Flare and Bare

I never thought I’d meet such a body positive, friendly aesthetician!
I went in for a Brazilian today and Cassandra was wonderful. She was very professional. She took a few minutes at the beginning to clarify what exactly I wanted and also spent a few minutes reviewing waxing aftercare with me.
Cassandra’s room was very hygienic – she prepped the spa bed in front of me, didn’t double dip the wax, and wore rubber gloves.
She was also very friendly – the conversation flowed naturally, it was more like chilling with a friend than getting my privates waxed.
I will make sure I get waxed by Cassandra whenever I’m in Portland!

Absolutely amazing! This was my first time getting waxed and it was so easy and bareable. Cassandra was so sweet and funny and very gentle and sanitary. She made me feel comfortable and more like a friend than a client. I’m so happy I decided to go to Cassandra, and I will definitely be going back!

As good as getting the hairs from your inners yanked can possibly get. Cassandra is the best for two reasons (and more) being that she’s like hanging out with your bestie, and also uses this magical blue wax that is playable and gentle. With that being said, please don’t steal all of the appointment slots!!!

Cassandra is the friendliest, most hilarious person you will ever meet. She is busy for a reason so don’t expect to be able to get an appointment on the fly. One you get your first wax you will have no problem booking your next appointment for 4 – 5 weeks from the day. If you are proactive you will be rewarded with cheap and friendly Brazilians!

I had a great experience with Cassandra!
Her small space is located in G Best color salon. So I walk in, ask for Cassandra and a lady led me to the stairs through the salon in the back. Kind of awkward.
But Cassandra was nice, asked if I purchased a Unilocal deal. I did (which is awesome –$ 25 for $ 45) I got my eyebrows waxed and a Brazilian wax. Silly me, I booked both services on 2 different days and fortunately she was able to accommodate me on the same day so i didn’t have to come back. The process was easy and fast. She uses hard wax that is great for sensitive skin. So far I haven’t seen any irritation like i did last time at a different salon. I’d recommend her services! Brazilian was $ 25 with Unilocal deal and without it’s $ 45 and eyebrows were $ 15.

Cassandra is beyond wonderful! I’ve been going to here since February and I love it! Very comfortable, easy and quick, considering this was my first time. She’s so kind and her customer service is excellent! Always making sure that I’m booked for my next appointment and sending reminders too!(which is awesome because I always forget) and to make sure that I’m a-​okay! She uses the best wax that’s available, which is great because I have very sensitive skin. She’s super friendly and kind, the 30 minutes goes by quick because she’s always keeping the conversation going so you don’t really feel the pain lol

First of all it bums me out to see her get a one star from some Unilocaler who does not schedule in advance. There is only one Cassandra and tons clients. Out of courtesy, schedule a couple weeks in advance. I have my appointments booked out months ahead. We know that every 6 – 8 weeks we are going to need it, so why not plan it? She is worth planning ahead! I have been waxing now for 8 years and she is by far the most painless and comfortable experience I have had so far. She is a sweet and professional woman. She gets you in and out in a timely manner. Only good things to say.

Cassandra is absolutely great! Try to go in more often for a wax but am in and out of town a lot and her schedule is booked up like crazy these days — which is a great sign! Always pleased with her work.

I just freakin love this woman and her magical wax wand. I saw that someone in a previous review mentioned how important it is to have a waxer who is warm and funny — I couldn’t agree more! I had literally been flying back to California every 4 – 5 weeks to get waxed for the first year and a half that I lived in Portland because I loved my aesthetician there so much and I was worried about trying new places in town and having a bad experience. Finally I took a chance on Groupon and I am SO GLAD I did! Is it weird to say I look forward to having all my body hair ripped out? Because I always leave this place feeling so pleased with myself for finding it!
One thing to know is that Cassandra is super popular (obviously — how could she not be?) so be smart and book ahead. Don’t wait until the last minute! You’ll be sad! If you can’t get an appointment right away, just book the first available opening.. .and then just go ahead and book your appointments for the next 6 months while you’re at it because you WILL want to go back.

Groupon and a friend’s recommendation to try Cassandra out was what got me to pop my Brazilian cherry. I was more nervous than getting a tattoo and I have a few of those. But Cassandra was awesome! She made me feel so comfortable and gave great pointers on what to do for after care. I definitely recommend giving her a try. Scheduling is easy through her website and she books up fast. But she is well worth the wait. Happy waxing hairy b*tches. :)

Cassandra does the best wax this side of the Mississippi. Probably the other side, too. I have gone to several places trying to find ‘the one’ and she is definitely it. Hands of a God, I tell you. She’s quick, she does an amazing job and the pain really isn’t too bad. Never have I felt awkward or uncomfortable being waxed here. She’s great. I want everyone I know to come. She really is amazing at her job.

I hate reviewing a place when I have not even used their services. However, that’s the point here. I have tried so hard to make an appointment here. I bought a groupon in April and was very disappointed to discover there were no appointments for a month on the online scheduling system. I emailed Cassandra (asking if she could fit me in as I was looking to get waxed before a trip) but I received no response. My groupon expired and I still could not get an appointment without booking three weeks in advance (my work does not allow me that kind of flexibility).
I am now just trying to use up the remaining value on my expired groupon. I checked her scheduled today June 1– and there is nothing available for the entire month.
I am happy that Cassandra is so successful and I’m sure she is great. However, it does potential customers a disservice to offers groupons and Unilocal deals when you have zero availability.

Go see Cassandra. She’s the best.
She’s great at what she does. She has attention to detail and makes sure she knows just the look you’re going for. She’s quick. She uses a great hard wax. Services are super affordable.
And really, the main thing that matters in selecting a waxer is that they make you feel comfortable, and she really does. She is so sweet and personable, chats with you to keep you distracted, and can somehow put you at ease and make you laugh even while you are getting your pubes ripped out.
You will be happy you went to see her.

I started going to Cassandra almost a year ago on a Groupon deal. She is one of the warmest, funniest people I’ve ever met. You may not think that’s important in a waxer, but try getting a Brazilian from a cold fish Debbie downer and you’ll change your tune pretty quickly. It’s vital to have the right personality in her business to make sure people are at ease — and she has got it down to a «T».
Cassandra is also super professional. I never feel like she is rushing me through to fit in more clients. While she is quick at what she does, she is thorough!
Her prices can’t be beat and even though she is a one woman show, she has a great on-​line booking system which makes things so much easier.
Cassandra is great and I’m scared to publish this review for fear that too many new clients will find her and fill up all her bookings! But, she’s amazing and deserves kudos.

Cassandra is absolutely wonderful. I bought a groupon deal for 3 brazilian waxes. I was a bit wary trying out such a –ahem– delicate– service from a complete stranger on groupon. However, I am glad I decided to go for it. The deal was certainly worth it. Even her regular prices are a good value.
Her place may be a little hard to find because the building is shared with a hair salon. Her space is located upstairs, but there is a lobby in the hair salon where you can wait. On my first visit I made the mistake of going upstairs first to wait. I advise that you stay downstairs in the lobby and wait as Cassandra will meet you in the lobby of the hair salon by the door.
Cassandra is really quick which is so important with the usually unpleasant task of waxing. In addition, she’s very personable and makes the experience fly by even quicker. Most importantly, she’s very thorough and knows what she’s doing. I’ve been to a few different waxers before, but none of them have made my experience as good as the service I receive at Flare and Bare.
I had to reschedule my latest appointment 2 times, which I felt really bad about. But, she was so flexible and accomodating, which I so appreciate. She changed my appointment for me both times. For the second reschedule, she even let schedule a special «by appointment only» service for Saturday because I couldn’t schedule during the week. Cassandra is awesome and I can’t recommend her enough.

Cassandra was fantastic — friendly, funny, professional, and makes you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. Great rates, wonderful space, personable service, and a great waxing! I’ll be back.

Got my 1^st Brazilian wax from Casondra. She has awesome prices!!! Clean salon. She’s very friendly and made me feel very comfortable! It was of course painful but she was quick! :) I will def come back!

Cassandra is great — warm, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Plus she offers her services at an affordable rate! After getting mixed results from the local sugaring place (I get Brazilians) I gave Flare and Bare a try. Cassandra put me at ease and was quick, and no ingrowns! I’ll definitely be back.

Holy bananas I’m beyond thrilled I found this woman! Cassandra warmly greeted me at the door (the building wasn’t well labeled… look for the yellowish-​greenish house just east of the small parking lot and directly across the street from Burger King) and instantly made me feel at ease. Her studio is clean, bright and comfortable. She uses only hard wax, much to my relief! We had comfortable and hilarious banter throughout my appointment. She’s easy to talk to, quick with her work and thorough as can be. I absolutely positively recommend Cassandra! I’ll be making regular appointments from here on out… and I’ll be convincing everyone I know to use her. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

I went to Cassandra when I couldn’t get in to my regular place. She was friendly and fun and did an excellent job!
I’ve been working on repairing my brows for quite sometime and she did a perfect job.
I just made my second appointment and highly recommend her.
