Hush Tan

Literally the best airbrush tanning experience I could imagine. Mahriah was so kind, and you can tell is so passionate about what she does. Previous to this experience, all of my other spray tanning experiences have been in tanning salon machines. Mahriah gave me the best spray tan that I have ever had, and the best thing is that there were no orange palms or feet! I also loved the smell of the solution after I got the tan. I smelled like a candy bar:) If you are thinking of getting an airbrush tan, I would highly recommend hush!!!

I went into Hush Tan on 4÷13÷16 as a trial run before a vacation I am taking this summer. I had never had a spray tan before, and I was very concerned about coming out orange or splotchy. Upon walking in, I was welcomed and the door and given the step by step of what to expect. During the tanning process, the owner (who was tanning me) was very friendly and made me feel comfortable as I stood there naked. After my tan, I noticed some weird coloring around my ankles, and was bummed thinking that it was going to look weird. However, after my shower the next morning, everything looked smooth and natural. I say, «natural,» as opposed to, «even,» because it looked like I had been naturally tanned from the sun, not spray painted. My tan lasted longer than I expected (2 full weeks). I will definitely be making another appointment before my summer trip!

My first ever airbrush tan and I had such a fantastic experience. I will definitely go back and recommend this to everyone looking for a great tan and a comfortable environment. In love!!!

I’ve been spray tanning for nearly 10 years and have experienced all types of professionals but Mahriah was truly wonderful. I’ve had experiences in other places where I just had the feeling that the staff was talking about everyone as soon as they’d leave and that’s just the worst. The website immediately addresses some of those self conscious concerns. It focuses on privacy, and refreshingly addresses the intimate nature of the service — I really appreciated that little bit of acknowledgement! Mahriah was warm, open and never made me feel like she was anything but professional and compassionate. She is phenomenal at her craft and I walked out with an exceptional tan! I will absolutely recommend her to anyone and will continue to frequent Hush.

Love Mahriah! Used her for my destination wedding in Mexico and she did an amazing job! The wedding was in Jan so I really needed it. It was perfect tone for someone pale like me. looked like I’d been in the sun a week before my wedding. Don’t hesitate to book her if you have a special occasion or just wanna look extra hot!

Never had a spray tan before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Let it be known that I was really pleased with the results!
The rules were intimidating (no baby oil, avoid water, no loofa in shower, pat dry, no bar soap, no standing face-​front in shower, moisturize like crazy, etc). My thought leaving was «I’m going to screw this up.» However it’s one week later and I’m still going strong with no streaking. Even after an oil massage and lots of pool time in Vegas. Would recommend if you want to look great for a special trip or event!

My 1^st hush tan, 2^nd, 12^th ect. were ALL consistently amazing. Mahriah (owner/​airbrush artist) has built this business with only the best for her customers. She makes you feel completely comfortable and confident whether you are tanning in your bday suit or shorts and tank top. The tanning solution she uses is like nothing else you have or will try. Guarantee you won’t be orange, blotchy, streaky, uneven like with other products. My skin always feels and looks soft, moisturized and flawless afterward. I am very pale with out a tan and have very red skin. When i have a hush tan my blotchy redness and all my skin imperfections are concealed. I got a two airbrush tans here in preparation for my wedding and they were amazing! The experience and atmosphere was great and Mahriah is fabulous! I am not tan in general and was going for a more natural glow and Mahriah gave me just that! My friends and family were really impressed when I told them that I had an airbrush tan, they all indicated that it looked very natural and they never would have known it wasn’t if I didn’t tell them. I will definitely be coming back to Hush Tan exclusively for tans from now on.

Wow! I have never been so impressed with someone and their ability to make a person feel at ease and comfortable. Mariah is an amazing woman! I love her tanning studio, everything was bright and inviting. As soon as I walked in the door I knew this would be a great experience. I’ve never had a spray tan, but I can definitely say I will be back! What she has is definitely special, and you can tell from all of her rave reviews on here. She made the entire process so easy and fun, she is great at keeping a conversation, and making you feel special. I love that the tanning is by appointment only. Easy to find her place as well! I was attending a wedding and the dress I was going to wear showed a lot more skin than I normally am comfortable with. I decided a tan was needed and have had great experiences with the airbrush tanning in the past. I found Hush Tan on Unilocal and thought I would give it a try. Mahriah was wonderful! We talked through the whole process and she gave me great tips on how to make the tan last as long as possible. She is very passionate about what she does and made me feel incredibly comfortable. I will definitely can’t wait to go back!
As a side note, I had mentioned to my coworkers that I was getting a spray tan for the wedding and they were excited to see what I looked like the next day. I honestly think they were hoping I would resemble an Oompa Loompa or something. They were shocked when I walked in looking like I had just come back from Cabo and how natural the color was. No orange hues! I got so many compliments at the wedding and no one knew my secret. :)

I’ve been to a few airbrush places in Portland, and this is hands down my favorite. Mahriah is clearly passionate about what she does, as it shows in her skills and her product. She’s very kind, and makes you feel totally comfortable! I have very fair skin, but like doing the rapid tan solution, as I prefer to not have to sleep with the tan on. I usually leave it on about 4 – 5 hours and it’s perfect for me (a nice light brown, not orange at all), plus it doesn’t smell! It lasts about a week, and fades really evenly. I haven’t had any problems with it being patchy or splotchy, which is a huge bonus. I’d also highly recommend buying the tan mit! While it seems kind of silly at first, its a GREAT way to exfoliate even when you don’t have a tan. It’s great to use when your tan starts to fade so you can buff any lines you might have (from bra straps or shoes), or if you need to scrub off some leftover tan before getting your next one! I’ll definitely be coming here consistently this summer, it’s the best I’ve found!

Mahriah is an absolute doll! And completely passionate about what she does. As a mid-40’s gal I was not exactly looking forward to dropping trou in order for her to perform her airbrush magic, but she made it effortless. She keeps up great conversation & is so genuinely kind that your mind is taken off the fact you are standing there in all your glory… or in your not-​so-​glorious. ;)
She knows her trade, she is an expert at her craft, and she is one of my new favorite people. I love it when I find individual business owners who knock it out the park. HushTan was a really exceptional experience.

This place is very cozy and super welcoming. It was my first time ever getting a spray tan. I felt so comfortable with the lady that did my tan. She was super nice and she was so talkative! Didn’t make me feel awkward at all. Great first experience, hope to go back soon but maybe I’ll go a little lighter than I did the first time. It lasted about 5 days :)

I am a very pale person and I have tried for years to get a good tan and could never find someone. I had an even to go to and decided to take a chance and got o Mariah. I am now hooked. I literally go almost every week. She makes me look like a golden goddess. I now feel like I can’t live without my lovely tan. She is super professional and also always squeezes me in with my ever changing schedule. I have gone to her for almost 2 years now and have never had a bad experience. She is THE tanner of Portland!!!

Best. Tan. Ever. I’m from CA and have received my fair share of airbrush tans, but this was hands-​down the best I’ve ever had. Not only was Mariah super sweet, and went out of her way to squeeze me in last minute (even staying late for me), but the tan was impeccable. It was not orange, not streaky or spotty, perfect color, and perfectly even from my toes to my face. It lasted a week in the humidity/​sun block/​pools of Colombia, and then when it faded, it slowly went away evenly! No spotting, or looking like I had a skin disease of some sort. I will definitely be returning!

I am an older lady recently relocated from NC. After 2 botched tannings, I found the best tanning experience in Portland. You see, when ladies get older, dark spots can be problematic and most spray tans or airbrush tans make these spots appear very dark or almost black not to mention the orange, uneven and smelly ones. At Hush Tan, I voiced my concern and was reassured none of my unfortunate outcomes would be a concern. I have found my Tanning Heaven! I have a marvelous natural looking tan again and am fully satisfied with the entire tanning experience. Hush Tan will surely be my tanning salon place to go!

If I find a perfect stylist or service, I am on the fence about giving out info. Being the pale-​skinned, native Portlander that I am, I cannot tan naturally. I freckle or burn when exposed to sun or tanning beds and that’s about it. Not to mention the skin cancer risk. So anytime there was a special event or vacation, I tried every self tanner there is (drug store brands to high end), Mystics, other local spray tans that left me either orange, smelling like fake tan smell, sticky, or otherwise looking like I got in a fight with a bottle of self tanner and it won. So two days later and it still looks amazing. No streaks, nobody asking if I went tanning with that raised eyebrow, no funky tan smell that makes my boyfriend want to sleep on the couch.
In addition to a gorgeous glow, the expert application, top notch product, fantastic pre-​and post tan advice, there’s the owner. Mahriah doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable peeling off all your clothes. I felt like I was reunited with a long lost friend. She loves what she does and it shows. The space is small and private. She clearly likes to make clients feel appreciated, valued and confident. No high pressure sales tactics, no BS. She is the kind of professional that deserves customer loyalty.
I don’t feel like I’m settling and I will definitely be back for a perfect custom tan for any future special occasion, vacation or mid-​winter in Portland when I need to feel like I’ve been somewhere sunny. So don’t keep it a secret when you find out how good it is.

I could not be happier with my airbrush tan! There are no streaks, no orange tint, and I didn’t feel sticky when I left. Mariah was so welcoming and sweet, she explained the process as soon as I walked in. I didn’t feel rushed and she made me feel extremely relaxed and comfortable (getting naked in front of a stranger is not top on my list of things to do). If anyone is looking for a QUALITY airbrush tan, Mariah is your girl!

Mahriah is so sweet and amazing! I went in for my first ever airbrush tan, and was a bit nervous about what to expect. I am pretty pale (Swedish/​Irish descent) and was terrified of being orange. I wanted to do a practice before my wedding to see what it would be like. She explained everything to me very clearly and put me at ease. She is so sweet and welcoming. Which is awesome because you pretty much get naked within ten minutes of meeting her.
The salon itself is cozy and beautiful. She does all the work herself and it is very private. Immediately I saw results. My skin looked more even and luminous. I looked instantly healthier, much needed after the past eight months of dreary winter.
I will definitely go back for a tan, and likely for her other services as well. (She does waxing, too). I am so relieved it was a good experience. Almost like being back in Cali on the beach…
