My love affair with Hula Hut began when the truck next door(Let’s Eat Thai Food) went on vacation for three weeks. I started eating Hula Hut’s $ 5 breakfast burrito for breakfast AND for lunch. Its gravy-filled center is oh-so-comforting on a cold, drizzly day(read: almost any day in Portland). It has egg, potatoes, cheese, and onions. Bacon add in costs $ 1, though I think it has plenty of flavor without it. Do NOTE: This breakfast burrito is so delicious that I’ve literally eaten nothing else on Hula Hut’s menu, nor am I interested in expanding my Hula Hut horizons.

Came just today and got a teriyaki chicken and pineapple sandwich and a side of the mac salad. The flavor was great. However, the sandwich came with a whole chicken breast which made the sandwich really difficult to eat. I couldn’t eat the last third of the sandwich because the delicious sauces, matched with the uneven thickness of the chicken breast, caused a goopy mess. If the cook were willing to cut the chicken up, the sandwich would be so much easier to enjoy. Also, the service took longer than I’d prefer, but we were there during the lunch hour and there was only one person working. Other than that, the food was great and I would definitely try it again.

I’ve only had there fish tacos, but they are incredible. They take awhile because she grills them as you order, but they are fresh and delicious

Great fish tacos. The fish itself is VERY mild. I personally prefer fishy fish, but that’s not to say these tacos aren’t amazing, just very mild. I also like how they grill the tortilla, giving it a «homemade crispy» crunch.

Short and sweet… This place serves great food and I’m only halfway though their menu because I’m stuck(addicted) to their fish tacos mostly. Like another reviewer said, the service could be improved(slowish) but it’s still worth the wait and I now know to time my visits around the lunchtime rush.

Have been eating here multiple times per week for months. Tracee’s food is excellent quality, made fresh, generous portions, and overall an exceptional value — not to mention delicious! She scrambles the eggs fresh and cooks the bacon right away for the breakfast burrito. My other staple from Hula Hut is the Pulled Pork Lunch Plate. Again, delicious pork, mac salad and rice. They offer a variety of sauces as well. Tracee is super nice, always flexible with orders, and gives Hershey’s Kisses complimentary with an order! Her sister owns the Sadona Coffee Company cart next door and has just as good coffee as Hula Hut does food!

Very good fish tacos, but not the best service around. On my first visit, I ordered and waited about fifteen minutes, figuring my order was ready, the woman in the cart leaned out to find me, but she asked me what I ordered. Took even longer for my food. What I got was good, and I’ve been back once more based on the food quality and had another lunch of good tacos. It will take a couple more visits with good and faster service to get a better rating from me.

Today was a very important day. Today was the day that I had a breakfast burrito from the Hula Hut. It contained sausage, eggs, cheese, bacon, gravy and sriracha. Today I had the best breakfast burrito ever. Also of note, the burrito was enormous, and it only cost me $ 6. I paid for this burrito with a 20 dollar bill and got $ 14 back. The 4 one dollar bills were also quite crispy and new. This whole experience was amazing.

So glad we have Hula Hut as part of the SW Moody Food Carts! Amazing fish tacos, stuffed full with fish and topped with tasty salsa. Hula also serves up some yummy breakfast –biscuits & gravy and scrambled eggs with cheese. Highly recommend Hula Hut!

I just had the mahi fish tacos recommended to me by co workers and my oh my am I blown away. $ 7 for 3 tacos and an extra taco for a buck, these tacos come PACKED with marinated mahi, juicy and flaky. It is topped with cabbage, cliantro, a spicy mayo, tomato, and sided with a sweet, tangy pineapple salsa and lime. For $ 2 a taco, it can’t be beat and the flavor is out of this world. The down side is that this dish takes a lot longer to prepare but totally worth it!

AMAZING fish tacos! Mahi mahi cooked to perfection(most likely grilled), topped with cabbage, a creamy sauce, a tropical salsa and cilantro with lime on the side. Great balance of flavors –nothing too heavy handed. Love the price point — 3 heartily filled tacos for $ 7, add more tacos for $ 1 each. Call ahead for faster service during the lunch rush. A gem!
