History
Established in 1995.
Our music school in Portland grew out of the teaching of Brian Eliason, who created both the complete instruction method as well as the Goldilocks teaching method. This method was so successful that Mr. Eliason began teaching the method to other teachers in the Portland Area. The school has grown from 40 students to over 325 students and the method is used for guitar, violin, cello and piano lessons. Mr. Eliason’s goal was to design a method of teaching that would simplify learning an instrument so students could learn comfortably and with ease. The method has proven to be very helpful and popular and it continues to grow.

Brian Eliason has been teaching and performing violin for over 20 years. Brian received his Education in Music from the University of Utah as well as Master’s degree training from the University of Oregon. After spending years performing groups such as the Eugene Symphony, the Oregon Symphony and the Portland Opera he decided to focus more on his teaching he developed a unique method of teaching called complete instruction. This method helps students avoid the pitfalls of other methods and makes the learning easier and more natural for the student.
