nice guy and it’s close to work, and what do I really know about cars these days, anyway?
At 55, I’m older and I think I know something about cars but really that list of things I made up is based on outdated information. It’s not the reality of today’s vehicles. It takes a pro and an honest one to assess a car like this BMW. I may have done a bad job buying it, but really I just believed what the seller told me (and why should I be able to do that?). This time, maybe, just maybe I’ll get lucky with this car. Time will tell.
The result of my visit to DynaSport sent me from completely bummed out to super elated all in the span of 20 minutes. I feel like I have a new friend in the industry –someone that has a proven record of being an honest broker.
I think he sleeps well at night.
DynaSport did me a good turn and they have a new customer (and as many more as I can send their way).

When my power steering failed, prior to the recall, I contacted Beaverton MINI and was told they could pencil me in in about a month and it would cost well over a thousand. Scary… My fiancé called DynaSport and they scheduled me for the same week and the price was just over half the MINI quote. That’s it, gamechanger! I’ve since had two oil changes, front arm bushings, other random stuff, and about to get front brakes replaced and see about some trim replacements on my beloved ’04 Bettie. I can’t say enough nice things about these guys! Fiancé just bought his first MINI and there’s no question who will be getting that business.

I’ve been a customer for several years now. I have a 2004 Mini Cooper. They’ve done standard oil services, fixed a broken lock, a front wheel speed sensor, install a aux connection for the old stereo. When I just dropped by with a broken backup light, they fixed that too. I had them fully inspect the car when i was deciding whether to keep or sell (I am keeping it… paid for). They know their Minis! And unlike the dealer, the prices are reasonable. But, if lots of receptionists and glitz are your thing, stay with the dealer. The people who work the phones might actually be laying hands on a car here. Frankly, that’s what I like to see. Bring your mini here. You won’t be sorry!

I’ve been going to this place for quite awhile. They are pretty accomodation with their schedule to fit me in when possible. Great service. Doesn’t matter that I don’t drive a BMW or Mini. Highly recoommend this place to anyone looking for honest work on their autos.

The clutch failure light came on in my 2006 M5, and I called them up after seeing pretty good reviews here on Unilocal.They told me to bring it on in the next morning to have it diagnosed and they found the problem immediately. The car was fixed when they said it would be, and I haven’t had any issues with it.
What impressed me is that they didn’t take advantage of the situation. The E60 M5 is notorious for having serious transmission issues, and they can be costly. Ryan could have said the flywheel needed to be replaced or something, and done unnecessary work, but they didn’t.
I will be back for future work.

I’m giving them a 3 only because they do good work with prices lower than the dealer and they WERE pretty flexible and COULD see you right away.
The downside? They have as of late not been returning calls to get my car in or ordering simple parts that I was looking for. Don’t want my money? Fine I’ll go somewhere else.

DynaSport is great! They have an awesome setup and really know their stuff.
They got my E34 coolant leak fixed in a weekend and they also diagnosed a tricky oil leak that had me chasing my tail for a while for free!
These are some real down to earth guys that can be trusted with your vehicle!

My 2006 MINI JCW had been rattling and twitching a fair bit, had me worried.
Called up these guys today and they were not only able to get me in to take a look right away, but also diagnosed AND fixed the issue (broken exhaust pipe @ center mount). Recommended oil change and tire rotation at same time while car was up on hoist (definitely due). Took all of 30 min. It’s driving much better now.
STRONGLY recommend DynaSport for your MINI maintenance and repairs. While the waiting area was itself okay, their pricing was extremely fair.

DynaSport saved us over a thousand dollars. I had some battery issues and AAA said it was just a bad battery so I got it replaced. Then I took it to Pacific Motorsports right after for my regular oil change and asked them to just take a look. They said they couldn’t get a read out from the computer at all. They said they checked the fuses and couldn’t find the issue. So their conclusion was my alternator readings were too low and my 30,000 mile car needed a new alternator that would cost about $ 1100.
Well we decided to get a second opinion and heard about DynaSport being a relatively new place that was certified for Mini Coopers. The owner has the same Mini Cooper as me and compared my alternator readings to his car and said they were perfect readings and were not low at all. He looked for the fuse to fix the computer, found it right away and fixed it. He was a really nice guy, charged only $ 50 for his time and the fuse and we were on our way. It’s been a couple months now and the car is still running great!!! This will be my go to place from now on for my Mini.
