I’m going to be brief here because I’m a man on the go and as a man on the move, the FoodZilla is my kind of place. I’m in Portland and it’s blazing hot — over 90 — and I’ve got some urgent needs. I need: a twelve pack of Negra Modelo, a plain blue bandana to line my Panama hat, a beer coozy, and no bullshit. I’m in between two stores; two blocks from Walgreen’s and two blocks from the FoodZilla, it’s hot and I’m at a crossroads. Make the wrong choice and I’m walking extra blocks — in the heat. I look south, then north, then make my decision: FoodZilla. I walk the two blocks and am rewarded with everything I need, in abundance. I even am given the choice between a beer coozy that reads«I Got A Used Car For My Ex-Wife… I Think It Was A Good Trade» and one that reads«Chaos, Panic, Disorder… My Work Is Done Here.» Within minutes, I’m back on the street, loaded with bounty, heading into a mystical Portland afternoon. FoodZilla? Yes! Post Scriptum: it was later confirmed by independent sources that the Walgreen’s had none of what I needed that day. Oh, and which coozy did I choose? I’ll never tell.

I live a couple blocks away, so «the Villa» is where I go for my soda and beer runs. The people who run the store have always been friendly. I rarely venture past the candy and soda/beer sections, but the rest of the store has some weird, 1980s random stuff. Need a ‘do rag or pipe? They’ve got you covered. Thank you, Foodvilla, for being my go-to«oh crap, we forgot ice» store

Do ya ever head north on 33rd to Columbia to get to the airport? This is the last place to get your snackies for the plane. Affectionately known as «Foodzilla» to the locals, this grocery/convenience store also has a superb beer selection… check it out!
