Kadel’s Auto Body – Portland St. Johns

What a nightmare. I got into an accident on Nov. 24, 2015, and took my car to Kadel’s because it was conveniently nearby. A few days later, I was told that my car would not be ready for weeks because they needed to ship a car door over from Germany. 3 and a half weeks later, they notified me that they found a car door in the states, but that they couldn’t START repairing my car for ANOTHER 3 weeks because they were «really busy» (to top it off, they were rude to my father on the phone when he was simply trying to understand what the hold up was). I asked to take my car to another body shop, but they had already conveniently cashed the insurance check to start repairs weeks earlier. They also refused to pay for any rental car expenses not covered by my insurance (I get 30 days free, this is taking FAR BEYOND 30 days because of their delay, so I’ll have to pay out of pocket). It’ll take a total of over two months to repair my car for a fix that could’ve been done in half the amount of time or even less elsewhere. I do not recommend this body shop. Though they were nice and polite as soon as they got my car, their demeanor changed entirely the minute money was involved.

After driving by their St Johns shop for many years, I took an insurance claim to them (one totaled door). I’ve had mixed experiences with body shops so I was a bit «on guard.» Kadel’s was very easy and professional to work with. They’ve got their business process and customer service down, and very good work. They had to match paint on the new panel with the vehicles 10 year old dark colored factory paint. They did an awesome job blending and matching the color. You cannot discern a difference. They also washed and waxed the entire car! Their relationship with Enterprise Rental Cars makes the rental super easy too. Thank you!

Incredibly dissatisfied with Kadels! They have been recommended by many friends in the area, and I chose to use them to fix my broken sunroof. They evaluated it and ordered the part once I was able to afford the $ 500 cost of a used window. Once they had it they spent 4. 4 HOURS working on this window before realizing that the one they ordered would not fit. When I went in to pick it up they wanted me to pay $ 200 for their mistake! I argued with them and still ended up paying for 2 hours of labor. I will never go to Kadels again, and I recommend that you don’t either. They are not as reliable and honest as they come across!

Super impressed with kadel’s! Getting a quote was fast and easy! Scheduling an appointment for repairs was easy and prompt and the actual repair was fast and looked amazing! They washed my car sparkly clean and they even did the inside! Glad I went with kadel’s!

Great service. Great work. The staff addressed issues with my car other than what I brought it in for without even charging me. My car was washed (and I think maybe vacuumed inside). Felt like first class treatment. I would recommend them to anyone. Highly.

These guys were great. they did a wonderful job, even cleaned and washed the car to sparkle. very friendly and prompt. the rental car service they use, (Enterprise) was awful, but I will definitely use these guys again and just use another rental car place if I need one.
