Really helpful staff, affordable labor rates, and they had a dog. I brought in 2 keyless entry remotes for my Subaru and they had both units fixed in only a few minuets. They were even able to fix the botched soldering job that I did when I was trying to fix it myself. I would highly recommend these guys for any small electronics repairs.

Cancerous company! They replace your screen with some cheap made in China material, which breaks as soon as it drops a couple inches off the floor! Moreover, on the receipt it says that it does not cover «Mishandling»? Like accidentally dropping your phone is mishandling! EVERYONE drops their phone! Moreover, the positive ratings on this Cancerous Company are, more than likely, all fake! Probably from the employees themselves.

I don’t write a lot of reviews but I had to take the time to do this for Gadget Fix. These folks understand the importance of customer service. Twice they fixed my broken iphone when I was rushed and panicked — for no charge. The last visit was my latest iphone dying on me. They took it apart, replaced a load of parts, brought it back from the dead and barely charged me anything. The next phone I buy will be from them, NOT Apple or ATT. They are meticulous, knowledgeable, very reasonably priced and the warranty on used phones is better than anyones. They are highly recommend by me for repairs.

Wow. Well I had good service, but the fact remains that while I did sign a waiver relieving the store of responsibility for other parts they were not paid to work on, I still can’t help but place blame on the technician who worked on my phone for the newest problem. I went in to have my charging port replaced and now my headphone jack suddenly doesn’t work. The charging port and the headphone jack are adjacent to one another. Now I am stuck with a phone that I cannot play music through at work or while studying. Really disappointed…

Good communication and good work in a timely fashion and at a good price. Can’t really ask for more!
The power button on my smartphone was physically damaged and needed a replacement to be carefully soldered onto the motherboard. (I had diagnosed the problem myself with the help of the interwebs). I asked a few local shops for quotes. Gadget Fix replied quickly and confirmed that they had the right parts, told me how much it would cost, and gave me an estimate of how long it would take.
When I brought it in, they asked me all the right questions to verify that I had diagnosed the problem correctly, and repaired it more quickly than expected and for slightly less than they had originally quoted me.
I’ll definitely recommend them to friends.

I was interested in buying a refurbished phone and… success! The Gadget Fix shop had several good options for me. I compared prices with what I could find for refurbished phones on Amazon and some prices were higher, some lower, but I felt I got a fair deal on the one I bought from Gadget Fix.
The employees were knowledgable, pleasant and helpful. On my first visit I accidentally showed up 5 minutes before closing and had an employee show me phones that he had already put away, but he didn’t show any sign of irritation about it.
The location is in the same block as stores for Verizon, T-​Mobile, and Sprint, so it was super easy to go activate my phone next door afterward. At one point a Gadget Fix employee and Verizon employee even talked with each other on my behalf to sort out a question I had about a feature of a phone. Pretty cool.
I’ve had the phone not even a full week yet, so I can’t report on that, but with their 6-​month warranty, I’m not too worried about surprise issues.

Emailed for an estimate for an iPad screen repair, no response. Then called the store during business hours, no answer, left a message. No response again. So, I took it to Wired iRepair instead.
First rated one star, then upped it after a Unilocal response from owner.

It was worth driving out of my way to come here. My PS3 decided to stop reading Blu-​ray discs recently and I decided I wasn’t ready to throw it away just yet. I’d done a little research on the issue so I knew what was wrong before I started calling around. I told them what was going on and they told me straight forward what was wrong and how much it would be to fix it. They’d told me it would be about a week turn around so imagine how happy I was when I got a call just three days later telling me it was ready to pick up. I brought it home, hooked it up, and it works perfectly again.

I am unbelievably grateful to Clyde at the Portland Gadget Fix for his ability to take my non-​responsive, blank-​screened I-​Phone 5 that had been run over by a car a week ago, and by changing the screen, was able to get it working again. Without his intervention I would have lost all my contacts since they were not being saved in the cloud as I had thought Verizon had set up my phone to do. I had already given up on the phone, and mourned the loss of my hundreds of business contacts, after Simply-​Mac technicians had tried everything to help me get the data from the broken phone to transfer to my computer with no luck since I had not set up my I-​tunes to back up the phone in the past and so my computer couldn’t recognize and data off the phone by simply connecting the two devices. Thank goodness, Dennis, at Simply-​Mac, suggested that the Gadget Fix technicians might be able to replace the touchscreen and that that might possibly be a fix for the phone. I still can’t believe I have my I-​phone back and working and have access to all my contacts. Needless to say, it is backed up in the I-​Cloud and on my computer now! I am so happy and relieved! Thank you, Clyde, for fixing the phone and for the advice for getting it backed up going forward. Your clear explanations and friendly service were much appreciated by a very stressed out Verizon customer.

After some time with my «fixed» phone, I must downgrade from 4 (intended 3.5) to 2 stars. I stand by earlier comments regarding the courteousness and professionalism of staff, cleanliness of establishment, etc. However, my Galaxy Note 4 was not repaired as directed and in part is nothing more than an expensive paperweight. I thought it highly unusual that Clyde and other staff were not at all familiar with KNOWN FACTORY ISSUES such as a camera that typically takes 2 or so minutes to focus. Clyde was explained the issue, given a new replacement and informed that I expected it to be installed. Instead, I paid for replacement of another part causing malfunction and told they had tinkered with camera and thought it to be working. Phone works great, camera still may may not focus (all the while slapping against knee, back of hand or other progressively harder service. I was also handed back $ 185 in parts with suggestion I could attempt to sell on ebay. Odds are that new camera would not malfunction as original. But after directing that it be replaced, it was not and I’m left with likely an additional $ 100 loss.
I am guessing staff opted to save themselves time by not repairing as directed. So much for the customer being right. Perhaps they would have replaced the camera if I had UNNECESSARYILY explained that I’m a trained and experienced photojournalist who expects any camera in my hands to function?

My niece broke her cell phone and needed a new phone so we looked online for a place to go here in the Portland area. Upon arriving we were greeted with a friendly hello and smile, while asking us what they could do for us. The sales lady was so nice explaining all the phones to us and helping my niece locate one that fit her needs. I bookmarked the page for future need. Sure enough my nephew cracked his phone beyond repair and needed a new phone. We took him in and sure enough the same smile and greeting waiting for us. The lady who helped us explained the phones and their options. I would defiantly recommend this store to any of my family, friends, or strangers on the street.

Got my phone 5s screen replaced — good as new — no problems 2 days after — so happy with the service and the staff.

Ran in briefly on Friday, after visiting AT&T store next door. They were awesome, great customer service and fixed my phone issue in no time.
Will definitely recommend and will be back!!!

First impressions, not so good…
Called yesterday to have a waterlogged Galaxy S3 revived, «Brian» told me that the walk-​in fee was $ 25, and there would be a $ 35 additional to open and perform maintenance on my soaked phone. And, that it wouldn’t take more than an hour or two.
That’s all good. But, in bringing the phone in today, I’m told $ 35 and $ 40 maintenance fee. And that the turnaround would be 1 — 2 days. That’s a bit frustrating but I need the info from my phone so I let them have it. I guess we’ll see how long it takes to get a call back…

A pleasant surprise — got a call this afternoon, phone had been brought back to life. No attempt at upsell, and a good explanation of what work had been done. Picked the phone up, it seems to be functioning slightly better that it had been in the past.
Kudos to Gadget Fix, my thanks. Still, gotta ding you the one star for incorrect pricing information.

The other night my phone just totally blacked out for no reason whatsoever. After a mild freakout panic, I went to bed & woke up in the morning on a mission to get my phone repaired. After going to a few other places, I was recommended to go to gadget fix. Best. Advice. Of. The. Day.
Clyde was super helpful, informative, & patient with me. He explained to me the step by step process with his plan to try to fix my phone & sent me update emails. Unfortunately, when it was determined that my phone would take longer to repair, he again explained to me my options (taking time & money into account). He even provided me with a loaner phone!
We decided on a plan together and followed through on his word with keeping me posted with all developments & updates throughout the week. And after giving me all my options, he still provided me time to think through my options without promising them any business at the end of it.
Plus, the prices are very competitive. But it is really the customer service that sold me to be a loyal patron of this place. And that was 100% Clyde’s doing.
I highly recommend this spot for phone, computer, and whatever else they repair. Ask for Clyde to help you and thank me later.

I went to them to fix a broken DC jack in my laptop and was told that it would be done by Monday. It wasn’t done until Tuesday (not a huge deal as apparently he misspoke since the receipt said Tuesday). When I called on Monday confused (before seeing the receipt date) they told me they had ordered and tried to install the wrong part so it might take a little longer. After talking with the incredibly kind person on the phone she was able to get it done on time. This was all ok. Then on top of that they gave me a discount due to the confusion.
At this point I was feeling really good about them, but later on that evening I realized that my computer was scratched all to hell. There were deep gouges all over the outside of the lid and the keyboard was covered in dirt.
While all of this was superficial, it tells me that they were not handling my computer very well as I have had it for 3 years and have never scratched it.
All of this being said: The computer was fixed and works. If it wasn’t for the obvious damage to the computer they would get 5 stars.

Fast service, I came with my iPhone and in 1 hour it’s all done …:…

Two strikes and they’re out. I wanted to like (and pay!) these folks, I really did.
But my first visit I was told:
No, they couldn’t help me retrieve files off my phone with a broken screen without replacing the screen – fair enough. That makes sense. I also needed help with a broken laptop keyboard. The price I was quoted was $ 95, which gave me pause since the laptop was old and probably only worth about $ 100 on its own. So I told them I wanted to think about it. Well, even though I quite clearly did not give the go-​ahead, they replaced the keyboard for me. They then had to take it out again, as I decided to just buy a new laptop instead. Feeling bad even though it wasn’t my fault, I tipped them a few bucks for their trouble.
So now my second visit happened today. All I wanted was help retrieving files off an old desktop that works, though I have no working monitor to use with it. Easy, peasy! Well, they «don’t usually work on desktops because of space.» Really? What sort of computer store already doesn’t work on desktops? I know most electronics are going portable but there are still plenty of desktops on the market and in people’s homes. I was flabbergasted, and the staff person seemed condescending and less than apologetic that they were unable to help me.
I won’t be giving them another shot. I’ll just crowd-​source help though friends on fb, though I really did want to support a small-​ish business.

These guys fixed my shattered iPhone 5S screen for $ 135, which sounds like A LOT. It is, but it’s also $ 40 less than the price I was quoted from the closest competitor with a decent Unilocal rating. Lower price alone doesn’t make for a 5 star review: they also straightened my phone’s (slightly) bent aluminum shell, cleaned interior corrosion and removed a small bright spot on the display that had been there since I took the phone out of the box.
They fixed my phone in a couple hours, explained everything they did and (bonus) even had a cute dog hanging out behind the counter.
While I hope I’ll never need to return, I certainly will should I break any other expensive gadgets (likely).
