History

Established in 2009.

Floral Sunshine provides radiant flowers for all occasions. Our floral design studio is located in NW Portland but we grace homes, businesses and events all over the Portland metro area with our unique floral arrangements. Floral Sunshine doesn’t operate like a typical retail flower shop. We keep our overhead low by not stocking a lot of perishable goods, saving a lot on waste. For special events and specific daily orders, we source our favorite suppliers and growers for the freshest flowers, ordered specifically for each occasion at affordable prices.

I didn’t plan well and needed a last minute flower delivery after a holiday weekend. I had an unusual request (to make the arrangement cat themed) and even though it was a same day order and fulfillment — Annie made it happen!

Annie and the Floral Sunshine team did a phenomenal job of creating the most beautiful standing spray for the funeral of my best friend and cousin. I was calling from out-​of-​state, so relied on Unilocal reviews and the Floral Sunshine website to make my decision to contact this establishment. Fighting through tears and emotion, I shared with Annie my need for an elegant memorial arrangement. She immediately put me at ease and calmly talked me through my options. When I told Annie cost was the least important factor, she gently let me know it would not be necessary to spend a great deal to create the spray I desired. Most importantly, she assured me they would come through and the spray would be delivered on time (less than 24 hours). Not only was the spray delivered ahead of schedule, it was unequivocally the most beautiful arrangement at the funeral! As much as we all loved the spray, it was the impeccable customer service in a time of crisis that I appreciated most and will treasure forever.

Annie is an amazing florist. I was planning my wedding from 1000 miles away and could only speak with her on the phone. We sent pics back and forth thru Pinterest, and wasn’t sure if she was really going to get what I was trying to articulate, but this woman nailed it! My flowers were absolutely gorgeous! All the ladies were begging to take the flowers home at the end of the night. I’ve only been married a week, and I’ve already been asked by 2 people if I could throw them the name of my florist, as they have daughters weddings coming up. When my wife and I were planning our wedding, which would take place in Portland, we were living at the time in Los Angeles. We did not make one trip to Portland until the day before our wedding. Annie at Floral Sunshine was responsive to both our email and phone communication and helped us turn our ideas of colors and flowers into floral arrangements that were beautiful. She emailed us photos of flower, bouquet, and arrangement samples that helped us get a picture of what the flowers would look like on the day of our wedding.
We must admit that we were anxious when the day of our wedding arrived. Our only communication with Annie to this point had been through email and only one or two phone calls. Our first glimpse of Annie’s work was on the morning of our wedding when we observed the arrangements in the church and received the boutonnieres and bouquets. These had all been delivered to the church before we arrived, so we still had not met Annie in person. Her work was better than we imagined and we continued to be impressed by her work when we arrived at the reception after the wedding to see the centerpieces she had arranged at the guest tables. They were beautiful!
All in all, we would recommend Annie and Floral Sunshine to everyone and anyone. We never met Annie, but we feel confident that she would be as kind and accommodating in person as she was through our email and phone communication.

Amazing, I came about a week before my prom to have a corsage and boutonnière made for my date and I. She was really helpful with flower choices and went above and beyond expectations. When i was talking to her about the corsage, etc, she gave us a general idea of what it was going to look like, but when I received it, I was amazed at the craftsman ship. Really overall a great place, a bit weird to find the building, and the price is very fair! 10⁄10!

As I planned my 1 year anniversary and first trip to Portland; I had to order flowers to be delivered to the location where we’d be staying. Well, I placed an order for Ranunculus with a pretty well known floral site, but they were unable to fulfill my request of providing only red ranunculus. I had to cancel that order because it was not what I wanted for this special day.
So, I Unilocaled local florist in the area of Portland that we’d be staying and found Annie at Floral Sunshine. She took my call while on the go, pulled her car over to speak to me safely and took my order. I specified I’d like all red ranunculus for this arrangement and she said «no problem.» I also asked for some to be in bloom and some not. Again, she said «no problem.» I asked for a specific delivery date and we were all set.
Then the day of; I could not be more happy with the services provided. The delivery arrived at 10:45am and my love was extremely surprised as well as impressed with the arrangement.
I’d order with Annie again anytime I’m in Portland. The quality of the ranunculus were beyond expectation and nice to know they were local.

Annie Chen is not just a florist — she’s a floral designer. I gave her really vague ideas (we want a podium arrangement with pinks, and maybe some greens) and from that she created an amazing podium flower arrangements for the Women of Achievement Celebration event May 2 — and what a truly stunning arrangement she put together. Compliments came from around the room, including Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum and Governor Kate Brown. The only suggestion was that you put your name on your business cards! :-) I know who my go-​to Portland floral designer will be from now on! Again, thank you Annie!

Annie and her team at Floral Sunshine created absolutely stunning bouquets for my wedding this past weekend. The main flowers were white hydrangeas and stargazer lilies. The arrangements were lively, full, and put the perfect elegant touches on our ceremony and reception. The ceremony had two large bouquets on either side of our paster and a welcome bouquet. And the reception was adorned with centerpieces for each table — with each vase wrapped in ribbon to match the bridal colors. The gift table and the guest book table each had their own bouquets. And all 7 of my bridesmaids had STUNNING purple and pink flowers, roughly 9 inches across. My bouquet was absolutely breathtaking… at least a foot across, and a perfect blend of our wedding flowers with complementing roses. I cannot say enough for the amazing work Annie and her team did.
I would absolutely recommend her for all of your floral needs! (she has also done birthday arrangements for me as well)

We were having a wedding in July 2014, and we met with Annie a month and a half or so beforehand. We went over what we would prefer in terms of flower aesthetic (we were doing a more sparse but elegant feel), but she seemed to prefer bricks of flowers, which was the polar opposite of what we wanted, saying that our ideas wouldn’t «read.» Everything she was suggesting was over the top; she simply didn’t understand what we were trying to accomplish.
Eventually we talked her down to something we thought we could live with, and she drew up several ideas as of how to accomplish that, and said that she would come back to us with price quotes on the different ideas and we could choose what we wanted at that point. At this point we were cautiously optimistic, thinking that maybe we just needed to arrive at a point where we could agree on a vision. She said she would get back to us within the week.
We never heard from her again. We eventually decided that trying to contact her as to the state of our wedding floral arrangements wasn’t worth our time, due to her inability to deliver on what we had wanted from the beginning. We instead went to Sammy’s in the Pearl.
In the end, we had the wedding we wanted: small, elegant arrangements, exactly how we had planned. People loved them. They «read» just fine.
I cannot recommend this business. The glowing reviews from everyone else baffle me.

I used Floral Sunshine for my wedding. WOW! Annie over delivered and exceeded my expectations. Our wedding photographer was blown away with her work and they see a lot of wedding flowers!
I told Annie what I liked and gave her «artistic license» to create what would look beautiful. She came back with bridal bouquet, wedding party flowers and table centerpieces that were stunning. Magazine worthy.
Delivery was prompt and on time, which is soooooo important on your wedding day!
