Fleur de Lys

I hadn’t made a Unilocal account and made it only for FdL (Hadn’t had time to write something) but this place is GREAT! I moved to PDX back in Aug and had had no luck finding a decent spot where I loved both the place and the people. When I saw the Unilocal pictures I just knew I had to visit!
The girls were SO nice! The other places I’ve gone for nails before they’re usually pretty dismissive, I can be quiet and I like quiet but hey! a little head nod or small talk ain’t hurt no one. For some reason, I’ve felt ‘awkward’ at other salons when the girls are making my nails, like oh it’s silent should i say something kind. But they’re SO chill that you can just sit and relax.
Before I came home I even went back with Laura (even though my nails were perf. fine from the time before…) because I kinda needed the chill time before I left PDX. Laura is as good as it gets! She’s sooo nice, super chill. She even mixed up some colors to ‘create’ the shade I really really wanted. Most people would’ve just be like eh-​sorry. Can’t wait to return to PDX and visit again!
TL;DR– this is the best place to go! Girls are extremely nice and welcoming. Super chill environment. (And a good cup of coffee to go with)

I love this place. Low key, small, appointments are scheduled online. Quality products, natural philosophy (you will never see acrylic anything here), and totally attentive services, without being fussy or precious. Parking is the only challenge, as this neighborhood grows.

Beautiful, clean, peaceful, punctual service! The best pedicure experience I have had in Portland by far. I love their copper foot baths (it just seems cleaner than a jacuzzi), great staff, location, and décor. I was offered coffee which was a very good single serve espresso. Best of all my pedicurist was sweet and friendly and did a thorough job including long massage. I will be back!

This is a great place to hold a private girl party or intimate gathering, but be forewarned, prices for pedis average $ 50 and a regular manicure $ 26. It is clean, small and quaintly decorated in minimalism. They do a meticulous job. I do recommend they get a water cooler as I was filling my cup at the same sink they clean at …

I’ve been searching for a good spot to get good manicures and pedicures so I decided to check this little spot out. The service I did was a gel shellac manicure just to try.
When it comes to nails I’m quite picky because I used to do them as a job so I have high expectations… here are my thoughts…
AMBIANCE
Décor and space is cute and clean. Very mellow and limited space. Didn’t feel like your normal cut and dry Nail Salon. I liked their space and felt relaxed.
TOOLS
Sanitation of tools were great. A new filer and buffer was used for me. Cuticle nippers, nail clippers and cuticle pusher looked pretty clean as well.
MANICURE
The nail tech started off with cleaning, cutting and shaping my nails similar to any other place, nothing special. Filing job was good. My nails weren’t crooked or slanted. Cuticle cutting job wasn’t so great. First off, the pull and cut motion got me nervous because you should never cut cuticles like that because it can potentially hurt customers and maybe even pull too much cuticle to the point of cutting the skin. And when my cuticles are cut like that they usually grow back looking shaggy. So I probably won’t go back because of that.
POLISHING JOB
I survived the manicure part so onto the polishing job. This part I’m even more particular. Just by looking at how the gal handled the polish was already a sign that this polishing job is going to be a long one. I had chosen a nude color to be specific. And it also was a pretty popular nude, which I figured because it was running low where she was shaking it constantly as she was polishing. Not sure why she did not hold the bottle in her hand and tilt it while polishing as most pros do? But anyhow, the polishing job wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t amazing either – the sides weren’t polished in very well.
HAND MASSAGE
I was expecting a good hand massage since the cost was a bit higher than many other salons. But it was disappointing. It was basically a quick 30 second rub up and down then done.
I kind of left feeling eh about this salon that’s why I gave this place a 3 star. Back to doing my own manicures.

Pretty Little Nails! I wanted something nicer than the ‘chop shop’ of nails that seem to be the go to for a mani/​pedi. I googled best nails in portland and found this lovely intimate spot tucked in Portland’s eastside industrial district. Kim and Trudie were amazing! My girlfriend and I went for mani/​pedis where we were greeted buy two wonderfully cheerful women. We were then offered a choice of ‘fancy’ or non-​fancy drinks. (bonus). The atmosphere was spa like yet a touch of industrial flair! Will definitely recommend this place AND go back. Thank you Kim and Trudie for making it so special.

Made an appointment online (which is something I LOVE being able to do) for a mani/​pedi with Trudi for July 18^th.
Drove myself from Hillsboro to the trendy east side industrial district to find this adorable little shop. It was nothing like I had expected… a lot smaller but it was oh so cute. I was greeted with a friendly smile and promptly seated.
At this point, I was still in my brace and my cast had only been off for a few days. Trudi made sure I was comfortable and took it super easy on that busted left leg.
We chatted the whole time… and it was just a great experience. Sometimes I wonder if I am too loud and filter lacking for places like this, but oh well… I loved it and I will totally be back.
Is it more expensive than if I had stayed out in Hillsboro and just gotten my nails done at any old salon? Yes… but the entire experience is just different and I think worth it.

Beautiful salon, beautiful pedicures. A little pricey but worth it. Will definitely be back.

This was a wonderful place to escape the summer heat and relax after walking around Portland. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the nail tech was friendly and did a wonderful job. I didn’t feel rushed even though they were making time in their schedule for me and my sis in law. The prices are a bit high but worth it. I’ll be returning when I want another pedicure in Portland.

My daughter and I came in for pedicures together. We left feeling so pampered. I live in So Cal but I’ll be sure to book appointments for next time I’m in Portland. Bravo!

This is not a typical in-​and-​out generic nail salon. Instead, expect an exceptional experience in a quaint boutique in the SE Waterfront area. Kim, the owner, has a great personality, and awesome staff. Highly recommend!

Such an adorable little salon! I thoroughly enjoyed my pedicure and foot massage with Trudi, and my feet and nails look so much better than when I came in. A tip: go on a weekend, and you can park in the reserved spaces. I drove around forever while looking for a spot until I called and found out I could park right there.

Lovely spot, so happy we found it. My sister and I had pedicures with Kim and Trudi who are both sweet and easy to talk to. The space is a breath of fresh air, especially compared to your average run-​of-​the-​mill nail salon. You don’t feel shuffled in and out, and you are treated like a human. We left feeling relaxed! I loved the massage, too. Parking is a little tight in the area, but we found a 1-​hour spot about a block away. Can’t wait until I have another excuse to treat myself at Fleur de Lys!

I love Fleur De Lys, Kim hands down is the best. She’s the only one I trust with my brows, and she delivers an amazing pedicure. I’ve referred her to many of friends and I’ve only heard great things back. The ambience, the chairs, the décor, those beautiful copper bowls, and cocktails, are just an added bonus to the already amazing service. I don’t treat myself often enough, but when I do I come here every time.

Fleur de Lys is a great spot for pedicures. Kim Paulson gives a great pedicure in a comfortable environment with nice, big chairs, cool artwork, and fun conversation. It’s great to get a pedicure and then go to ClarkLewis for happy hour.

My wife loves this place – she swears by Kim – and I must say, guys, they make you feel comfortable as well. Fleur de Lys is about atmosphere, ambiance, aesthetics and above all, it’s about cleanliness. The décor is fantastic and being down in the industrial district gives it a unique charm.
Another amazing plus with the location is it’s in the same building as Clark Lewis, arguably one of the best restaurants in Portland with the added bonus of Clark Lewis willing to make «personal deliveries» to you while you’re at Fleur de Lys.
This is a boutique style establishment and not your run of the mill nail salon. If you’re looking for the strip-​mall, line ‘em up, type place, go elsewhere, but if you’re looking for a clean, classy, friendly place that has a great vibe, Fleur de Lys is it.

I was looking for a place that would not only get me a great pedi, but would also be a calm, pretty and (on this 90 degree day), a cool environment. I found it!
The space is gorgeous — beautifully decorated, bright and lovely. I don’t think the pictures here do it justice at all.
Trudi gave me one of the best pedicures I’ve ever had; I was so relaxed when I left and, bonus: pretty toes!
It’s kind of spendy for a pedicure but since this is a treat for me and I am willing to pay extra not to have to breathe fumes from acrylic nails, or be subjected to blaring TVs or poorly chosen fluorescent lighting, I think it’s well worth the price.
It’s a little difficult to find the first time. Word to the wise: though you can see the salon from Water St, the entrance is at the back of the building, off Taylor and they have two parking spaces in the lot across Taylor from the one at the back.

One of the best pedicures I’ve had in Portland and sadly I’ve only been once. I must must must go again but I don’t do the whole make-​an-​appointment thing very well and this place had a jam-​packed schedule!
I had Renee and loved her. She was so easy to talk to and really made my experience incredibly enjoyable. She took her time, gave a fabulous massage and my nails lasted for at least a month if not 6 weeks. Can’t wait to go back!
I also got a brow/​upper lip wax here… wasn’t extraordinary but it suited my needs.
Quality customer service and exceptional work makes this place a sure 5-​star.
