History

Established in 2006.

What started as a small massage office in downtown Kenton soon grew creating into Kenton Family Wellness Center which reopened on Denver Ave in 2010 in a lovely storefront location. In 2014 the cooperative was created uniting all the practitioners to a common cause; to provide for Kenton residents a variety of holistic care without leaving their neighborhood. The warm, bright, remodeled space is one block from the Denver/​Interstate MAX stop. Meet the practitioners, drink some wine, and get a tour of our office space at Kenton’s Third Thursday Art Walk from 5pm to 7pm.

Corri Rekart has been a licensed Massage Therapist for many years. She has specialized in Pregnancy and Labor massage, Reflexology, Thai massage, and has worked with many athletes for injury recover and performance enhancement. Her goal as president of Kenton Wellness Cooperative is to increase oportunites to incorporate wellness into their lives by provide affordable alternative health care options.

I had my first therapeutic massage from Miranda Morehouse during a week of biking through the North California mountains, and was amazed at how effective her gentle but expertly focused therapy helped me through that ride. At Kenton Wellness Cooperative, I again am enjoying restorative and peaceful therapy sessions with Miranda, and find her skill, knowledge and professional yet friendly manner an ideal combination. I highly recommend her to anyone!

Dr. Marcea Wiggins, ND is one of the finest Naturopathic physicians in Portland OR. I have been seeing Dr. Wiggins for many years now and felt I was overdue in acknowledging her services. She has a great understanding and balances ideas in natural, complimentary and traditional approaches to medicine which is often hard to find. Her approach is compassionate and logical and I have never left without feeling like all my needs were thoroughly examined and met. I cannot recommend her services enough. If you are seeking a compassionate, experienced, professional and knowledgeable physician Dr. Wiggins is a wise choice.

Great yoga with Joseph… Can’t say enough good things about his practice. There are great Living Social deals to try this place out, and you will be in love once you do. The punch card makes classes very affordable. The spaces is simple and the rotating art displays are a nice touch. Joseph has a great sense of humor which makes yoga practice even more fun.

Kenton Wellness has been a huge blessing for me. Many of their practitioners accept Kaiser alternative care benefits, so I am able to afford services that I might not other wise get for myself. I love that there are a variety of practitioners to meet my needs, that is in my neighborhood, and scheduling is really easy online. If I need to change something I just call, and everyone is very helpful. Practitioners are also good at networking with each other, so if you need something from the naturopath but she is out, one of the other practitioners can help you get what you need. I love this place!

I’ve been receiving acupuncture & cupping from Pam for about 6 weeks now; it’s my first experience with both. I consider myself someone open to alternative medicine and yet have a healthy amount of skepticism as well.
I have been very pleased and surprised with the results! I’m having treatments for long term back problems, along with a host of other symptoms I’ve had related to Fibromyalgia. I’ve opted to not take any traditional meds for this diagnosis, strictly doing «alternative» options.
My back is better than it’s been in some time, my moods have evened out. I used to have weekly migraines, if not more often. In the last 6 weeks I’ve had one, and the severity of it was much less.
I am truly a believer in this technique and Pam is cool; I really appreciate that she has flexible hours… even Saturdays! This is rare.
I really love that this wellness center exists in Kenton, it’s within walking distance for me and now that my back is improving I’m planning on taking advantage of this!

I’ve been to this establishment twice for massage. Once, the therapist called to reschedule our appointment. This also happened to a friend of mine that was in a car accident and needed therapeutic massage. The second time, I used the online appointment method which may an error in my selected day of service. I selected a certain day on the visual calendar and apparently the computer system wanted me to come in on a different week. Then why did I receive a an appointment confirmation the day before my planned appointment? I’ve never heard of a business sending out a week in advance appointment confirmation.

I’ve been going to Ellie for massages since around 2008. Previous to finding Ellie, I would always experience massage as rather painful and less than relaxing. Now I keep going back to Ellie because I always feel so much better after a massage. She is intiutive and responsive, has worked with me on a number of different issues (recently rotator cuff injury), and I always get some relief and healing. I recommend Ellie all the time to friends looking for an outstanding massage therapist.

Amie Beckwith-​Rautmann is an awesome LMT!
She is very skilled and able to get to the places that are sore, tight and painful and I always feel better after a massage. She also has a calming demeanor which makes the massage even more relaxing. Her prices are reasonable and there is discount for buying multiple sessions as one time.
I went to her several times a month for about 6 months and had a great massage every time!

I’ve been coming here for a little over a year now and I am a huge fan. I’ve been here for muscle/​ligament issues, stress, colds, and the list goes on and on. I am a big fan of acupuncture now and the benefits that it brings. You can also get cupped for cold and flu issues. Massage is also available, and all for reasonable prices. And even if you find some of the pricing beyond your means, some of the practitioners will do a sliding scale for you. Also they do a community wellness program where you can get acupuncture or massage for $ 20. This is only on certain days and times, but awesome all the same!

I’ve been to Jill Miller for massage a few times. She’s fabulous! She’s extremely intuitive about her work. I regularly destroy my neck and shoulders with too much computer work and I always walk out feeling so much better. The center is quiet, warm and inviting.

I have had two massages with Jill Noelle-​Miller at the Kenton Family Wellness Center. She is super skilled and intuitive about massage, and can talk you through what she’s doing if you want that, or she can let you relax and not talk at all too which I really appreciate. She is not afraid to apply pressure when needed which is also something I look for in a massage therapist. Prices are fair. The space is calming and clean, with plants and art welcoming you in (and also for sale by local artists.) I definitely recommend giving it a try!
