Heart Spring Health is an award-​winning center for natural medicine in Portland that offers a full spectrum of specialty services, such as chiropractic care, acupuncture, herbal medicine, hydrotherapy, massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, naturopathic cancer treatment, holistic pelvic care, auto injury treatments and much more.

History

Established in 2009.

We started out as a single room clinic in a home near Tabor. Our patients loved the homey environment in which they were cared for. As we grew the need for an equally soothing but bigger space became important as well as more heart centered practitioners. While in the home environment we noticed that when providers were able to work together with patients and offer more insight into their conditions they improved faster and felt more fully supported. So we set out to create a collaborative environment with a variety of specialties. We found the perfect space in Southeast Buckman neighborhood at the Morrison building. There is a waterfall as you walk into our space and lots of lush green plants that create a supportive compliment to our services.

Heart Spring Health is run as a collaborative not for profit business that serves thousands of people a year to live the best life possible.

Dr. Serron Wilkie provides the full spectrum of care for a wide range of health concerns. With a focus in integrative oncology, digestive concerns, fertility, anxiety and depression; she helps her patients restore a sense of ease, harmony and joy in their lives by creating optimal health and sustainable wellness. Patients who have not been helped by other conventional or alternative treatments often seek out Serron for deep healing.

She earned her naturopathic medical degree from The National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM), the oldest school of Naturopathic medicine in North America. There she was honored with the Nature Cure Award for embodying the principles of naturopathic medicine.

In service to her community, Dr. Wilkie serves as a consultant for the Foundations of Naturopathic Medicine Project and co-​lead author of a chapter for the Foundations Textbook of Naturopathic Medicine. She was recognized in Portland Monthly as a Top Doctor for the Portland area in 2015.

Dr. Jason Wells is an amazing naturopathic doctor. He makes you feel comfortable and is incredibly knowledgeable. He is up on his research and his passion for what he does is clear. As a chiropractor I know a lot of NDs and he stands out as one of the best. Highly recommended!

I have really enjoyed going to Heart Springs Health over the past few months. I have been seeing Stephanie Swanson for my acupuncture needs. I also needed to get a physical for a new job and I got set up with a naturopath doctor, Jessica Stefanski, who was Fabulous as well. Everyone who works at the front desk are very friendly and warm when checking in and out.
Stephanie Swanson works wonders! I have been seeing her for 2 – 3 months for issues of headaches, digestion, lower back pain, achilles tendon issues, and recent ankle pain. She has helped me IMMENSELY with my headaches, both with chinese medicine and with diet modification (becoming aware of my sensitivities and how my headaches are very related to what I am eating). There have been multiple times that I have gone in with pain and left without pain. Since I have started, my overall well-​being and health has improved. She is a very caring person and a great listener. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for help with any pain or just feeling better overall ! She’s fabulous.

Heart Spring Health is great! I see Stephanie Swanson and she is wonderful! Her approach is gentle, nurturing, and compassionate. I have been going to her for acupuncture for several months now, and definitely feel a difference in my overall health and well being. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to take a different approach from western medicine. She is very knowledgeable about Chinese herbs and acupuncture. I recommend Stephanie to anyone wanting to explore a different route to address their medical issues.

Heart spring Health is great. I get my pregnancy acupuncture done here with Stephanie Swanson. The clinic itself is always clean, full of friendly staff, & works with my budget. It’s also very easy to get to & park near which is a huge help being that I live far away.
Stephanie is very knowledgeable & has been helping me for years. She played a huge role with my fertility treatment & now I am having TWINS! I have seen her throughout my pregnancy for headaches, heartburn, aches & pains, among many other things. She has really helped me in many ways. I will continue going to Heart Spring Health & plan on seeing other providers at the clinic as well. I would recommend them to anyone!

First, I cannot rave enough about Heart Spring Health as a clinic. With everything you need under one roof and with a very high quality selection of practitioners I can’t imagine going any where else. For those of you who know that the body requires a holistic approach which addresses many different layers, you have found that special place where all your needs can be met.
I’d also like to make a special recommendation to see Talula Kana. Cranial sacral therapy can sometimes be overlooked by those who are used to physical adjustments that feel more aggressive. But with CS work, you will soon learn that the body’s rhythms are most often very subtle and require gentle yet precise adjustments. Talula’s ability to listen to the subtle movements of bones and the communication lines throughout the body has important healing powers. Her ability to create a harmonious connect from your head down your spine has profound effects that help to reset the balance throughout your entire body system. I highly recommend her and her work!

I recently received acupuncture at Heart Spring Health from Alexandra Jackiw. She’s got this warm, calming presence that allowed me right away to relax. She was confident and she had an excellent needling touch. One thing I really enjoyed was she sang a healing song while she put needles in, which was something I hadn’t experienced before and she has a beautiful voice. I left feeling fantastic!

I have been seeing Dr. Serron Wilkey for a bit over two years and I have seen my health improve. By following Dr. Wilkey’s suggestions for a cleanse about a year and a half ago and continuing to follow a diet to reduce inflammation in my body I have seen direct impact in my energy and well being. Is calm, knowledgeable, and she has a reassuring manner. About a year ago I had a serious threat to my health develop and she recommended ancillary therapies that both restored my health and my mental state. I see Jess Young, a practitioner also at Heart Spring on Dr. Wilkey’s recommendation. Jess restores my sense of peace and harmony when I have sessions with her. I appreciate the multi-​disciplinary team at Heart Spring, I know that my health follows a trajectory of optimum balance and I am confident that by following the recommendations outlined by Dr. Wilkey I can maintain excellent health as I age.

Working with Dr. Andrea Del-​Olmo and Dr. Laurie Menk-​Otto has been one of the best aspects of this past year for me. I have had health problems all of my life, but I’ve never had care like this. For most of my life, the doctors I’ve seen have had hypotheses of what might be wrong, and then ran diagnostic tests, but if nothing came back affirmative they would simply not treat me and tell me to only come back if things became severe. At Heart Spring Health both Dr. Del-​Olmo and Dr. Menk-​Otto have looked at my individual symptoms and tried to take care of them before even attempting to diagnose me with anything, and then have met with me sometimes weekly in order to check in about my progress and reactions to supplements and medications. They have both explained to me that they want to calm down as many symptoms as possible in order to get my health at a base-​line that might help them determine the best mode of care for me, and then possibly make any diagnoses that need to be made. It’s been so amazing, having this kind of treatment. It’s been truly life-​changing for me.

I have been to Heart Spring Health for massage therapy many times. I have seen both Talula Kana and Johanna Wearsch. My schedule is busy so it’s great having 2 therapists so I can get in when I need a massage. Talula and Johanna are great at reading muscles, I’m a challenging client, I need massages that start very gentle, but then get in a break up the knots that have accumulated. Both of them do this perfectly. Talula incorporates craniosacral treatments with her massages that make them deeply relaxing. Johanna’ massages incorporate structural integration, that is very good for breaking up myofacial adhesions and improving blood flow and flexibility. The clinic is very conveniently located close-​in on SE Morrison building. The setting is professional and relaxing.

Dr. Wilkie at Heart Spring Health is a dedicated, knowledgable, and effective naturopath. She has directed my health care for the past year with rigor and compassion. Under her tutelage, I have been encouraged and supported in making lifestyle changes for improved health, such as nutrition, better sleep and activity balance, and the use of acupuncture and homeopathic procedures for stress reduction. Dr. Wilkie utilizes data from samples (blood, saliva, stool, etc.) and testing to assess baselines in the system, and adjusts her treatments based on on-​going sample analysis. I appreciate her attention to data results, as well as her instinctive and sensitive commitment to holistic health (i.e. physical body wellness as well as social and emotional health).
I highly recommend both Dr. Wilkie and her support staff at Heart Spring Health. The staff has consistently advocated for me with health insurance claims, and appointment scheduling. I am particularly grateful for Dr. Wilkie and her staff’s sensitivity regarding financial ability. As a graduate student with limited income, payment plans and flexible appointment scheduling have empowered me to attend to my health when other practitioners and businesses have had to turn me away. The Heart Spring Health staff certainly go above and beyond, making connections and suggestions that have been beneficial to my health.

Dr. Wilkie is terrific — very knowledgeable, patient, kind, and wise! She treats the whole person and does it very well. I really enjoy my appointments with her. She listens to my complaints and is genuinely interested in seeing improvements in my body, mind, and soul.
