Minimalistic. Cute. Friendly. Was treated well at this small coffee shop. They serve Rose Line & Heart, two local roasters. Couple places to sit and a few treats in their case. $ 3 for 16z coffee to go.

Overall, okay experience. I enjoyed the coffee. It was brewed perfectly and the house made syrups were pretty good. However, the vibe was weird. I didn’t enjoy my service and the girl working put off a negative energy. The baked goods were okay maybe purchased some where since this coffee shop is so tiny there’s no way they bake them in house. I wouldn’t refer anyone. In a town like Portland there is a million higher quality coffee shops.

Very cute! Great coffee! And super friendly – I spilt my coffee everywhere and they made me a new one and cleaned it up for me. So embarrassing, but they handled it like champs.

This place is incredible! Even their house chai is awesome. I don’t get out much, but I’ve never seen espresso flights on the menu anywhere else.

I love a vanilla latte in the morning and this is the best place I’ve found. It’s a small quaint little place and they take their coffee making very seriously. When I’m in the area, I love coming by. If your looking for a smooth cup of coffee or espresso, this is the place.

This place is a creative genius when it comes to drinks. The café is small and unimpressive in décor compared to other places around Portland like Ristretto, Coava, etc., but that’s because they mainly focus on the quality and let it stand by itself. I highly recommend the chai, the pairing flight, or the rotating mock-tales.

I was so happy when Either/Or opened a couple of years ago since it’s my neighborhood coffee spot. Their chai is the best I’ve had and I’ve had a lot of chai. Ro, the owner, makes it from scratch and it’s definitely worth trying. And their Mexican mocha is just as amazing. Love the drinks and baristas!

Great coffee, vibe and wifi. Nice things in the area to explore. Place is a bit small and there are no power plugs. Otherwise, great place.

Give the Tanglewood Ginger Chai a try — it’s got a lot of spice. Coffee was dark and great but if I had to choose… the chai over everything. There isn’t a lot of seating inside but during the summer months, there’s 3 picnic tables outside for seating so it’s all good. I shall be back.

Ever since discovering them on Unilocal a couple of months back, I’ve been super excited to check out Either/Or. Maybe I overhyped the place in my own mind, but it’s not the slam dunk that I had expected. It’s nice. It’s cute. If you live in the neighborhood it’s probably a good asset, but it’s definitely not on my list of destination coffee shops. One thing that immediately surprised me about this shop was its size. With three tables and one couch inside, it’s teeny tiny! This isn’t a bad thing, it’s just definitely not something I had expected. It might be good for a coffee date, but as a place to hold a meeting, there’s really no privacy to be had. This is exasperated by their decision to cover all of their electric outlets. They have free wifi, but they’re clearly not trying to court the business crowd. All of this is well and good, and I wouldn’t hold a place’s star rating hostage simply due to their concept. Unfortunately, for me the deal breaker was the coffee itself. My two cups of black drip coffee were pretty small and just weren’t very good. They were brewing something from Heart Roasters at the time, and they definitely roast good beans. I’m not sure what was wrong, but to me the coffee was off. My guest did seem to enjoy his espresso drink, however. Maybe that’s the way to go on a visit to Either/Or. I wouldn’t turn down another visit to Either/Or, and hopefully I’ll become a superfan.

Cute, Cute, Cute! :-) It was love at first site when I walked through these doors. Cute little antique, back in time coffee shop. The barista was super nice. Had a vanilla latte and it was super yummy. They offer espresso flights, hand made sodas and snackies as well. Got to come back for that. Highly recommend EITHER /OR. 2015 – 53

Well hello there, you cute little gem of a coffee shop you. It was lust at first glance; it was love at first sip. Either/Or has entered my heart, and I think its there to stay. This tiny, antique chic coffee shop may be small, but it has it all. Espresso flights come complete with food pairings and bubbly water to cleanse the palate. The little sweets they offer are really fresh, interesting and tasty. A ginger, orange peel soda will make you swear off that bottled stuff for good. And if you’re anything like me, that coffee soda will invoke a love affair so strong, you’ll pack your bags and plan to run away with it. And the baristas know their beans. A tasting at Either/Or provides the same sort of knowledge and experience you’d have at a beautiful tasting room in the Willamette Valley; you just get a different kind of buzz. The barista gives a short introduction to the espresso, and with those tasting notes in mind, you can assert with confidence that you«detect a slight caramel nuttiness on the forefront.» This is the place for coffee enthusiasts/snobs/addicts/lovers to feel at home.

This place is amazing. It is a sweet hole in the wall coffee shop. The staff knows what they are talking about. I had a double espresso and tried my friends buttered yam, and they were both divine. The espresso was smooth and creamy. I had a hard time not drinking it too fast because it was so good. The buttered yam was sweet with a bit of spice and a buttery finish at the end. I will defiantly be going out of my way for this place.

What a cute little place for Sunday morning coffee! My best friend and I went on a coffee date, we searched for shops near her place and found Either/Or. There’s not a whole lot of seating in the small space, just a few small tables along a bench and a love-seat against the window. I had a non-fat mocha and one of their bagels with cream cheese. My friend had a vanilla latte with hemp milk and a croissant. They have a toaster for the bagels but, unfortunately, not one big enough for the croissant – my friend was a little disappointed that it wasn’t heated up. The barista did put it on top of the toaster to slightly warm it and that was a good attempt… didn’t work too well. We both enjoyed our coffee, it was made correctly as specified. It was a nice and quiet environment to catch up. We were there socializing for a little more than an hour but never felt rush to leave and there wasn’t people hovering around for a seat. Oh, the staff was super nice! We were greeted as we walked in and when we left. I think this might be my new go to place for coffee dates.

THREEWORDS: SPICYGINGERCHAI. OK wait, six words: Spicy Ginger Chai with hemp milk. So good. I’m not a big caffeine drinker so I originally was going to just have a steamer, but the girl who worked there suggested I get the Chai. I get Chai at a lot of places, this is one of the best that I’ve had. Try it if you like Chai! They make it in house. Apparently, it has less caffeine than decaf coffee.

Best Americano in town by far, two tarts macaroons, good music, I love this place. I wish there was more room to work because I want to live here. This is soon to be my new office for my virtual job. That Americano will keep me powered.

It’s hard to believe that Either/Or(named from Kierkegaard’s famous philosophy book, I think), is so small, since the new proprietors, Natasha and Ro have opened up this coffee shop(formerly, Lovecup), and created a spacious, light and bright, but typically Portland funky café! From Earl Grey Roobios tea to locally roasted small batch coffee to a flight of espresso, with food pairings(so smart!!!), this café is special. The owners are super friendly in a gentle way, and it’s clear they know and love coffee!!! Along with your coffee, espresso or tea, you can get a tasty sandwich(like fig and goat cheese) or a bagel or another beautiful pastry. Either/Or is tucked into an area of Sellwood that’s easy to miss, but you really shouldn’t! Either/Or is a real treat!

I’m not sure what happened to my beloved Lovecup(RIP), but this new café in its place is lovely! Clean and simple, short and sweet menu featuring Heart coffee( ) and their own house-made flavored syrups, plus a small case of carefully selected pastries, including my favorite Bowery bagels. It’s small and cozy, with picnic tables out front, and a generally mellow vibe. Leave the ankle biters at home, this is a grown-up coffee shop. I will definitely add this one to the Sellwood coffee rotation. Olé!
