Embassy Suites Hotel

I used to live embassy suites but my last stay during the holidays was not great. The staff is great, the mangers reception was nice, and the food was good but my suite had a toilet that dripped all night and kept me up. This was supposed to be my once a year vacation to unwind from work and grad school and I could not even use the hot tub. Each night and day I went to use the hot tub but was unable to enjoy it much less step foot in it due to non– tax paying children occupying the hot tub at all hours even during 10pm– 12am which is supposed to be adult «swim time». I thought kids weren’t allowed in the hot tub. I have travelled the U. S. and I have stayed in countless embassy suites but this stay was disappointing

Overall, a great hotel. Great service, tons of high quality and free amenities. Spacious rooms, low prices for what you get in return. The ones thing that is a draw back is that they allow the kids to swim all night, so there really isn’t an adult swim feature as advertised. The staff walk right by kids swimming after hours and don’t say anything, but other than that, this place is a gem.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Asked for an extra chair in our room and it was there within 5 minutes! Maxx, the Omlet guy, is a great start to your day with his smile and wonderful personality… and he makes a very yummy Omlet! Hotel is right next to the airport, but never heard a plane… had a view of the runway, pretty at night with the lights. Our room was nice and clean and the bed was great… will stay here again. Be sure you go to all the lighthouses and there is a covered bridge close by. Really good food at Susan’s Fish and Chips and Miss Portland Diner.

When first approaching this Embassy Suites, you may be confused — are you sleeping IN the airport? Almost! Even more confusing is that in the three days we were there we NEVER HEARD A SINGLE PLANE! How? Dunno. They even have an arrival departure board in the lobby.
10 minute drive to downtown, so you definitely need/​want a car. Close to the freeway.

I was somewhat worried about it being so close to the airport but I didn’t really notice planes at all, I think I heard one taking off once or twice but it was during the day and never an issue at night. The breakfast had plenty of choices and the evening reception was a nice break in the day. The rooms seemed a little small with the bathroom being a tight squeeze with the toilet and the shower section. The prices were probably $ 100 less than the waterfront hotels but we found we could drive there and park and walk around to get that waterfront atmosphere. I liked the evening fire pit, it was a nice place to relax and unwind at the end of the day

This hotel is close the airport but the service level is the reason I had to give it two stars. The hotel is a bit disheveled and unorganized for a Embassy Suites which are usually tightly run. We were very disappointed with the check in process too. The reservationist said there were plenty of rooms and we could check in a 1:45 then we proceeded to wait in the lobby for an hour and half while they cleaned the room.

Really nice hotel. Great staff. Tasty, local beer on tap; friendly bar staff. Great rooms, with windows that open. Great, free breakfast with made to order omelettes. Great location right next to airport. Only negative is that they have one of those Douwe Egberts coffee machines that mixes hot water with a processed coffee syrup to create your beverage. It’s not brewed. It’s like a tone deaf person singing our national anthem through AutoTune. Sure, the notes are all there, but it’s wrong. Still a great hotel, just bring your AeroPress.

Would be happy to give 5 stars for our room, but the manager of this hotel is doing a very poor job! Just had a drink at the bar last Eve & we were impressed w/​Joanne, the bartender.
This evening, It was evident, the hotel was understaffed, as soon as we came downstairs to the lobby. Happy hour had apparently just ended & there was food & trash all over the floor under the appetizer table.
We ordered dinner, again Joanne rallied, to keep things moving… in spite of the fact there was only 1 server & the hostess all struggling to handle the crowd.
We are loyal Hilton members, but very disappointed with the mgmt. at this property.

Pretty sweet hotel. Free parking, breakfast and wifi. If you stay on the Premium floor you get unlimited access (well, 70-​something items is the cap but nobody is that cheap) to the vending machine which had drinks and snacks, although bottled water did run out once. Breakfast is really good with tons of organic and gluten-​free options. I still remember the cheesy omelet I got!

I would’ve given this hotel five stars but our hotel maids DID NOT do their jobs correctly more than once! Other than that slight hiccup (which got us a free gift bag the first time & a free night the second), our stay was awesome! Especially chef Max, he knew our omelette orders every morning and there was always a joke of the day. Now, back to the maids. They did not clean up the trash we left the first night and left half a glass of water (which was ours). The second time they didn’t do their job correctly, they left an empty soda can, a piece of trash, and turned our air down to SIXTY degrees! (No bueno). The third time was hiding the remote and leaving another empty soda can!

A competent, clean hotel. Better than most Embassy Suites we’ve stayed at. Very convenient location. Staff was friendly.
Breakfast was standard Embassy — kept you feed but not particularly fancy. Since I’m more an oatmeal and fruit type — just fine.
Surprisingly, their restaurant was really good! Most Embassy food for me is a cheeseburger from room service when I get in late and am too tired to explore.
However, this place really did a good job comparable to the restaurants in town. For our two dinners we had lobster rolls for one and lobster ravioli for the other. They were excellent. It was actually a restaurant people seemed to go to rather than just stoke up because they were stuck.

Great hotel that is close to the airport and downtown Portland. The husband and I were flying into Portland, spending a full day touring the city, then leaving on our trip up the coast the following day. Since the hotel is literally across from the airport, they have a shuttle and will pick you up anytime, just call the hotel and let them know you are ready to be picked up. We landed at midnight got our bags, called, and they picked us up promptly.
The hotel itself is a typical Embassy Suites. Everthing was very clean. I liked the bathroom. They have the sink separate from the toilet and shower, which is nice so you can wash your face and use the sink while someone is using the toilet. They also had a towel rack and two hooks for your towels. The toilet/​shower area also had a fan, which is great.
The free breakfast is the best complimentary breakfast out there. Made to order omelets and other hot foods like french toast, hash browns, sausage and bacon.
The hotel is not in downtown Portland, but it is a short cab/​Über ride to the city. Comparable hotels in downtown Portland were really expensive — so staying here was a cost effective option. The husband and I Ubered it to the city in the morning, spent the day in the city, and Ubered it back at night. When we needed a ride back to the airport to pick up our rental car, they quickly drove us over in the free shuttle.

Our stay at the Embassy Suites in Portland was perfect. They could not have done anything better. From our first check in at the front desk to our last day out, the staff was not only accommodating, but friendly and welcoming as well. We were greeted so warmly every morning for breakfast. The wait staff knew that my husband liked hot sauce with his eggs and would bring it over whenever they saw us! They conversed with us about where we were from, etc. The made to order omelets were delicious! Evening snack (crackers, cheeses, veggies and drinks was a perfect return after a long day out. The best way I can describe it was that it had a Bed and Breakfast feel to it but at a hotel. I’ve never experienced that! Great job!

Came to this hotel that is located right next to the Portland airport for a team meeting in one of the conference rooms overlooking the lobby downstairs. Speaking of the lobby the layout was great with some art deco waterfall displays and was super clean.
The amenities were great with the price of the room not being as much as some of the local hotels around the area (it is funny how much they charge for rooms like this) but we had the access to Wi-​Fi and a large screen television to make presentations to (they also supplied a HDMI cable to assist if needed).
The heat is controllable and not by someone in a dark room … so we were able to regulate the temperature during the meeting for the day which is a plus after the lunch comatose that some feel later in the day.
As for the lunch that was part of the room was alacarte and went ot the restaurant area to eat it after ordering in the morning. I had the ceasar salad but the shrimp that I ate on top of the salad was very rubbery and not fresh.
The staff was super friendly but the manager was a little rough around the edges for an embassy suites but other than those little flaws, I would recommend this hotel for a meeting (we had 7 people at our meeting) especially convenient right next to the airport.

Nothing bad to say about this hotel. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is delicious, and the rooms are clean. Definitely would stay here again.

We have been returning here every year since they opened. Two room suites, always modern updates to keep it fresh, nice people, great location, great complete hot breakfast, Happy Hour, Dog friendly and now on Mondays a great live music group worthy of «The Voice!» Great find Stacy. We loved the music group! Where did you find them?

We stay here every summer when we visit our daughter at camp. The hotel is clean, the service is good, and the bartenders are friendly. It’s not your typical ES — it was a different hotel originally and modified with the 2-​room set up. They JACK the price to over $ 380 per room nite on the weekend we go — but the hotel is always sold out. One word of caution… the air conditioners in the room work extremely well — but they are LOUD. That’s not a plane taking off next door, it’s your A/​C.

TL;DR — Excellent price for above-​average accommodations.
We booked this location for a two-​night stay in Portland (up from Boston) because it was reasonably-​priced, offered a pool and free breakfast, and had decent reviews. It lived up to all that and more.
PRO:
* Good price, even on Memorial Day weekend
* Free breakfast surpassed expectations: omelette bar, fruit, hot food, many choices. We loved Andrew, the omelette chef, who was just chatty enough and quite friendly.
* Free afternoon «happy hour» reception with food and free drinks. I’ll say it again: FREE DRINKS.
* Two rooms, which made it much easier to stretch out and relax.
* About 15 minutes from Old Port
* Nice pool and hot tub
* Very friendly staff
CON:
* As Mark E mentioned, the pillows were terrible.
* Next to the airport — although we only heard planes once or twice
* Really slow elevators… but for only 6 floors, it’s not a huge deal
OVERALL:
* Highly recommended, and if our travels take us back to Portland, we will likely stay here again.

We took our first ‘family’ vacation last week, and started small, with just one night in Portland. This hotel was the perfect choice, to be honest. With two small kids, one of whom still sleeps with us, the suite set-​up was ideal. We had a king size bed to share with the little one, while the older one had ‘her own’ room. We took advantage of the hotel amenities, and had a lovely afternoon in the pool. Unfortunately the sauna was not working, so that was a bummer for me, as I have so few opportunities to ever *get* into a sauna.
The night went surprisingly well, other than the fact that I woke up with a super sore neck from the horrible, lumpy, über-​uncomfortable pillows (and there were many, and I tried them all — not a single one of them was comfortable). My neck still hurts 4 days later. Therefore next time, I would bring my own pillow. I would recommend that you do the same.
Breakfast was lovely, really, and a real bonus to staying there. No lame-​o continental breakfast here. I got my very own omelette, complete with jalapeños! The welcome reception seemed like a nice touch too, though we were unable to attend due to the timing.
Everyone was kind and attentive, and overall this was a pleasant place to spend a night.

Stayed over Thanksgiving ¹¹⁄₂₇ — ¹²⁄₁. Excellent stay. The breakfast /​omelette chef Andrew was exceptional. We would stay here again just to have him make us omelettes!
Only two issues: 1) the pillows were awful — either too flat or totally overstuffed. These need to be updated as they really impacted our sleep. And 2) the fan on the heater in our room was very loud.
