We went on Unilocal and found this place– thank god! The service was excellent(unfortunately, I wasn’t able to grab my server’s name) and the food was well cooked. Everything on the menu was honestly delicious– the famous omelette, the french toast, and the blueberry pancakes. Definitely going back if I ever visit Portland again!

The atmosphere is a throw back to a slower time. The food is simple, but quite good. The service I received was exceptional. My waitress, Summer, was sweet, friendly and exceptionally attentive. My coffee cup was never empty.

The food was good, but the seating arrangement and tipping policies I was not a fan of. The seating arrangement — It’s merely personal preference, but I like to sit across from the person I’m with rather than side by side, and I don’t like being in such tight quarters with strangers that people can hear everything I say. The tipping policy — The real reason for my negative review of Fuller’s Coffee Shop is the fact that this establishment does not allow you to tip using a credit or debit card! Seriously? The reality is not many people carry cash these days, and no I was not about to to stiff my server whose service was excellent, so I had to pull cash out of their ATM and pay an ATM fee just to tip someone. This was an irritating experience, and one that will prevent me from going back to Fuller’s Coffee Shop. Sure, I could just bring cash next time, but it’s the premise that this business has made it more difficult for their customers to tip their staff that I don’t agree with.

We found this place while looking for VooDoo donuts. Great food, old diner style. The home made bread is awesome. Great thick sliced and meaty bacon. Scrambled eggs an hash browns were cooked just right. Light, fluffy pancakes. You don’t want to miss this place.

Fuller’s is Portland’s traditional downtown breakfast joint. And it’s the friendliest food in town. At the counter(there are no booths) you’ll find geeks, geezers, blue collar and creatives, side by side, chatting and chowing down. The bread is home-made, the omelettes and pancakes are always hot. Nothing is over-priced. And everybody’s friendly. You can’t leave in a bad mood.

It was my turn to Unilocal something up, since my GF always does. I must say, It has been on of my top picks from Unilocal. The old vintage décor goes great with this place. Service is good, and the food, well based on all the plates i have seen on the counter tops, they look great

One of the best dang breakfast I ever had. Great food, excellent service, at a simple mom and pop place. Keeping it simple and doing a great job at that.

The quintessential blue collar/no frills style breakfast café where you sit communal around a U-shaped table with and facing other diners. The eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, toast, hot cakes, etc is simple but satisfying and the price is cheap. Great breakfast dive! Only caveat is their coffee wasn’t very good.

Excellent«full» omelette. It definitely wasn’t one of the measly thin nonsustainable omelette you get from some places. The coffee shop is old school diner like with tables wrapping around. Love it love it.

Fulller’s serves ample portions in a traditional diner setting — very old school and cash only! The service is wonderful and the atmosphere is relaxed, making this a great alternative to the stand-in-line-all-day-for-brunch attitude Portland normally has. The menu isn’t very fussy — burgers, pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, tater salad — and the servers are quick to take your order and bring it out. But what also amazes me is how accommodating this place can be. This Sunday, we took a visiting friend from out of town to Fuller’s. We were a group of three and sat somewhere in the middle of one of the counters. The owner got a phone call a few minutes into our sitting down with a customer asking for space for 11 people for brunch. The owner was very friendly and patient with them over the phone and I was pleased to see how kind and casual he was. It’s very different than the cut throat attitude on waiting in line for brunch in the area. He asked us nicely if we’d scoot over a few seats so the big group could come in and we agreed. The group came and we marveled as the staff not only took 11 orders out at once but managed to dish them all out in a timely matter. Amazing! It was like something out of a reality tv show. Fuller’s is ultimately a place that does a damn good job at covering basic breakfast/brunch/Americana diner food. They’re a great place to share a cup of coffee, read a paper, or go on a date. And apparently, a great last minute brunch spot for a group. I’ll keep that in mind next time I’m with a crowd.

What a great breakfast/coffee shop. I love the old school counter feel and just the good wholesome food. I had a veggie omelette, with hash browns and toast. Great service, and great people.

Closed on Mondays. Despite the hours posted on Unilocal and their official store placard, Fuller’s was closed when we visited. No website or social thus no way of knowing until we made the trek there. Just a good ol’ fashioned hand-written poster advertising«Closed on Mondays». For a diner serving basic fuel(eggs, bacon, toast, etc.) how can you be non-functional on a weekday in an urban area?

Blueberry pancake special today. This has been my ‘go-to’ breakfast place in Portland for over the past 40+ years. Little has changed over the years; just love the counter seating with folks reading a real old fashioned newspaper and not into the texting craziness that has overwhelmed society. Killer pancake, perfect egg, and huge strips of crispy bacon. Yumm, such comfort food! Only a couple blocks from our future retirement loft in the Pearl. So significant; they should make this a historic property so no one can be at a loss in the future. Previous visits have included the killer South Western omelet with really crispy hash browns and homemade bread/toast. Eggs cooked to order have always been perfection. A landmark that is so nice.

If you visit portland and are only going to have one(non-fancy) meal, go to fullers! This old school coffee shop served me up one of the best burgers I ever had — for only $ 4 bucks! Take note: unless you’re sitting outside, it’s dining counters only so leave the kids at home if they can’t sit still for more than 30 minutes.

This place is rad! I have forgotten what a lunch counter is like! Brought me back to childhood days at the lunch counter back in the old home town of long ago… Quick efficient and nice service. French toast was the best I’ve had! Just simple, great egg batter, bread was awesome! Ordered egg whites on the side, a good size portion for 2 eggs! And they didn’t even charge use extra to have egg whites, hooray! My better half even had an egg white omelette. And no they are not cash only! They take cards. Loved the coffee and they kept it coming! We will definitely be back! Probably not a place for kids(little little) nor a big group, but we didn’t have to wait for 2 of us at 11am on a weekend. Pretty awesome!

The short side of it is, it’s a cheap, hole-in-the-wall. A good sized breakfast is around $ 12. You can find something for $ 5 too. Coffee tastes exactly like you would expect an ashtray to taste like. Seats are all counter/bar based, and are extremely close to each other. Food is served quick. Nothing fancy, but it’s made from scratch. Their toast made from homemade bread with raspberry jam was tasty. Not a bad spot, but not a great one either. Don’t bring your date here or have a meeting either. This place is just for a quick meal. There were two choice I was struggling between: corned-hash with eggs or their special hash brown dish. Should’ve went with the special. Corned-hash just had pieces of pastrami cut into it. Overall, I had an okay experience, probably won’t be coming back though.
